Hey John, thank you so very much sharing such precious memories of the greatest tv show ever. About the horn, the reason why alot of them sound out of tune or are slow is because the electric motor draws so much amps and if it's not heavily wired or grounded right , that's what happens. On my car I changed the relay to a heavier one, changed the wires from 14 gauge to 12 gauge and made a good ground . After that it sounded exactly like the horn in the show. Hope that helps anyone who has that problem. Thanks again for sharing John.

Mr Schneider, I noticed that Grit TV plays nothing but old westerns. How about you propose to Grit TV a new weekly TV western show whereby you star in the show. Perhaps you could bring both Tom Wopat and Tom Welling in on it as well since you had good chemistry on film with them. If the writing and storylines are good, like the TV show called Laramie, then it wouldn't need a very big budget. You and Tom Welling could be the good guys that are constantly fending off the bad guys. For example, you could be the Sheriff of the town, while Tom could be very good with a gun, and therefore you'd deputize him at times to help you in fending off the outlaws, etc. Since most TV shows these days push a feminist leftist anti-God message, then perhaps your old western 'shoot-em up' could promote a manly, pro-conservative, pro-God message instead. You could bring old TV stars as guests on episodes, such as the actor that played Jess Harper on the TV show Laramie.,.. Also, from my understanding, Allison Mack has come to Christ recently. So just as Jesus saved the adulteress woman from getting stoned to death, then perhaps you could offer Allison Mack a role on your old western TV show as a gift of forgiveness and mercy. Perhaps a judge would be less likely in sentencing her to prison if he sees that she's employed and changing her life around.
Man I really like your channel Mr John. I found it by accident while showing my son some videos of a radio controlled car painted like the General Lee. The legacy lives on Mr John. Thank you for the memories of my childhood and now creating new ones with my son. God Bless. If you can't be good, be quick old friend.

You're forever a Duke to me, and of course Clark Kent's father on Smallville. Love your channel, it's nice and you make it seem personal for each fan. God bless sir.
Best Dukes episode was 'Find Loretta Lynn'' aired February 1980. Miss Lynn gets kidnapped and the chase is on with The Boys , Sheriff Roscoe, and Boss Hogg in pursuit to save her. Miss Lynn sang a tune lots of fun my favorite episode.
FYI, in 69, the Z/28 Camaro s 302 motor could be ordered with a cross ram intake with dual Holleys. A very rare option in those days. Only seen it once myself.
I'm so glad I found your channel Mr. Schneider. I know it's business, but it's done so well, and with such warmth and fun. I downloaded the Christmas Cars and enjoyed it.
Tonight's the night! Watching Christmas cars with my family tonight! So good to see an ACTUAL DOH follow up movie. I LOVE THESE VIDEOS JOHN AND I LOVE YOU
i only recently found out about that motor, 413 aint it? the cross carbs were selling for north of 400+ when i see them come up on facebook mopar pages.
It was the cross ram manifold. It wasn't on a Challenger it was a 71 Plymouth Satellite or Road Runner. If I remember right it was a Satellite. In fact in the early episodes Daisy has the 73 Road Runner but they used a 71 Satellite for a lot of the shots.
My favorite film of yours is Dream House. Loved the story behind it. Thank you for doing all these videos for Dukes of Hazzard. Love the series and hearing all the backstory from a credible source.
Yes, you ABSOLUTELY can squeal tires on dirt. I used to think that was crazy, until I was working the Pikes Peak Hill Climb (back when we had tarmac and dirt sections) and I not only heard racers squealing around the turns, but I also had my truck's tires howling when we were running timing transponders up and down the mountain when things failed on race day!
In the episode "days of shine and roses" you can see tom wopat get in through an open door after moving a barricade and john gives him a "you know we're supposed to climb through the window" look. 🤣🤣🤣
Well it would be alright in the country since people rarely steal cars (unless it's for the plot) nowadays you could probably set electric windows to go up when you lock it
John, Watching your videos brings back old times. When I was a kid I was a super fan of Dukes of Hazard. And as a kid there was a spot here in San Antonio when the school bus would go over it, the bus would kind of hop and some of us kids would yell Yeee Haww when it did. Good times.
John... totally unrelated, but tonight, I'm carrying on my December tradition and watching "Christmas comes to Willow Creek." Thank you sir, for this treasure!
John, in addition to the Dukes of Hazzard, a very fond memory I have of you involves a concert at which you performed when I was age fourteen. We were honored and delighted to have you be part of our 50th anniversary celebration of the Boys Scouts of America. I am fairly certain that no group of Jefferson Barrack’s campers, prior or subsequent to this event, have cheered louder than the tens of thousands of young men who listened, and sang along with you on that picture-perfect, summer evening in 1982. Fun fact: I think you dared to perform and Elvis hit “It’s now or never” and it seems like it’d been on the charts for a bit, but my memory may be a bit rusty; nonetheless, thank you, so much, for this cherished memory of mine.
seeing all of your videos makes me very emotional John, i really wish we could go back in time and re live those moments when the Dukes of Hazard were playing, i remember all of you and of corse who will ever forget Daisy Duke, she was so Beautiful and even though she has matured like the rest of us...she is still beautiful, thanks for all this great videos John Schneider, we all appreciate you. i can only wish to some day meet you and shake your hand, that to me would be the greatest day ever, take good care and keep on doing what you are doing, it is great to see that you appreciate your audience :-)
My question is, Were two stunt drivers killed on the set of the Dukes of Hazzard? I remember hearing back in 1980 or 1981 about this story and then it was hushed and never heard anything about it again. How true is this? If so, what were the names of those men and why had it been kept quiet? What was the stunt they lost their lives doing? Thank you.
I don't think it was stuntmen. It was a camera operator. They were shooting when the camera crew truck rolled over. They were shooting/rehearsing a chase scene.
My wife and I watched Christmas cars last week on the DVD I purchased. I also love your autograph on it as well. It was a great movie and had some of the old show sprinkled in. It also made me dig out my 1/18 scale General Lee to display. lol God Bless you and your family man.

I never thought as a kid that someday I'd be able to talk to Bo Duke on a future device such as a smart phone. John you are my favorite Duke for sure. Such an amazing dude! I rode my Dukes bigwheel until the wheels split and took it off so many ramps and made some sweet jumps lol
Hey John, when you played Ray in Christmas comes to Willow Creek, you inadvertently made my uncle a semi celebrity. My uncle Steven looked so much like you, hair and eye color with the mustache, he was a long haul trucker and drivers would ask him... "where's the yellow bird, Ray? The ladies at the truckstops would tell him that he looked like Bo Duke. He had your build, wore the sunglasses, had the bandana around his neck, lol. 80s trucker style. Just wanted to share this with you. Thanks for making my childhood awesome.
Little off topic, But how cool is it that John takes the time to indulge fans so many years after the show...? A lot of times people who are recognized for a past roll can become fed up with the success, almost to the point of anger... One of the reasons I subscribed... is John seem humble and appreciative for his success... I even feel watching Tom's interviews that he seems tired a little.. Thanks John and I love the top 5 questions you do...

John Schneider , if you are still into unique vehicles, you may want to check out a project I’ve been working on for the past few years.....it would be nice to hear your thoughts on it
Hey John! That was definitely the Max Wedge, cross-ram intake. There were racing versions of that engine setup which is what you wanted if you were a serious drag racer back in the day. The episode with the "impossible blown engine" under the hood was called Repo Man. Today of course there are blown engines that will easily fit under the hood of a 1968-1970 Dodge Charger. I'm glad you cleared up the debate over the General's paint job. So I guess there's no way to acurately reproduce the color! 😔
When you and Tom were on smallville together and Tom gets in the car by using the window did y’all have a moment from Dukes of Hazzard? And who was your favorite cousin on Dukes of Hazzard Daisy, Luke, Vance or Coy ?
The twin scoops were for cross ram manifolds where the carbs were offset feeding the opposite bank that way you can run a long ram manifold and keep the carbs under the hood
John Schneider as a kid me and my cousin watched that episode together and right as the narrator said that line it went to commercial break. We were dying. It was great! : )
Hey John Schneider, You have no idea what this show meant to me growing up. I came from a very abusive home, we had to walk on egg shells when my dad was home. For 1 hour a week, I was able to let my guard down, be a kid and just enjoy this great show called The Dukes of Hazzard. I turned 16 years old when the series ended. This TV show was the only TV I was allowed to watch growing up. I always looked forward to The Dukes of Hazzard TV night. There is a lot of actors from the show that are dearly missed. Anyways thanks to you and your fellow actors that made this show a huge success. I am currently looking to buy the complete 7 year series. Kids now a days do not know what family friendly TV was.

Dukes of Hazzard is the reason I bought my 70 Charger almost 30 yrs ago. I know it isn’t a 69 Charger but it’s almost the same body style. Do you do anything with Cooter’s Place?
Speaking of Smallville, in the episode you and Tom was in, it looked like you two were genuinely enjoying yourselves. In the scene where you pick him up in the blue 68 charger, how much of that was on script and how much was you and him ad-libbing and just having some fun?

I have a Dukes Obsession Confession to make...... They say TV doesn’t influence kids to do bad things.....well, that’s not entirely true.... You remember the episode where Cooter welded spikes on his tow truck and tore up the bad guys car? I has a “Murray King Kat” bicycle (look it up) I attached a long row of spikes (screwdriver holder rack, wall mounted) to the front fork of my bike.....one night before trash day I went out and tore up trash bags! 😂 Sorry residents of Rockford, Illinois it was too much fun!

Have never had the privilege to meet John but Tom Wopat came to our little town of 300 people many years ago and performed. Was quite a big deal for such a small town. Who remembers Daisy’s yellow car? Loved that car
I believe it was a 73 or 74 Plymouth Road Runner
In the 4 or 5 first episodes, it was a ‘73-‘74 Roadrunner. The rest of the episodes it was a ‘71-‘72 Roadrunner.
@@corvetteguy1980 sattelite painted to look like a road runner.
Yes indeed. Before Dixie the Jeep. A Plymouth Road Runner. 😎
The yellow 1 with the black stripes.
The off-set carb engines were either a 413ci or 426ci Max Wedge V8.
Hell yeah!!
I’m 53 years old the Dukes of Hazzard was and is the best tv show of my childhood.
The best show ever made
i'm 46, it was mine as well
Tonight's the night! Watching Christmas cars with my family tonight! So good to see an ACTUAL DOH follow up movie. I LOVE THESE VIDEOS JOHN AND I LOVE YOU
Sounds like a Max Wedge motor with the cross carbs !
i only recently found out about that motor, 413 aint it? the cross carbs were selling for north of 400+ when i see them come up on facebook mopar pages.
@@johnmaurer9916 yeah that purple Plymouth daisy drove in that one episode. I think it was jude emery from season 2.
My favorite film of yours is Dream House. Loved the story behind it. Thank you for doing all these videos for Dukes of Hazzard. Love the series and hearing all the backstory from a credible source.
Lot of people say hemi orange is very close. Read Corvette Red was either mixed or sprayed over the car.
Hahahaha! I never thought about how you guys would get out and roll up the windows. Lolol hysterical
Lol, yeh that made me go duuur
It blows my mind I've never once thought about that 🤣😂🤣
In the episode "days of shine and roses" you can see tom wopat get in through an open door after moving a barricade and john gives him a "you know we're supposed to climb through the window" look. 🤣🤣🤣
Well it would be alright in the country since people rarely steal cars (unless it's for the plot) nowadays you could probably set electric windows to go up when you lock it
@@briefcaseblues6061 I don't remember many rainy day episodes lol
@@TPAisBack me either lol
I just ordered Christmas Cars! About a week or so ago, I bought The Dukes Of Hazzard: The Complete Series! Keep the videos coming John!
Knowing how to squeal tires on a dirt road, that's a good old country boy there, LOL.
John, Watching your videos brings back old times. When I was a kid I was a super fan of Dukes of Hazard. And as a kid there was a spot here in San Antonio when the school bus would go over it, the bus would kind of hop and some of us kids would yell Yeee Haww when it did. Good times.
I cant believe its been nearly 22 years since Denver Pyle passed away I always say a prayer for him on Christmas day may he rest in peace ❤
I’m looking forward to watching this via download. Loved this show growing up. I wanted to be Beau Duke and drive the General Lee. Love your videos.
The Chrysler B Engine had twin offset carburetors. It made a lot of torque, because of the long intake plenums!
Awesome Q and A! The more I learn about the show the happier it makes me!
Man, this channel is making me want to get out my DVDs and go through the series again!
I feel like binge watching the Dukes series as well.
LOL! Same! 😄
John... totally unrelated, but tonight, I'm carrying on my December tradition and watching "Christmas comes to Willow Creek." Thank you sir, for this treasure!
His cover was the 1st time I heard John on the radio. I remember Casey Kasem introduce him on American Top 40.
seeing all of your videos makes me very emotional John, i really wish we could go back in time and re live those moments when the Dukes of Hazard were playing, i remember all of you and of corse who will ever forget Daisy Duke, she was so Beautiful and even though she has matured like the rest of us...she is still beautiful, thanks for all this great videos John Schneider, we all appreciate you. i can only wish to some day meet you and shake your hand, that to me would be the greatest day ever, take good care and keep on doing what you are doing, it is great to see that you appreciate your audience :-)
@@fraudbuster5232 wow didn't know that..
Brooklyn Carmelena I will address that in a few days.

thanks john for keeping the ball rolling wishing you and the family a wonderful Christmas! just ordered me a DVD can’t wait to get it! 😃👍
It's General Lee orange that should be a marketable color
My wife and I watched Christmas cars last week on the DVD I purchased. I also love your autograph on it as well. It was a great movie and had some of the old show sprinkled in. It also made me dig out my 1/18 scale General Lee to display. lol God Bless you and your family man.
The shot from repo men of the engine in the Richard Petty cars was also used in a later episode
Hey John, I loved Christmas Cars! Thank you for putting all of this together. You rock!
Uncle Jesse didn't like the door welded shut either. Yeeeee haaaw!!
@Derek Feldman Vlogs lol yeah they did but uncle Jesse would've skinned em alive if they done it
Have a great Christmas Mr.Snieder! I'm a car guy and one of my neighbora down the road has a sweet General Lee clone!.440 magnum and it autographed on the glove box by you and Tom Wopat and Daisy and Uncle Jesse!..We loved your American icon show and the General Lee will live forever...Just like the real General Lee!. God bless you sir
John probably won't see this. There is a scene that you see Tom get in and you can hear the door slam. Lol
Really love these - thank you for doing them, really.
I'm so glad you keep taking questions about the Dukes of Hazzard keeping it alive I've been such a big fan, your such a down to earth guy.
Hey John when you see catherine Bach again will you put her on one of your videos?? You guys are great merry christmas...
Thanks for making my childhood awesome.
in the episode general lee's birthday cooter say's he used a bunch of different ones to paint the general lee with
That's also how the Petty's came up with Petty Blue. They mixed several cans of whatever was lying around to get enough paint.
Cooter actually said he was thin in the paint department and all he had was a nice reddish orange!
@@100Aces your right on that when they went to get the pain he was thin and said that paint he had was a nice redesh orange season 7 first ep.
Just watched it. twice. Loved it. Very good Christmas movie to watch every year.
So where is the lake that has one of those cars in it? lol
Jeremy H. They took it out. It was Lake Sherwood, CA where they used to film Greatest American Hero.

I love it when my favorites when I was a kid come out and keep in touch.
So glad to see my childhood hero still being a hero in real life. Thanks for everything sir.
And who was your favorite cousin on Dukes of Hazzard
Daisy, Luke, Vance or Coy ?
Howdy brother
Thank you for all you do!
But ur cowboy umbrella is backwards🤟
Always good to see ya
YEEEEHAAAA
The "Max Wedge" intake has the offset carbs.
The twin scoops were for cross ram manifolds where the carbs were offset feeding the opposite bank that way you can run a long ram manifold and keep the carbs under the hood
"Now how'd you like to be in a car with a rattlesnake and all the doors welded shut?" : D
Brent Taylor Art Right?!!
Brent Taylor Art Right?!!
It’s really great that you embrace Dukes Of Hazzard and keep it alive!
Mr.Schneider I can rennet as a kid going to the world of wheels in Chattanooga and getting you to sign a autograph or you and my dvd set. It was such a time I can remember so well. Keep up the videos I enjoy it! God bless
Dukes of Hazzard is the reason I bought my 70 Charger almost 30 yrs ago. I know it isn’t a 69 Charger but it’s almost the same body style. Do you do anything with Cooter’s Place?
Thanks for the video such a great show and a great part of my childhood so awesome to hear the history 👍🏻
Speaking of Smallville, in the episode you and Tom was in, it looked like you two were genuinely enjoying yourselves. In the scene where you pick him up in the blue 68 charger, how much of that was on script and how much was you and him ad-libbing and just having some fun?
Just finished Dukes again and have recently made my way through Season 1 of Smallville. Amazing stuff.
Who else remembers the General Lee was held together with spit `n bailin` wire?
Goodbye general Lee, said by tom wopat.
Thank you for sharing all this Bo & Luke (& General Lee) Duke information with us John. I like many fans grew up watching you & I enjoyed every moment of it sir.
Sorry residents of Rockford, Illinois it was too much fun!
That had to be at least 35 years ago
Was there ever any botched stunts with the General? I did see a picture of one that rolled over.
Hahahaha!
There was a fatality on set on 1980 during a rehearsal for a chase, but the car that crashed was the camera truck.
Thank you, John, for dispelling the bullshit and getting down to the real facts and explaining to a lot of these idiots. I was just 5 or so when I saw y'all on TV, and to watch you now is just the same thrill, only grown up and understanding what you guys went through with the cars changing and low def TV. Cheers for setting it straight!
I was wondering if anything was ever done to the exhausts, like chopping off mufflers etc, or were the sounds all added in after
Both! The Transportation dept. fitted the cars with glass-pack mufflers. Some of the sounds used for the car were reused foiley from Bullet.
Love these videos. I'm red green color blind and can't really see shades of orange. I've been told several times what the "true" shade of orange was. It's great to hear that they just kinda matched it up.
Might have to go get that charger that drowned with the barge😂
Hi John regards from Mexico city I was born april 8th 1975. But you did it with ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ stars because you are a Great Star. You are one of my best stars of all the times: John Schneider, Gary Cooper, Clint Eastwood, Mel Gibson, and Tom Cruise 👍😃
surprised you haven't made an official colour chip with the major paint suppliers 'Hazzard orange' or 'dukes orange' etc.
imagine the money the paint companies would make if you did, you'd be able to paint Georgia orange with the bonus money
Have never had the privilege to meet John but Tom Wopat came to our little town of 300 people many years ago and performed. Was quite a big deal for such a small town. Tom signed my original early 80's General Lee and it has been on the mantle of our family home for years. I grew up in the 70's and 80's and really enjoyed the Dukes. In fact a poster of Daisy hang next to Farrah Fawcet in my room. Now many years later I actually enjoy watching Dr Quinn in the mornings and enjoy John's performance on that.
Hey Mr. Schneider, I'm writing to you from cold, rainy Germany, so excuse my English, my German is much better. ;-) I am currently building a general here in Germany, next is the paint job, but now I am totally confused as to which orange to take? Chevy Flame Red was planned. What color is your private general? Greetings Juergen
Hey John, we had almost as much fun watching "The Dukes" as you guys did making it. I'm 55 now and all my gearhead friends still talk about it. Ahhh the good old days. Thanks for the memories.

Congratulations on the film. I love it, it's a cracking film and I recommend people buy it and soon. It's fantastic. 😮 did you just say another one? 😮👍😀😀😀😀
A bit of trivia you might enjoy, John: The first car on screen to have a horn that played "Dixie" was in the 1974 Burt Reynolds movie "W.W. and the Dixie Dancekings". That car was a 1955 "Golden Anniversary" Oldsmobile Rocket 88, but that Dixie horn plays a part in the story.
