You can still hear the heartache in his voice when he mentioned his children. Women can be evil bitches during divorce and often use kids as a weapon against the Father. When I separated from my ex, I went through absolute hell to remain a part of my daughter's life, dripping poison bullshit into her ears,. I almost gave in, but I wouldn't give that bitch the satisfaction of destroying my soul. Happy to say I'm still a big part of my daughter's life. I hope Lewis gets to be part of his kids life again at some point.

A great interview. You are getting really good at that. If you had an Ed McMahon, you could be a Johnny Carson. Hee hee. Maybe Louis should start a UA-cam channel and show us how cheap the stores are and the markets are and show us some good cheap rentals like you do.thanks I really enjoyed the interview😮

Very good interview, Luis obviously had a very bad experience but clearly he is on the mend and
moving to the Philippines, Bayawan in particular and having a new wife is playing a major part
in his recovery, really great to see that. Kevin - really good thing you met up with Luis and he
was able to express what was bothering him and get that out in the open and that definitely
took some courage ! Take care Kevin and continued recovery for Luis !!!

This place looks set to take off. I checked google maps & had a tour. Beautiful boulevard with a bike lane. Alll it’ll take is One western style restaurant/ bar at the foot of a street across from the ocean. Add one decent funky motel nearby & the word will be out back in Duma for a weekend getaway…Cheers

Lived several years in Bayawan almost 30 years ago. I was the only foreigner, as for most was to far away and/or they were afraid to go there. If you like the hinterlands and rural areas. This is the place. Nowadays roads improved a lot far inland and makes it easier. And if you then go to Dumaguete it's more like a outing. But you have to find purpose and get yourself busy.

Hello Kevin, Mark from Canada, Ontario. I've been single for a 11 yrs , 55 and debt free and also had a very poor outcome of divorce and the only thing that I got handed to me was my ass. I'm sure I'm not alone at the end of a rope or a barrel but I was able to be there for my son no matter what it took. So now that I'm in a place to plan my life being a self made man I hope that I'm one yr out to Duma. Than you for your great info and keep up the good work. Mark;).

I’ll have to look up Bayawan on the map. Is it still in Negros Oriental? A map would have been helpful. What are some of the prime characteristics Bayawan is known for? How is it for outdoor recreational activities plus beaches, swimming and snorkeling for example? Consider posting a walking tour of Bayawan if you have time in the future.

@@TooMuchTimeonmyHands65 Hi Kevin. I found it! It’s not too far from Duma (2~2.5 hr. drive) and the peaceful, country lifestyle is appealing. I hear Bayawan is very clean with lots of opportunity for spending time out in nature which I like. I’m not sure yet, but it may be slightly too isolated from amenities of a bigger city, so perhaps something in between what Duma and Bayawan has to offer. No idea if this even exists in the PHs.

I recently heard it said that Iloilo '''is''' the next Dumaguete for expats. Infrastructure is much better from what I've been hearing and is developed much better. -- It may be an option for some ? -- Curious what he does for health insurance ? I'm already old and likely won't be able to get any coverage @ 73 ? Heard they consider you already dead past 70 ? And I couldn't afford to self insure ? Advise I've been hearing is don't go over there w/o at least $50K for any serious possible emergency. -?-

That was sort of a weird place on google map. Soo many smaller city centers.
It looks more like a REGION, not like 1 city.
It has aprox same population as Dumaguette, but geogra0hically over 20x bigger.
So much less densily populated compared to Dumaguette.
But nice to learn about areas in philippines:)
Dont want to live in big cities, to westernized. And overpriced.
Best balance is to live semi-provincial. But have access to semi-size city not too far away... for different services once in a while.
Cebu seems to westernized. Manila is toxic imo.
So Negros island and Mindanao seems most interesting.
And maybe illolo island or what its called the island north of negros island.
But mindanao is more silent turmoil risks. And also prone for earthquakes etc from what i have understood.
