The wireless android auto world is so weird. Different resolutions, different speeds, some start android auto without any user input, some don't, some have a hacky USB recognition... Many thanks for the review champ!
6 months ago there were so many bugs with AA. They finally fixed a bunch of stuff and messed a few new things up but most of the issues you're talking about I'm familiar with but I haven't seen these issues for a couple weeks now.
22 4runner with with stock head unit and motorolla ma1 and I'm very pleased. I'd say 5-10 seconds and I'm connected. Very little lag on maps. Songs change with no lag.
I'm gonna give this a try because I'm in a new 23 highlander and I'd imagine we have the same UI. It is unreal how poorly the factory Android auto wireless stuff performs. My ten year old dodge charger was much more seamless, though admittedly it wasn't Android auto but rather factory GPS and Bluetooth media
The Motorola ma1 worked great for 5 months until it stopped working. I contacted customer service multiple times but no one ever responded. Unfortunate.
Not sure if it affects the test, but it looks like you have an aftermarket head unit. Unless I'm just not aware of any Toyota that comes with an Alpine head unit.
Hello, I have the same alpine ilx 705d with ottocast a2air android auto, samsung galaxy s20fe android 13. When i turn the key and the alpine it start android auto will start in 70-80 second. Why?
Only solution is to swap the existing radio with an aftermarket one that supports Android Auto. Brands like Sony, Pioneer, Alpine, Kenwood or maybe install one of the CarPlay interfaces if available for your vehicle.
I bought the AA Wireless adapter last month and its pure garbage with constant disconnects and if the app updates it will not connect afterwards and my phone is a S23U.
Even with the GM fix enabled and power set to unrestricted my problems persisted but AA Wireless gave me a refund for the unit. If you have a GM car avoid this device!!!
Is that AA wireless really that bad because I almost purchased from some one sell online. Can you describe more critical issue caused by AAwireless. Such as any delay while using fermata Auto.Tq
My car only has carplay too. The Ottocast UX2 works with iphones and Androids (android auto). I think the carlinkit 4.0 can do both too. Edit: as long as your car has carplay and your phone has Android auto wireless a lot of these devices should work.
Hey! Great vid!!!! I was planning to buy motorola before I saw the slow connection time! This is a big deal for me, however another important thing is the ability to reconnect after some time. Did you notice that reconnecting after a while is difficult with some adapters?
Yes Motorola took couple of attempts after the first connection. That noticed with Motorola, it’s hard to say at this point if the car is the issue or the Adapter itself.
I've been using mine faultlessly. It really reconnects fast. That probably depends on your phone brand /model due to the performance and your car system. My phone is a Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra and my car is a Chevrolet Tracker with "My Link 2", here in Brazil, and works just fine.

Can you still use the Toyota connect phone app and the factory phone and GPS, but use the music from the android auto all at the same time?

Just returned mine.. 20 Camry and it constantly disconnected me multiple times during my 45 min commute daily.
@Dusty McDaniel same thing happens to me with a 21 ram. Trying carsifi next

Refund?
Any update??
There is a big difference in how much these units drop their signals which is a bigger issue.

Thanks for this helpful comparison.
I have a Chinese car that has qdlink . Can these dongle change me to android auto

How do i get android auto in my car if it doesnt have it from factory 🙃 its all new to me so abit to learn

New car time a think then 🤔
next time please do also a price comparison
For Me Carsifi is TOP....15 sec connected.
what is android arrow ? just joking..
His music playlist is such a cliché haha :D
Very nice video testing them big ones.
Extremely useful video. Thanks a lot!
Thank you, I just bought the AAwireless, hope did the right buy..
Seems like lag is proportional to reaolution.
Great unbiased video

Would it work on a 2017 golf all track?😆
Which one is superior in your opinion
Thanks for the real review
My car only has Apple Carplay built in. Which of all this can work with mine car? Regards.
If the car has no Android Auto support then these adapters won't work for you.

My M1 after the first time connects amazingly fast, within 5 to 6 seconds its up and running on my Mazda CX-5
Just returned my M1.. 20 Camry and it constantly disconnected me multiple times during my 45 min commute daily.
Awesome comparison! Do you know what is the USB port on carlinkit for? Could it be used for wired carplay?
It’s there for charging the phone while using it.
Its for updating the software on the unit
I have a 22 Toyota Highlander Hybrid and I bought the ottocast 2ar and it works awesome with my Google pixel 7.
Can someone write in the comments which one was the best?
Not a clear winner, but I would go with the Motorola if I were you.
@@iSimplifiedTech thanks, purchased Motorola. Arriving tomorrow. I will be testing it over the weekend.

I'm stick to plugging in the wire as I find it very annoying to wait 15 to 20s for it to come up.
