I'm glad you rescued this beautiful washbasin, all you had to do was wash off the dirt and it looks like new and she has a face notice the eyes, nose and smile. The mirror is beautiful too, these old things are of such excellent quality they will last another hundred years and still be beautiful. The green tiling is gorgeous and the whole bathroom looks perfect.
@@user-yi7zj3lv5t yes it’s a whole new world that we live in! Somehow I stumbled across this channel right at the beginning of the renovation of Chapline House and I have been enchanted ever since!
Glad you saved the sink. I had to laugh that it ( the sink that is) look’s surprised! Always enjoy your videos. I am living vicariously through ya’ll. God bless from Texas.
Thanks for sharing this helpful tip! It's always great to find gentle yet effective cleaning methods. Fortunately there was very little crud. The scene where I scrape the back of the shelf was cleaning off dried caulking. It all came off with a $1 plastic scraper
@@ChaplineHouse I am surprised about how clean you got the sink considering it's age. Bon Ami is a great cleaner. I am looking forward to watching more of your journey. Here in Missouri, we have hard water and the crud builds up . We did a whole bathroom suite in a 100 year old house a friend was selling (similar sink and a clawfoot tub, modern toilet) and she was surprised how everything looked new. We also us chopsticks (sharpened in pencil sharpener and sometimes not), to clean and to get paint out of crevices when stripping furniture since they don't scratch like metal.
I checked i got unsubscribed. Gonna keep an eye out for that... ill trade you boats. Lol! ours is a lil 14 footer and my hubby wants to take our on lake erie. 😱 the bathroom sink looks really nice! 😊
Thanks! The salmon color was chosen to go with the wallpaper that we have selected, but have not yet put on the walls. So, it may not stay that way. What do you think? Do you like it?
I apologize for the confusion! The pic was meant to grab attention, but I understand your disappointment. We opted to take out the tub in this bathroom and go with a shower. I hope you come back for more - in fact, we still have to do the upstairs bathroom. It does have a claw foot tub!
It is so satisfying to watch you restore and reuse your vintage sink; it has a face!
The sink definitely has a story to tell, and we're just here to give it a new chapter!

Thanks for the great feedback! I'm delighted you liked the washbasin and the shower tile.
I'm glad you were so thorough. I would be too. I love the face of this vintage sink❤.
Who knew a sink could have such a captivating face, right? Maybe it's secretly judging our handwashing skills! No I can't unsee it
@@ChaplineHouse Me either, it's adorable 🥰
Ooh can’t wait for this one… no sleep for me in Adelaide, South Australia. Lol!
Crazy to think someone in Adelaide would know wheeling even exists 😊

Thanks for your support from the great state of Texas!
Love it!
9:46 the sink's face is like 😐 You'd think it would be happy to be clean! But seriously, congratulations on the finished bathroom. Great job!
Haha, the sink's expression cracks me up too! Thanks for the positive vibes on the bathroom reno, it means a lot!
Pumice stones are great for getting crud off porcelain without scratching it. Thorough is good!

The chopsticks idea is a great one
The bathroom is lovely! Will you install an exhaust fan?
Thank you. Not sure about the fan. We do have an operable window in there, so the fan is not required

Must have been a UA-cam glitch! Thanks for your support. I think that 14 footer would be fun on the lake
Love the green tile and the restored sink. Is that the paint color ur using for the bathroom?

I watched for the bath tub in the ad pic of this vid, NO tub, was dissapointed.

@@ChaplineHouse ok, thank you, I will, looking forward to the tub.
