I cycled up to the top of the mountains on the way from Dumaguete to Siation (10 KM away), but was afraid to no be able to cycle up again the same day. Loved seeing some of the same scenery on your bus ride. Took the bus there to Bayawan too to check out Pure Gold. Same venders at that intermediate stop. LOL a tuff living they have. Those little electric tricycles suck, they are too small.
👍🏻 we ran out of time, and didn’t make it to Pure Gold. We’ll definitely go back. Bayawan reminded me of a larger, cleaner, Valencia with a mall and beach, but without the expat catering restaurants
If you have not been to Bagio its a must See place to visit...its a great place no one talks about..
We’re actually leaving for Luzon on the 19th for the rest of the year. We are going to be in Baguio for at least 3 days…maybe 4
Unless like me you lived in the Pacific Northwest for years 😂.

Baguio is really fun to visit though 😊.
I took my Filipina there for the Strawberry festival 👍🏻
It made her laugh 😆 because strawberry’s 🍓 is what she calls her nipples 🤣

Wow! I haven’t drank Tang since the 70’s. That was the beverage of choice at Grandma’s house. We had the choice between Tang, Water or Milk. Get your drink and “get out of the house” (as per Grandma).

You are very lucky because 30 years ago the Bus had no AC and they were like the school buses in the US. All the buses were painted Red and were called Philippines Rabbit..

Hi Kevin. I’m starting to consider some alternatives to Dumaguete. Have you been to Tanjay? How would you compare Bayawan and Tanjay? How do these small towns compare to Dauin? Thanks!
We have only driven through Tanjay…..in January, we will probably go on a trip from San Carlos to Bacolod. I’ll find out more about it then
never try those (vick nose sticks) not what you think, they are addictive same as in Thailand

You comment about the E trike's is funny because Philippines has so many cars that E trike are just window dressing..
Yeah, they wouldn’t put a dent in the pollution in Dumaguete, but Bayawan has less cars and they are making a conscious effort to clean it up
