This is amazing. Prayer is a duty and it should be done out of a place of discipline! Another thing a brother of mine has once shared with me is that prayer is actually for yourself and not God. Prayer is to build yourself up. The more we realise that the more we see the importance of prayer. As Pastor John Piper titled this message, if you don't pray, you won't live! I thank God for this message. Amen!

His voice is so quiet, yet so loud it is deafening. My excuses prove that the Holy Spirit is screaming at me to "Pray" I am such a sucker.
I neglected prayer or played at it for many years though I knew God was calling me to it. At some point he got ahold of my heart with the help of a book written by D.A. Carson. Although I spend considerable time in prayer now, God still points to my weaknesses when it comes to praying properly. I have learned a great deal about Him and myself over time that I'm not sure I could have learned any other way except by prayer. It is difficult, deep, sometimes discouraging, but a vital discipline.

"Sleep every night? For goodness sake, mix it up!" Haha I laughed at that one. It's true, in today's culture that encourages the loosening of boundaries and rules in order to reinforce a feeling of personal freedom, it becomes easy to conflate healthy routines that facilitate obedience to Christ with legalism. So often, it is that any form of spiritual structure must mean we are experiencing bondage from being our true selves, when it can actually help us avoid that which will surely destroy us whenever we are feeling particularly rebellious or curious about the world surrounding us. Freedom with no aim only leads us to aim at everything and be sure about nothing. Yet, freely choosing biblically-sound ways to narrow our focus on Him and avoid the noise helps us see Christ more clearly, and, in return, how he reveals his vision of the real us. This issue is truly a pivotal temptation of our times.
In the morning.first I prayed then I read the word, then I stopped and drifted away.It happens so quickly, getting back on track isn't so quick.Without the Spirit it's hopeless.
If we dont drink we starve, if we dont eat...we...., if we dont exercise, the muscles atrofiers, Just as there are physical meaning of life there spiritual means of grace...Eating, Drinking, Exercising....Pray...Pray...Pray...I hate the fácil...yes... 🙏🏾🙏🏾
Praise God! Here is confirmation and reminders of those things previously and presently known and experiencing. And, here's new suggestions that are very practical and apply well to my own spiritual life in Christ. Often, I've needed to add circles to include more souls to pray for, and the events going on in the world. I have a tendency to get so caught up in--focused upon my own sanctification in prayer that I forget everything else because of the intense emotionalism involved with a deep desire to be holy as He is holy. But I fear I'm too often so judgemental of myself that I find it taking up the bulk of my prayer time. The prayer-timee scheduleing is so very true and needed. We do have a very shrewd enemy in Satan. The enemy within--the flesh is bad enough without having an enemy such as he. Yet Our God is all sufficient for all our needs: spiritually, materially and emotionally. God bless you all, in Christ Jesus.

Thank you for Mr John Piper
Lord He helps me understand like what Paul said nothing else matters but Christ! Let me live like you lived Lord ,
to seek after the things in heaven and not after the things of this world!
Let me always have a yearning desire to want to know you more and to do your Will
Glory to God In Jesus name Amen

Just read "A Call To Prayer" by J. C. Ryle and it really fit with this to help me in my private prayer.
"Sleep every night? For goodness sake, mix it up!"
Haha I laughed at that one.
In the morning.first I prayed then I read the word, then I stopped and drifted away.It happens so quickly, getting back on track isn't so quick.Without the Spirit it's hopeless.
it's hopeless because it is a mental fabrication.
help us to take this to heart Lord
It's not evil that keeps us from praying, it's good things. Wow that blew my mind when I thought about it. It's true.
Very timely! I have been blessed and helped greatly by this!
"No man is greater than his prayer life" (Leonard Ravenhill).
PRAISE GOD FOR THIS MESSAGE .
Thank you very much Pastor John.
Such a powerful reminder, thank you so much.
Amen
People find Christ when they are ready ,as adults we are to encourage them and pray for them, never give up , i hate the Devil too!!!!!
Thank God for you and your ministry. I am all about respect and love to you John Piper
i love the analogy! prayer is to the Christian as food is to the stomach! we don't stand a chance when we're starving!
How perfectly right you are my dear elder brother. God Jesus Christ is our very life we should not be living without Him even more than the breathing
That ending resonated powerfully
God bless you saint and thank you!
Please pray for me 😢😢😢
Praise the Lord
Nobody plans to fail; they just fail to plan.
Awesome word! I needed this❤️
If we dont drink we starve, if we dont eat...we...., if we dont exercise, the muscles atrofiers, Just as there are physical meaning of life there spiritual means of grace...Eating, Drinking, Exercising....Pray...Pray...Pray...I hate the fácil...yes... 🙏🏾🙏🏾
Prayers is Part of an Everlasting life in Christ.Be Prayerful Everyday, and you shall be good most of the time Everyday.
What a magnificent message.
Praise God. Yes, praying is breathing
How well he explains!!
