I have a 23 New Tri glide with latest 6.5 Boom Box but not the ‘24 version. Sometimes Apple Car play works thru plugged in IPHONE to USB connector. I also have my helmet headset plugged in to its port. I do not have a WHIM or any other gadgets. I’d like to know what’s going on with this “sometime” connection to CarPlay. If buying the U2a box is needed and if it will work I’ll do it. Thanks for your informational videos. Best regards, Jeff
Thanks Jeff for watching and commenting. If you don't have the WHIM but have a hardwired headset into the infotainment system, then the U2Air will work to give wireless Carplay. I think I may have answered this on your other comment but Carplay will only work when a headset is plugged in or connected and active with the WHIM. The other key is having an Apple OEM cable or if you go the U2Air route using the supplied cable. The cables must be high quality or Carplay will be finicky. Thanks for your support and ride safe. 👊✌️👍

@jeff1839 Go to the describption section on the video. There, you will find a direct link to the U2Air pro and a discount code HDVIBE to use at check out and save $30.
@jeff1839 The U2Air pro connects just like the A2Air pro as I demonstrated in the video. You must have the Bluetooth and wifi enabled on your phone. When the U2AIR pro is plugged in, you can out your phone anywhere on the bike.
I'm so glad I watched your video I'm getting one. Another problem with plugging your phone into the bike is it comes unplugged especially when you're using Google maps and you have a turn or an exit coming up. Would love to go this route, but I get audio through my helmet's Cardo system and therefore can't pair it to the bike for this to work. I went with the wired CarPlay option instead and it works quite well. As long as you're using an Apple or quality lightning cable from phone to USB in the cubby it hasn't dropped or cut out once! Still hoping for a wireless solution but for now the wired version works for what I need it to do.
Thanks Brian for watching and commenting. Using a high quality cable is a definite must so you don't get the drops. Thanks for your support and ride safe. 👊✌️👍
I am running Cardo also. I will have my Cardo connected via bluetooth and have the car play going on the bike. I can listen to my music on my Cardo and the gps directions will go through the bike speakers. But I wonder if I start the route on the phone rather than the screen on the bike if the prompts will go through the bluetooth as well.

Thanks for watching and commenting. This will not work on a 2015 Electra Glide. As noted in the video you must have an infotainment unit that has Android Auto capabilities. I have a 2017 street glide it does not have the boom radio it is Bluetooth. Is there anything that I can use to get the Apple CarPlay to work on that please help.
Thanks for watching and commenting. Unfortunately, that infotainment system does not support Apple Carplay. You would have to have a new head unit installed on the bike to get Apple Carplay....such as the BOOM GTS 6.5 system you would fine on the 2019 to 2023 touring bikes. Or go to an aftermarket option that supports Apple CarPlay. If you are already a subscriber to the channel...thank you. If you haven't yet subscribed to the channel I'd be honored if you'd consider doing so. Thanks for your support and ride safe. 👍✌️👊
Thanks for watching and commenting. If you have an Apple phone and want to use CarPlay, you must have a headset connected to the bike or have a jumper. If you haven't yet subscribed to the channel I'd be honored if you'd consider doing so. Thanks for your support and ride safe. 👊✌️👍
Thanks for watching and commenting. You stated a 25 street glide so I'm note sure if you meant a 2015 or a 2024. So in either case, the A2Air Pro will not work with either. However, if you meant a 2024, you can use the Ottocast Play2Video Pro to get Android Auto. I recently released a video on that product if you care to check that put. However, to use the Play2video Pro on the 2024, you must have Carplay enabled. Which means you need a headset connected to the Skyline OS or have a jumper to make the system think a headset is connected. This is an Apple requirement not Harley. Thanks for watching and commenting. Unfortunately you can not use this on a 2016 Electra Glide. In order to use this adaptor you must have the BOOM 6.5 GTS Infotainment. For some reason, i cant get it to connect to my 23 roadglide . The Android Auto logo pops up, but then goes away . How do i connect it wifi ? Appreciate your help .
Are you using the USB cord that came with the adapter? If not, give that a try. Also is your phone somewhat close to the adapter? It seems like it's losing the connection to the phone. After the initial set up, mine connects without fail. On my Road Glide I usually put my phone in the same pocket with the adapter or zipped up in my jacket pocket.
I use the plug and my sena now for carplay, I have issues when I use siri to make a call it changes from my helmet to the bikes audio , have you tried this with a non Harley sena?

@@HDVIBEI have a 2023 TriGlide with the 6.5 GTS Boombox, perfectly standard on this new model. I’m trying to figure out why Apple Car Play sometimes works without a WHIM or any other gadgets. But like I say it’s a hit/miss deal if Car Play wants to boot up. Can you help me understand what’s going on here. The dealership service guys have no clue. Thanks much for your videos. Jeff
So often times the USB cord that is used causes the issues. If you are not using the Apple cord, then try that. You mentioned the WHIM...do you have the WHIM on your bike or is your headset the hardwired type? If you are using the WHIM, you need to make sure your headset is on and connected to the infotainment system...if it isn't, Apple Carplay will not pop up on the screen. If your headset is hardwired and plugged in, my guess is the USB cord you are using could be the issue.

If you are using android auto, you do not need the WHIM. But if you are using Apple Carplay, you will need a WHIM or a jumper in order for Carplay to function on the infotainment system. If you want the infotainment system to play through a headset via Bluetooth, you will need to add a WHIM to the bike. I also have a video on the channel covering how to install the WHIM. @@HDVIBE ok thanks, weird my JD dealer told me I could buy a sena/HD intercom a'd it will work without whim for music and pho'e call. Weird. Thanks anyway!
@manticora694 it will work but only be connected directly to your phone. It will not connect to the infotainment system without the WHIM. The WHIM is the module that will connect the SENA headset to the infotainment system. Then you get full functionality such as voice controlling the infotainment system etc. 👍

There should be no password needed when connecting to the Ottocast adapter. Double check to make sure your wifi from the phone is trying to connect to OTTO-XXXXX. I ran into this as well. Connect your phone to the Otto bluetooth first. I did that, and it autoconnected wifi and started working. The manual online says this. The paper copy included is worthless.
Play music over Bluetooth on a Harley is pointless. Bluetooth bandwidth is extremely narrow so you don’t get all of the sound. If you want a better, sound quality, plug it in.

Why HD doesn't add this stuff to the bikes I'll never know just a bunch of polo shirts latte drinking suits, so sad. Thabks, great video.

Can you connect a cardo or sena and have audio to your helmet?
Thanks for watching and commenting. I have the WHIM installed on my bikes which allows a Bluetooth headset to connect to the infotainment system. I used the Harley/Sena headset and listen to music through that coming from Android Auto with the Ottocast Adaptor. If you are already a subscriber to the channel...thank you. If you haven't yet subscribed to the channel I'd be honored if you'd consider doing so. Thanks for your support and ride safe. 👍👊✌️
@retiredarmyvet2018 Thanks for watching and commenting. I've never had that issue using the Harley wireless headsets with the WHIM installed on the infotainment system. I was going to get the WHIM but then I found out that it doesn't work with the Cardo. So it was going to be $400 for the WHIM then another $500 for the two helmet coms systems. I went with the $12 option. LOL! @@HDVIBE
I have a 2015 Electra Glide do You think works there
Thanks for watching and commenting. This will not work on a 2015 Electra Glide. As noted in the video you must have an infotainment unit that has Android Auto capabilities. The 2015 infotainment system does not have Androud Auto capability. You must have the infotainment system from 2019 to 2023. If you are already a subscriber to the channel...thank you. If you haven't yet subscribed to the channel I'd be honored if you'd consider doing so. Thanks for your support and ride safe. ✌️👊👍
Is this device don't required to have a headset plug in the bike?
Thanks for watching and commenting. If you have an Apple phone and want to use CarPlay, you must have a headset connected to the bike or have a jumper. The headset requirement for CarPlay is an apple thing. If you use an android phone and want to use Android Auto, no headset is necessary. If you are already a subscriber to the channel...thank you. If you haven't yet subscribed to the channel I'd be honored if you'd consider doing so. Thanks for your support and ride safe. 👊✌️👍
Nice little gadget really helpful and convenient addition for any bike with infotainment. Great idea for real.
Thanks Art for watching and commenting. Much appreciated. Ride safe and enjoy. 👊✌️👍
Does this work on a 25 street glide?
Thanks for watching and commenting. You stated a 25 street glide so I'm note sure if you meant a 2015 or a 2024. So in either case, the A2Air Pro will not work with either. However, if you meant a 2024, you can use the Ottocast Play2Video Pro to get Android Auto. I recently released a video on that product if you care to check that put. However, to use the Play2video Pro on the 2024, you must have Carplay enabled. Which means you need a headset connected to the Skyline OS or have a jumper to make the system think a headset is connected. This is an Apple requirement not Harley. If you are already a subscriber to the channel...thank you. If you haven't yet subscribed to the channel I'd be honored if you'd consider doing so. Thanks for your support and ride safe. ✌️👊👍
What's the best price i have a 2016 Electra Glide can i used in this bike
Thanks for watching and commenting. Unfortunately you can not use this on a 2016 Electra Glide. In order to use this adaptor you must have the BOOM 6.5 GTS Infotainment. That is the system that is on the 2019 to 2023 bikes. If you are already a subscriber to the channel...thank you. If you haven't yet subscribed to the channel I'd be honored if you'd consider doing so. Thanks for your support and ride safe. 👊👍✌️
Thanks for watching and commenting. I only have the Harley branded wireless headset and have not problems when using Google assistant with Android Auto. I'm don't use Carplay as I have and Android phone. If you are already a subscriber to the channel...thank you. If you haven't yet subscribed to the channel I'd be honored if you'd consider doing so. ✌️👊👍

So this would not work on a 2023 Harley-Davidson Tri-Glide Ultra?
If the bike has the BOOM 6.5 GTS Infotainment system, it will work for Android Auto. For Apple Carplay to work you must have a WHIM or a jumper installed as I mentioned in the video. Thanks for watching and ride safe. 👊✌️👍
@@HDVIBEI have a 2023 TriGlide with the 6.5 GTS Boombox, perfectly standard on this new model. I’m trying to figure out why Apple Car Play sometimes works without a WHIM or any other gadgets. My headset is plugged in and iPhone plugged to the USB connection in that cramped little cubby. I rest the iPhone in the air vent opening which works fine.
Does this have to be plugged in all the time while in use ?
Thanks for watching and commenting. Yes the Ottocast adaptor must be plugged in during use. If you are already a subscriber to the channel...thank you. If you haven't yet subscribed to the channel I'd be honored if you'd consider doing so. Thanks for your support and ride safe. ✌️👍👊
Hey there, thanks for your video, i write to you from france :p so basically with this device i don't need to have whim installed at all right ? will it work with bluetooth intercom as well ? I will have very soon an ultra limited 2023 model.
If you are already a subscriber to the channel...thank you. If you haven't yet subscribed to the channel I'd be honored if you'd consider doing so. Thanks for your support and ride safe. ✌️👍👊
@@HDVIBE oh ok, so for music and sound volume or GPS information I won't get it in the intercom or being able to decrease raise volume of the infotainment from the controllers on the handlebar? So complicated
That is correct.
hi , 2019 cvo model need jumper plug ? or plug and play CarPlay wireless adapter
If you don't have a WHIM or a plug in headset, you will need a jumper for Carplay to be enabled on the BOOM 6.5 GTS Infotainment system. Thanks for watching. @@HDVIBE already come with 19 cvo model a WHIM or a plug in headset. compatible with U2AirPro for Apple CarPlay. so, any kind of issue connection or battery power drain ?
@jd777cvo30 No power drain issues. The U2 Air Pro should be a winner for you. Just remember with Carplay you have to have the headset turned on for carplay to pop up on the screen. That's and Apple thing. 👊✌️👍
Any kind of connection or battery power drain?
@jd777cvo30 None at all. I leave mine plugged in at all times. It powers off when the bike turns off.
Does it work with the new Rockford Fosgate head unit?
If you are referring to the head unit on the new 2023 CVO street glide or Road Glide, you only have Apple Carplay available. I also believe that it has wireless Apple Carplay as part of the system. If this is not your question, please clarify. If you are already a subscriber to the channel...thank you. If you haven't yet subscribed to the channel I'd be honored if you'd consider doing so. @@HDVIBE thanks...I have a 2020 Road Glide Special with the PMX HD14 head unit that Rockford Fosgate came out with some months ago.
@abdulmateen19 If it has Android Auto or Apple Carplay capability then it should work. If you can plug your phone in and get those capabilities then the wireless Ottocast adapter should work. 👊👍✌️
WHIM should be installed ?
Thanks for watching and commenting. If you use Android Auto...whim not necessary. If you use an apple product and wsnt carplay...then you need the WHIM to enable a headset. Struggling with A2air Pro. Only will connect to calls only. No android auto.
Thanks for watching and commenting. Does android auto work when you have your phone plugged in? Have you connected the A2Air Pro to the phone first via Bluetooth at set up? Lastly do you have wifi turned on on your phone. After initial set up the connection between the phone and A2Air Pro is via wifi.

No android auto shows up on infotainment screen...any ideas? Plugged phone to usb, phone has Auto app, no auto on info screen.
Thanks for watching and for the question. Have you tried plugging in the phone to the USB to see if Android Auto pops up? You must have Android Auto app loaded on your phone as well. Also you must use the cable that came with the A2 Air Pro. Hopefully these will get you going. 👊✌️👍
@@HDVIBE, phone has AndroidAuto, tried plugging in phone to usb cable while bike was switched off turned on pwer nothing popped up. Tried Ottocast with its cable, same result. @TheRtd304 It's odd that it's not popping up when the phone is plugged in. If it's not popping up with the phone plugged into the bike, then the A2Air pro won't work either. Getting the phone to pop up Android Auto is the key.

I just Subscribed to your channel. I have Android Auto . Will this device allow my Sena 2.0 to work without wires or the jumper plug?
Thanks Randy for watching and subscribing to the channel. So this adapter will allow Android Auto to work with the infotainment system without wires. In order to get your headset to connect to the infotainment system, you need to have a WHIM. The WHIM is the way to get connections between a Bluetooth headset and the infotainment system. No other way to do so. I do have a video showing how to install the WHIM into the infotainment system so you can save the install cost. 👊✌️👍

I just bought this and when I tried to connect via wifi, it asked for a password. Anybody know where to find the password???
There should be no password needed when connecting to the Ottocast adapter. Double check to make sure your wifi from the phone is trying to connect to OTTO-XXXXX. WITH THE XXXX being some number as shown in the video. If not, disconnect everything and start the set up again. The instructions that come with the adapter are good as well. Play music over Bluetooth on a Harley is pointless. Bluetooth bandwidth is extremely narrow so you don’t get all of the sound. If you want a better, sound quality, plug it in.
