Talking about Drum Island, Jamie Lee Curtis has already expressed her desire to play Dr. Kureha. She said if she were younger she would have loved to play Robin, but Chopper is her favorite character so this works too.
I think that Shanks finger gun pose will look cool if what happens next is Lucky Roo headshotting the mountain bandit threatening him with a gun, "You know, guns are not for threatening people." "Boom!"
Exactly what I was thinking. I can almost imagine him chuckling, then turning a bit serious. Right as he mimics a Finger-gun gesture. Then, Lucky Roo shoots.
@@NoOne-ky1er Given the size differences in the One Piece world Shanks is about Hobbit size compare to his fellow Emperors (the original ones, the new ones are all hobbits other than Blackbeard.) anyway.
I think most people tend to forget that Shanks didn't look intimidating or badass, the guy was really mundane tbh. Like sure at the end of water 7, we knew he meant business. But even so he still didn't look up the part, not unti later that it. So I think, it's alright for him to appear goofy af now, that's the point lol
He looks like a chad now tho in the beginning yes he looked goofy but i dont think they will change his look, if they go far enough to show him use conq haki i dont think it will look intimidating even though im optimistic
Garp being at Roger's execution makes perfect sense. He's the one the WG gave credit to for catching Roger. He also had a pretty close relationship with Roger. It's little changes like this that are the biggest advantage of the live action. They have 25+ years of world building to pull from. They can make those sorts of additions that fit perfectly with the story (like how we saw wanted posters for characters who don't appear for a long time to come).
I mean... He is not Brazilian but Mexican but I guess he fits the stereotypical description of a Latino since Brazil is part of Latin America. All this from the point of view of a Japanese (since Oda himself chose the cast)
8:48 That is Garp. Back when they showed the filming locations, there were posters saying "Legendary marine Garp caught king of the pirates Roger". From a narrative perspective they're already making a connection to Marineford with Garp being next to Ace on the scaffold.
Since y'all mentioned it, Oda did an SBS on what the Straw Hat crew's nationalities. For the Straw Hats present in the Netflix series it goes as follows: Sanji: France (sounds more British to me but idk we haven't really heard this man speak in the show) Usopp: Africa (no specific country given) Nami: Sweden (fair enough i guess) Zoro: Japan (everyone probably knows where this one is going) Luffy: Brazil (mans was correct, and it's probably why Oda casted Iñaki in the first place)
Yea this trailer looks more natural and very good then the previous one they got the one piece vibe feel very right too its 9/10 for me. if only they had made the scenes to have more colors to it. that will be a perfect 10/10 for me lol
I was thinking about it, and flashback Shanks might look weird because the strawhat he's wearing might be slightly too small for his head. This would be so that he could put it on baby Luffy's head and not look weird on him. I don't know if this is the case, but it's the only thing I can think of.
The budget for season 2 would have to be insane if they did all of alabasta. From drum island to little garden then alabasta the sets alone would eat up the budget
11:44 I guess that's how the Live Action handle Zoro approaching Kuro pirate late. Remember when Usopp set up the oil trap for the Kuro's crew in the wrong entrance? I think they change from Zoro struggling to climb up the oily slope to him falling into trap hole instead.
Do we not think Shanks is feeling the effect of losing his captain Roger and kind of losing a piece of him thus making his appearance seem dull and homeless? Luffy talking like Roger and eating the fruit probably spark the warrior inside him.
oda did make an sbs on all the straw hats nationalities and luffy is brazilian im pretty sure they made all of them accurate to what oda said thats why zoro is only one whos japanese in the crew
garp was at marine ford during rogers executions but it makes a lot of sense for him to be there i don't mind the change, there's no guarantee about more seasons so their including important characters now like bellamy
If the series does get to Alabasta Arc, I would feel it would have a setting in Egypt due to Poneglyphs in the anime. In my opinion. It seems to fit the whole Robin is only able to decipher the glyphs and such.

Idk who these guys are but this video just popped up in my recommended, I feel like they have no idea what they talking about " when did arlong get a sword?" " Is that BeLLAmi?" " I don't even know who made the straw hats actual flag", and this is in the first 10 mi utes of the video, I couldn't even finish the video.
Glad you were paying attention :) Some of the quotes you mention are just points of excitement like "Is that Bellamy ", and other moments are just us being forgetful based on this being a retelling of the beginning of the series. We all consumed copious amounts of one-piece
they haven't announced an actor for him so maybe they cut him out and sense a fish man is their he might cut his ship or some random pirate either way it makes sense
bro, I feel you. One Piece has some iconic theme music, and it's important for the live-action to capture that essence. Hopefully, the music will grow on us as the series progresses.

I'm pretty sure thats dragon at 8:17
OH you're right! We didn't even see that. Great call out
Yeah I see people not even noticing him somehow XDD
I mean, so much else is happening, I never noticed and I have seen this so many times now from other reactions
Garp at roger's execution is actually genius, cuz there's should be a marine that strong enough to avoid from someone saving roger
Also, they share a history so it's just plain manners on Garp's part.
Double so since Garp spoke with Roger about Ace only days or even hours before his execution
In hindsight he really should have been there in the manga and anime
Talking about Drum Island, Jamie Lee Curtis has already expressed her desire to play Dr. Kureha. She said if she were younger she would have loved to play Robin, but Chopper is her favorite character so this works too.

haha, that would be a badass moment! Shanks with the finger gun pose followed by Lucky Roo's headshot. Talk about teaching a lesson in style.

There is a SBS where Oda specifies the crew's ethnicities and he states Luffy is Brazilian so the actors fall in lines with that.

The scene with Zoro stuck in a well is probably a reference to Mihawk calling him “a frog in a well” or lacking in experience.

Zoro in the well is the "Frog in the well" as Mihawk told him when they fought. Just being in his head.
Think the chick running early at the execution may be Tsuru.
The ship in the storm is Zeff`s Cooking George
The hat's a little too small for Shanks, but Shanks isn't the original owner of the hat either.
