Hey Schneider, been bingeing Dukes, up to season 5, nearly to where you and Tom came back. I always did love this show; although, I must admit CHiPs was my number 1, Dukes was a very close 2nd. I want to be honest. I've noticed lots of slap-stick(especially with Boss and Roscoe), jokes you see coming but you still laugh till you nearly piss yourself. John, it's always good to see your videos on here. I'm glad that you and Byron Cherry are still good friends. I was glad that you and Tom came back but I wish that Coy and Vance would have been on the entire episode of "Welcome Back Bo and Luke " instead of leaving before the first commercial break. It would have been cool for all four Duke Boys to work together to defeat Boss Hoggs scheme of the week. Then Coy and Vance could have left at the end. Byron and Chris could never replace you and Tom but it was wrong the way they were treated by the higher ups in the end. Thank you for doing these videos and being the real deal.
thanks you... I did not grow up with the Duke of Hazzard but I did Discover it about 5 years ago and I love it... I am 31 years old... so a younger person can like it too....keep up the great video...

You should make a modern show in that universe just called “Hazzard” where you’re “uncle” Bo teaching the next generation to stand up for what they believe in as honorary “dukes”
Hi John!! Thank's for answer the questions about Duke's of Hazzard show. I saw the show 1 time when I was child and now I see again with my doughter. I hope to come next year at the Bo extravaganza, from the europe is not easy. Anyway, thank's for spend your time with and for the fans. Regards, Kiko Yeeee Haaaw!!!
Gotta love this guy. It's 2020 and I'm still loving The Dukes Of Hazard. Regardless of what some people think The Dukes the show was a phenomenal family oriented show. The love and respect shown between Bo, Luke, Daisy and Uncle Jesse doesn't seem to exist in these days and times. Television of today in no way compares to television of yesterday. Stay safe John😷 You are great reminder of the past and a great part of the present 🏆
John I have a few questions. 1. Why did you stop bleaching your hair during Dukes. 2. Luke wore several different shirts blue denim, blue plaid. Bo always wore tan, earlier episodes he wore a blue undershirt. The exception was “Daisy’s Song” Bo wore a red shirt. I was just curious about the wardrobe. Thanks for posting these videos.
James Best rescued her from a shelter. She was 7 years old at that time. He found a trainer he liked and trusted, Alvin Mears. They made a deal and they both then co-owned her until she died at age 14.
@Justin a They had other dogs on set. For instance they had one named Ruby who stood in when prepping the set and getting ready to film (per James Best’s autobiography and interviews). So...technically there was only one true Flash, but there were other dogs involved in various ways. I hope that helps a bit.
What was your favorite filming location John? Whether it be in Georgia or the ranches in California. What was the actual longest jump the General Lee ever did?

Always love your insights and thoughts. Keep 'em coming! :-) I liked Mayer and Cherry as Vance and Coy (respectively). They had an impossible task coming in on the heels of two stars and having to replace them and while they sure weren't Bo and Luke they still did well and kept the show going. I remember a discussion with some friends at lunch in school, after the start of the new season where Coy and Vance appeared, of who to showcase instead of Bo and Luke (or Coy and Vance) in the General Lee. I don't know if it was because I had seen One Armed Bandits recently on the summer repeats, but I thought having Dobro and Brodie would have been fun since they were established and seemed like good actors and good ol' boys for the show. :-D
Speaking of jumping the General Lee, I was speaking to Cory Eubanks at Dukesfest 2004 and he told me that the stunt crew invented a new harness rigging system on Dukes just for car jumping and it is used extensively in films and tv even today. Cory was telling me, before his record breaking jump that day, that since the seats in cars that jump are not the standard cushioned seats of regular cars but generally hard pieces of mold metal, that the stuntmen were developing back problems or injuries. So the made full body harnesses for the drivers, similar to a parachute harness, and then they had heavy duty D rings at the top of the harness on the shoulders. Those D rings were attached to short heavy duty bungee cords which were wrapped around the top bar of the safety cage inside the car. The bungee cords actually elevated the driver into the air about 3 - 4 inches. This would allow for the "bounce" of the driver upon landing the car and would prevent compression of the spine which was the cause of many injuries. The majority of the physical force would have the driver just hang and bounce in the air and if they hit the seat it would be in a limited capacity.
You are my favorite John Been fan since 78 'm going on 53 now and still watch the dukes want to know what was your favorite jump scene mine was when you first jumped the creek in general was born and the 32 car jump in carnival of thrills
Wow thank you for sharing those stories and facts. I love hearing all kinds of stories related to Dukes of Hazzard. Btw how long it took to film one episode?
Awesome! I always wondered if you actually drifted (did a 90) on set with the general. With as much experience you have driving a charger, I bet you could show us a few tricks! Hint hint...
Imagine the horror when I turned on Dukes one day, and there was these two imposters where my Bo and Luke used to be.....I could never watch again.😭💔.......Keep in mind that I was just a little girl😂
I'm a big Dukes fan. got a question about stunt driving on the show. how did they get The General Lee to go on two wheels in some stunts? it looked so cool.
I would Love to know why they never made a BOSS HOGG Cadillac in the 1\18 Scale models cars like they did the General Lee cars? & is there a chance that this could happen where they can and will make the white Cadillac convertible in the 1\18 Scale size for display? Thank you John Sniehgder?

I recently introduced my 3-year-old brother to Dukes of Hazzard. One of the first episodes he saw was "My Son, Bo Hogg." He always refers to you now as Bo Hogg
A man in the church I pastor was Byron Cherry's college room mate. John Schneider, if you see this, ask Mr. Cherry about the sofa they covered in stucco.
Hey Schneider - Why did Bo run with a limp? I watched the Dukes as a kid when it first aired and don't remember any explanation. I just got the DVD set and am near the end of Season 4 and still no explanation. THX!
@@JohnSchneiderStudios that's so funny! thx for the reply. i was genuinely curious. thinking back to when i started watching as a 6-year-old in 1979, the best part of the dukes back then was definitely daisy's beauty. now, re-watching at 48, there is so much to cherish -- rosco + jd's physical comedy, the kindness you and luke showed those guys despite how despicably they treated you, and cooter's unwavering loyalty to the duke family ... but, hands-down, the best part of the dukes is jesse's morality (praying before meals, not reading rosco's diary, not keeping the money luke found in the stream). amazing character played so wonderfully by denver pyle. may he rest in peace! stay safe, john!
Could you talk about where the idea for the gliders came from and how often you used them? Would you use the paramotor this time around? And was the 2 seater concept made privately called the Chutes of Hazzard associated with any productions? I’ve always been interested in the shows backstories.
Mr. Schneider. Dukes was one of my favorite shows and I was excited when I saw you on Smallville. One episode I remember fondly is when mr. Wopat was on and you two got into the lookalike general lee and I yelled the Duke boys ride again. My parents were like what. I said thats bo and luke duke
Love these. Question, what was the reasoning that the cast remained in the same wardrobe throughout the show? Blue shirt, yellow shirt, white suit, overalls. Thank you!
If the Duke Farm was in the family for generations; Why was Uncle Jesse always having to get the mortgage in the the bank by 3:00 (most of the time), or Boss would foreclosure on it?
Uncle Jessie had taken out a mortgage on the farm to fund building the General Lee. I think the episode " Happy Birthday General Lee" explained the story.
@John Schneider: When you’re performing a role - whether it be for a show like Dukes or Smallville - what’s it like in the moment while the scene is being shot? I mean, as an actor, do you feel fully the emotions of the scene as though you’re truly in that moment in time, or is it a more or less “shallow” feeling?
Schneider was my Fav Actor as a kid watching Dukes....Seems Fame hasn't gone to his head he's great to his fans.
He was so kind to my family at World of Wheels.
And I think it's kinda cool that John can still share these story's how he remembers the names the events. This is part of why I respect him

Yes i used to call them The fake Dukes.
Well, Bo and Luke came back for seasons 6 and 7.
I'm a big Dukes fan. got a question about stunt driving on the show. how did they get The General Lee to go on two wheels in some stunts? it looked so cool.

John Schneider what was it like working with William Smith on Million dollar sherriff episodes?
Good morning John !
Hi John. Question. What tyres were used in the General Lee when the cars were used on dirt roads? Stay safe.
Tell us about the Rolls in “Repo Men”. Which by the way is my favorite episode. Anything you know on that car and shooting that episode please inform us.

I recently introduced my 3-year-old brother to Dukes of Hazzard. One of the first episodes he saw was "My Son, Bo Hogg." He always refers to you now as Bo Hogg

Found what is claimed to be 1 of the first 2 general Lee's built that said to have been used as promotional use for the show. It's in a museum in WI
Thanks for taking the time 👍🚗
A man in the church I pastor was Byron Cherry's college room mate. John Schneider, if you see this, ask Mr. Cherry about the sofa they covered in stucco.
Hi John! If you could have filmed "Dukes of Hazard" ANYWHERE ..would you have liked to film it in another state? If so, where? Thanks!
Hey Schneider - Why did Bo run with a limp? I watched the Dukes as a kid when it first aired and don't remember any explanation. I just got the DVD set and am near the end of Season 4 and still no explanation. THX!
It was the boots. They hurt my feet!
@@JohnSchneiderStudios As I recall they were mail order boots, probably form L.L. Bean catalog. There is a lot of good stuff from there.
Could you talk about where the idea for the gliders came from and how often you used them? Would you use the paramotor this time around? And was the 2 seater concept made privately called the Chutes of Hazzard associated with any productions? I’ve always been interested in the shows backstories.
Was it a real chicken that was perched on the wooden post in front of the Duke farm? That chicken would not jump off.
Glad you came back and played Bo The dukes of Hazzard

Mr. Schneider. Dukes was one of my favorite shows and I was excited when I saw you on Smallville. One episode I remember fondly is when mr. Wopat was on and you two got into the lookalike general lee and I yelled the Duke boys ride again. My parents were like what. I said thats bo and luke duke

That's a beautiful sky.
Love these. Question, what was the reasoning that the cast remained in the same wardrobe throughout the show? Blue shirt, yellow shirt, white suit, overalls.
Thank you!
I thought he said it was so that the stunt doubles kept their characters right while they were shooting each scene. Hope I made sense?
@@travissmith5525 that is what he said in his book
What Kind Of Bows Did You Use On The Show I’ve Always Wanted One Like Yours From The TV Show. And Where Can I Get A Yellow Shirt Like What You Wore.
John how much speed to get the general Lee to slide sideways because I heard you got the break and slam the gas
How did you and Tom Wopat end up getting cast in the 1987 made-for-television movie _Christmas Comes to Willow Creek_ ?
How Did You Make The Moonshine Blow Up In The Campfire In Mary Kaye’s Baby. And What Did You Think Of Driving The General Lee Painted Green.
