My name is Kevin. I hope you will enjoy my videos of my great new life of early retirement in Dumaguete in the Philippines. Come along on my island hopping trips to beaches, snorkeling, mountains, waterfalls and other Philippine destinations. I’ll introduce you to friends, so you can learn about dating, finding a place to live, restaurants, and best places to buy groceries

You can still hear the heartache in his voice when he mentioned his children. Women can be evil bitches during divorce and often use kids as a weapon against the Father. When I separated from my ex, I went through absolute hell to remain a part of my daughter's life, dripping poison bullshit into her ears,. I almost gave in, but I wouldn't give that bitch the satisfaction of destroying my soul. Happy to say I'm still a big part of my daughter's life. I hope Lewis gets to be part of his kids life again at some point.
👍🏻
Thank you so much for this video Gentlemen !
This is so refreshing for me after searching various channels for a bit of a preview of the Philippines this is definitely helpful so thank you both.
Inspirational words from your guest.
Thanks Rick! Yes, Luis’ life took a much needed change for the better when he got here😉
Good interview. I'm glad Louis escaped all the stress and found a peaceful place to live.
Definitely, he’s a good guy!
New subscriber here..
Nice to see your video.. I am from Bayawan too but it's been long time already that Im out of the country..
Thanks Lil Sofia! Hopefully we can meet you when we come back 😃
A great interview. You are getting really good at that. If you had an Ed McMahon, you could be a Johnny Carson. Hee hee. Maybe Louis should start a UA-cam channel and show us how cheap the stores are and the markets are and show us some good cheap rentals like you do.thanks I really enjoyed the interview😮
Thanks Richard! Luis said he may start a channel
Very good interview, Luis obviously had a very bad experience but clearly he is on the mend and
moving to the Philippines, Bayawan in particular and having a new wife is playing a major part
in his recovery, really great to see that. Kevin - really good thing you met up with Luis and he
was able to express what was bothering him and get that out in the open and that definitely
took some courage ! Take care Kevin and continued recovery for Luis !!!
Thanks Robert! Yeah, he’s a good guy and he’s happy now
I feel for the guy, we all went though some divorce dramas . I'm glad he made it ❤
Fortunately, he’s in a good place now 😉
What a truly Heart Felt interview with Louis there. Excellent piece Kevin.
That was all off of the cuff. I just met him, and had no idea about his past. He’s in a good place now😉
@@TooMuchTimeonmyHands65yeh that was definitely a ' foot in mouth ' moment when you asked him if he was a drugs dealer 😂 might want to do a bit of pre interview Q & A next time
🤙 great interview brother
Thanks man
Another great video and interview Kevin, thanks you.
Thanks, I am glad you enjoyed it
Yep met a 41 year old Filipina school teacher on DateInAsia.. we both had just got on it 2 weeks apart and we both got off of it the next day.. been going on 2 months now.. we're up in Negros Orientals ..
Congratulations!
Hey Kevin does Louis drink beer? You are definitely enjoying that ice cold Pilsen!
Hahaha, yes, he matched me beer for beer before the video
😂😂😂...I do drink beer.
Hi Kevin, subscriber since you started, I guess this question is for Louis. What is a nice place to stay there? I will be in Dumaguete for a month in January and where you live sounds very interesting to me since I'm looking for where I want to live in the Philippines.
Thanks for always being there! I’ll let Luis know
Hello Robbie, Luis here. Ummm anywhere here in Bayawan is nice. Anywhere near the Blvd. Or around where I am would be great. Let me know if you do come. 🙏😊
Great Louis, I will be in touch in January when I'm in Dumaguete for a month. Have a nice night .
@@robbiesousa1435 ok brother... goodnight.
This place looks set to take off. I checked google maps & had a tour. Beautiful boulevard with a bike lane. Alll it’ll take is One western style restaurant/ bar at the foot of a street across from the ocean. Add one decent funky motel nearby & the word will be out back in Duma for a weekend getaway…Cheers
Yep….eventually, this will be a happening spot😉
In one of your other videos you mentioned you got your ACR
You said it took 2 weeks to get.
Did you have to go back to immigration or did they send it to you?
I’m sorry, I meant to say 2 months. Yes, I did go back to the office to get it.
Good interview, were all been thru the ringer with some women. Glad he was able to move on.
Yeah, he’s a good guy
Lived several years in Bayawan almost 30 years ago. I was the only foreigner, as for most was to far away and/or they were afraid to go there. If you like the hinterlands and rural areas. This is the place. Nowadays roads improved a lot far inland and makes it easier. And if you then go to Dumaguete it's more like a outing. But you have to find purpose and get yourself busy.
You are 100% correct
NICE BEER
Hello Kevin, Mark from Canada, Ontario. I've been single for a 11 yrs , 55 and debt free and also had a very poor outcome of divorce and the only thing that I got handed to me was my ass. I'm sure I'm not alone at the end of a rope or a barrel but I was able to be there for my son no matter what it took. So now that I'm in a place to plan my life being a self made man I hope that I'm one yr out to Duma. Than you for your great info and keep up the good work. Mark;).
👍🏻hopefully the time will fly by, and you will be here before you know it
There are many more nicer places than Duma. Bohol is an amazing place
I love the Philippines,
Me too!!!
I’ll have to look up Bayawan on the map. Is it still in Negros Oriental? A map would have been helpful. What are some of the prime characteristics Bayawan is known for? How is it for outdoor recreational activities plus beaches, swimming and snorkeling for example? Consider posting a walking tour of Bayawan if you have time in the future.
We’re way behind schedule here, but Bayawan is at 7:00 if you look at Negros Oriental
@@TooMuchTimeonmyHands65 Hi Kevin. I found it! It’s not too far from Duma (2~2.5 hr. drive) and the peaceful, country lifestyle is appealing. I hear Bayawan is very clean with lots of opportunity for spending time out in nature which I like. I’m not sure yet, but it may be slightly too isolated from amenities of a bigger city, so perhaps something in between what Duma and Bayawan has to offer. No idea if this even exists in the PHs.
Best place to live is Philippines ❤️
I agree 100%
My hubby 😘 Luis
My new friend😉
I recently heard it said that Iloilo '''is''' the next Dumaguete for expats. Infrastructure is much better from what I've been hearing and is developed much better. -- It may be an option for some ? -- Curious what he does for health insurance ? I'm already old and likely won't be able to get any coverage @ 73 ? Heard they consider you already dead past 70 ? And I couldn't afford to self insure ? Advise I've been hearing is don't go over there w/o at least $50K for any serious possible emergency. -?-
I am not the person to ask about that Frank. I do know that healthcare is pretty affordable. Go to “Vagabond Awake”. Dan just recently posted something about an overseas insurance policy
Just a two hour ride for expensive meats? Maybe its better to go native. Bangus and kinilaw for everyone!
I don’t know….i just can’t pull the trigger on meat that’s been sitting outside all day….I would get a freezer, and make a trip to Dumaguete every 4-6 weeks 😉
IM SPECIAL, WHY TRY AND FIT IN WHEN YOURE BORN TO STAND OUT...LOL
I hear ya!😉
Most of the women in Bayawan City are professionals.. and a lot of them are looking for a foreigner too.. same as me..😂😂
Thanks for subscribing! Hopefully we can meet you when we go back there in about 6 weeks
That was sort of a weird place on google map. Soo many smaller city centers.
It looks more like a REGION, not like 1 city.
It has aprox same population as Dumaguette, but geogra0hically over 20x bigger.
So much less densily populated compared to Dumaguette.
But nice to learn about areas in philippines:)
Dont want to live in big cities, to westernized. And overpriced.
Best balance is to live semi-provincial. But have access to semi-size city not too far away... for different services once in a while.
Cebu seems to westernized. Manila is toxic imo.
So Negros island and Mindanao seems most interesting.
And maybe illolo island or what its called the island north of negros island.
But mindanao is more silent turmoil risks. And also prone for earthquakes etc from what i have understood.
We actually had a 4.5 earthquake here in Bayawan 2 hours ago
I recommend Bohol
been looking at Dumaguete for a spot to land but not really happy with the population and noises going there to renew my visa will have to check Bayawan out for a couple of weeks or so live in the town of Tiaguran worng spelling cant stand it.
👍🏻do you mean Tagbilaran on Bohol? It’s a darn good alternative to Dumaguete
hinigaran
Have been thinking about Bayawan myself so I sure hope not ... lets keep the Duma drama out of Bayawan. Lets keep it out of Bacalod and IloIlo too.
Agree
Hahaha, I don’t think there are any vloggers here to start any soap operas
Been living in Dumaguete for 9 years, wish someone would come and show me all this "drama" they keep talking about, if you don't want drama stop watching all those vlogger channels, that's the only drama that I know here..
@@PeevyMctweevy You're right, Point taken_ I did use a broad brush there. And yea, I stopped watching the ones creating the drama a while back. Good to know you guys don't appreciate them much either.
ABSOLUTELY
Don from Florida,
