Why would House or Sinclair sign off with the nuking ? Their entire stories kind of revolve around not knowing exactly when this would happen and the repercussions thereof.
There are probably layers of obfuscation throughout vault tech. Not everyone knew of the plan. Only those higher up did. However, house and Sinclair probably guessed or predicted that something would happen. They might have played ball partially to get inside access and technical support. However… both men also planned some moves of their own. Making deals outside of vault tech with groups like big Mt or the us army, stuff that vault tech could not control. Both sides probably felt like they had more time than they actually did. So it was a scramble towards the end.
Well as we all know, vault tech was originally the ones who dropped the bombs. That was written into the Fallout Bible. And, if you really believe what you hear alone based off what House himself says, and not just echo-chambering conjecture, may wanna ask yourself why he had his own vault built into Vegas in the first place. Or why he built his own SDI defense platform into the Lucky 38. And it makes perfect sense why they would man…why would Sinclair build the Sierra Madre if he didn’t know for certain it would be a safe haven for Vera. And in-fact, he did. It’s in his logs, if you actually read them.
So no, they’re entires stories don’t revolve around that, it’s what they were planning on doing after. House would build a nation, Sinclair would protect the one he loved.
@@Limbopiod I suppose that is true. Vault tech also has been remarkably cutthroat as well as we have seen in the past. there is a ton of backstabbing and its potentially possible that whilst they were partially in on the plan, both had very different views on what they wanted compared to vault tech. Sinclair was willing to align with vault tech to ensure that Vera and the sierra madre would be a safe haven in the cataclysm. meanwhile house was more pragmatic. as he does state in the meeting that he doesn't have 100% faith that vault tech can even pull off their vision of rebuilding society, considering that just how many of their vaults are likely to just die off or fail. and further more, whilst house might have supported the vault and ensuring it could remain secure for one of vault techs 'experiments', he was likely set on making sure that it would be HOUSE, and Robco that saved and controlled vegas. that he was in charge of Vegas, Not Vault tech. it could also still have been house got the date wrong because vault tech panicked. people might have caught wind of the scheme, or an investigation might have been mounted into corruption within the company. vault tech would have been ruined or thwarted because of a government investigation. so they triggered it early.
honestly... it seems fitting. in the end, it was a scramble for all parties. vault tech had planned to survive the apocalypses, of making the apocalypses happen if they needed to and they had a date and a lot of vaults were nearly ready to come on line all over the place. then... a leak... an scheduled investigation is in play to look into what vault tech is up to. Panic. if the investigation happens, vault tech will be ruined. hell their partners will point the finger at them to save face. might as well activate the nukes. burn the world. and hope that its good enough. meanwhile house sees the nukes coming. he struggles to get defenses online, he manages to save vegas but... not all of it. his calculations off because of the timing.
meanwhile at the sierra madre, Sinclair is rushing on his own. he has to rectify a mistake he has made... he is almost there. to save vera from the fate he brought about with his own hands. an explosion rocks the sierra madre to near its foundations, and the tremor causes Sinclair to fall, breaking his body on a metal pipe... his last moments filled with regret.
I wouldn’t be surprised if vault-tec told half truths. I mean they lied about the say of the vaults,no problem with them lying to everyone in that board meeting
Robert House is one of my favorite characters, getting to see him in the show was super awesome for me.
The Ghoul is kinda hot. He has such a personality and is so complex... But also yeah sex appeal. Kind of awesome how they pulled that off.

@@Limbopiod also the billboard in the show said NCRs first capital implying a second one. I’m guessing the Hub based on how much it’s mentioned in New Vegas and by Kellogg in FO4 but that could just be my headcanon trying to cope with the fact that they blew up shady sands

Didn't really get into this series but was intrigued by some of the episode structure and ideas conveyed.
They shit on the NCR so bad in this show. Why is all the progress they did in California now rubble during the New Vegas timeline? How is the brotherhood a strong faction when they are in a war of survival against the NCR
New Vegas isnt entirely considered canon by bethesda. Parts of it are parts of it aren't. i guess in the timeline they are going for the events of New Vegas played out differently. also the brotherhood we see isnt the Hidden Valley BoS and the airship is from the east coast as is mentioned in the show

@@Tozzpot500 that’s even worse.

From my understanding of Fallout New Vegas lore Mr. House did not rebuild New Vegas until the NCR started moving in. I mean why would you teach a bunch of tribes to run casinos if no one is going to play in them. So my current theory is the ending of the season will be the start of New Vegas rather than them retconning Fallout New Vegas to oblivion.
Also if any show writers are listening, here's how to retcon your retcon with blowing up shady sands. During the BOS war the Brotherhood nuked the NCR's gold supply and tanked their economy. This was used to explain why the game uses primary caps for trading rather than actual money by Obsidian. Of course blowing up a gold reserve is a bit nonsensical, but blowing up a capital would probably be more realistic in this scenario. So retconning your retcon to have the NCR still recovering and facing the economic ramifications rather than just rolling over and dying would better.
Anyway that's my two cents, feel free to leave yours or correct me if I got anything wrong.
If they have to retcon a retcon they've already failed, SW sequels showed it long ago.

Honestly thought it was earlier in the timeline, but knowing Bethesda and their inability to write a constant timeline I wouldn't be surprised if it was somehow 1668.
I was skeptical about this series.. but you really nailed it.. the feeling of thousands and thousands of hours of playing Fallout was awakened.. the series as a game.. enjoyment.. perfect
Lucy is a great example of character development.
We all thought Vault-Tec were long gone... This show takes place after all of the games, imagine the next Fallout game now that we know the ENTIRE VAULT-TEC STAFF are still alive in Vault 31
Hahahahahaha new game???😅😂😂😂 Keep dreaming
We all knew they were bad guys but we didn’t know they were THE bad guys.
We always thought it was the enclave or groups like the legion. But it is like Maximus said, everyone wants to save the world but just disagree on how.
But it turns out it’s not just vault tech but every company is involved. I wouldn’t be shocked if Mr House was involved to just to get in control over new Vegas and turn it into his own state.
Oh shit just realized the show takes place after Fallout New Vegas. Maybe we’ll see victor. This shit is definitely gonna be popular now. Finally I’ll get to nerd the f out on fallout lore.
It's already popular lol. It's just gonna get worst now that no one who made new vegas or any fallout set on the west coast is involved in this show
@@shanenonwolfe4109 damn I didn’t think about that. No I just meant now that they have a show everyone who hasn’t played any of the games are gonna be talking about it. I was surprised they even included the NCR though. They even had the New Vegas theme song lol. I binged the whole thing at 1 am
Personally hoping for Yes Man. That would be an absolute riot if he shows up
This series was done so incredibly well. I am a massive fallout fan and this blew me away the level of detail they put into it and from episode 1 i was hooked.
It's the best game adaption and really excited for season 2
bro I was on the floor seeing the very last shot of the last episode. So fucking excited for season 2. Never ever did I expect this show to be THIS fucking good.
They need to remaster new vegas
*Remake.
Ok… I was a little confused. Was Shady Sands wiped off the map by the Brotherhood or Vault-Tec? If memory serves me right, isn’t Lucy’s Father responsible for destroying Shady Sands? How though??? There’s no way Vault-Tec has some idk leftover 200 year old nuclear arsenal? The writers need to explain this better…
You can literally find lost nukes and fire them in Fallout 76 lol, Megaton was built entirely around an unexploded nuke you could actually detonate if you wanted to, there is plenty of precedence in the Fallout world that there are still nukes around. The whole schtick of Vaults 31/32/33 is that they were expressly put in place to maintain Vault Tecs, in particular Buds', vision as to how post-war America should look, so the idea that they've tucked away 'security measures' isn't too farfetched to me, especially given the fact that Vault Tec dropped the first bomb. Not too much of a stretch imo
@@Chilipotamus Sure. Not to mention the nukes in Hopeville where the courier could nuke either or both legion or ncr. I just hope this could be explained better in the show…
In the events of F2, I can see why the Enclave perhaps didn’t do anything about the whole Vaults 31/32/33 schtick, but I’m pretty sure the Enclave were secretly controlling Vault-Tec (Government Contractor.) here and there. Check the pre-war scene where the corporations are meeting. Barb glances up at a looming figure. I’m sure they’re implying of a greater power behind the scenes that being the Enclave
So here’s my question: How come the Enclave didn’t know or use this “security measure” as you call it in Fallout 2? Why do it later in 2277 when they could have used it way earlier?
While Vault-Tec maybe separate from the Enclave doesn’t mean that the Enclave wouldn’t know about a highly valuable stash of nuclear weapons nor would give them one with good reason
Ulysses had a whole facility ready to nuke both the bear and the bull
@@luwak926 mentioned this in my reply above. However they were dormant and only the courier not knowingly delivered the nukes’ detonator, but at least from the lore bits you can read around the Divide its explainable than just getting some nukes out of nowhere.
At least give the audience some buildup or a flashback scene of Lucy’s father finding so nuke and using it
@@Chilipotamusnuking the map in 76 is literally just a gameplay mechanic lmao
I cant wait for them to really introduce the enclave and the "to the stars" concepts.
I wonder if the westworld creators are aware of the eldrich deep lore hints and radiation gods.
I wonder if Mr House will be in it or what ending of New Vegas they chose. Not sure what one is cannon?
All I hope is they didn't fuck it up like Westworld again.
Nah they killed it wit this series
I just want to know where the Enclave fit in all of this because they still exists in one of the episodes but Vault Tec are the big bad guys in the TV show and the entire franchise this time and they are barely mentioned maybe not even aware of Vault Tec plans as we don't see them at all in the flashbacks.
That guy was just one ex enclave scientist, I think. The enclave was almost all completely wiped out. Unless they've decided to retcon that, and have them be rebuilt, which wouldn't be great.
“Durr befesda gunna brung back enclave agannn ang made therm da vilan”
“Bethesda brought back the enclave but they have a minor role”
“Durrr enclave neds biger roll hurrr”
@@angelaizen2231 no it’s multiple enclave scientist and in an enclave stronghold. The enclave is the tenants of the us government so it would be stupid to only have one base.
@Leavemealone670 bro, the enclave lost every single war against the brotherhood and ncr. Their oil rig (imagine shady sands but enclave) was destroyed, the last remnants of their main fighting force were wiped out at the arroyo power station, what was left of their scientists are in nevada, know as the enclave remnants, their president was murdered by the chosen one, Frank horrigan was oblitered, the NCR killed what was left on the west coast at navarro, there is literally no possibility of the enclave getting that big in 10 to 15 years and nobody knowing anything about it.
The Enclave shouldn’t be anywhere in California as their two largest bases(Navarro and the oil rig) were destroyed and their members hunted by the NCR and Brotherhood.
There’s one scene that I just love so much is the way when they revealed that Barb was like dropping the bomb, I was shocked love they did that and especially Goggins acting I normally don’t know how good is actor is Goggins I regularly known him from Ant Man and The Wasp but that man could act. Can see him win a award
Why was Ghoul buried? Who cleaned up the destroyed vault? How didn't Lucy's father recognize the NCR leader in the vault?
I knew that Vault Tec was messed up! I want season 2 now :P
So let me give this straight, now NCR is gone because 1 nuke in Sandy Sands ?
.
This is huge in lore of game but the show didn't even take it seriously.
I mean we talking about fraction that conquer the west coast for almost a century and one day boom gone just like that ?
NCR isn't gone, scattered yes, but not gone. Jesus they were in your face in the final episode fight, not to mention the Vault 4 episodes - and you have to realize how much damage a dirty bomb could do 🤦♂🤦♂🤦♂

Nope the ghouls wife is Barbara not Betty, she was the pa in vault tec
How was Moldova still alive after all those years, was she frozen or a ghoul it was never explained.
That’s what I was wondering. She obviously wouldn’t have been in vault 31 but it never explained. Unless I totally missed it.
I’m assuming she was frozen but yeah they left some questions up in the air guess we have to wait for season 2
She created the cold fusion, they probably have their own cryo technology.

@@liveslugreaction6509 Well actually just because we see the lucky 38 it doesn't mean House is still alive. The courier could have still killed him so any endind could still be canon imo
@@liveslugreaction6509 or the Yes man version.
@@YanPagh I don't think that's the case. In the Yes man and House versions, New Vegas controls a massive army of securitrons capable of fighting off any military force including the BOS. Given the state of New Vegas from the ending, I'm leaning towards the NCR or Legion endings having taken place. It would make sense if New Vegas falls if NCR won since it would be like a domino effect when they lost Shady Sands. Whoever they were fighting during the fall, they probably were sent back to Shady Sands and were spread thin just like during New Vegas when they were fighting the Caesar's legion. Then again, they did have the actual Robert House in the flashback. It would make sense for them to bring him back in the post apocalypse and at the very least have some sort of interaction with Hank McClane with Mr. House. I guess it could go either way, but it doesn't seem to make sense to me that New Vegas looks so messed up if the army of securitrons were active and able to protect it.
I liked how coops character matched the character he was playing as a movie star when the director tells him people wanna see the nice charismatic character break and show a darker side and i feel like that happened to coop being a nice guy and loving husband who was always charismatic around people and fans, to a heartless man in the wasteland
My heart rate visibly raised when I saw that iconic New Vegas skyline. Hope we get to see some remnants of Caesar's Legion. From the end credits it seems as if New Vegas is abandoned
how could you tell my dude still looked like he was a few miles from there in that shot
Im so glad this show was good. Thank you amazon.
I cannot wait to see what these writers do with a continuation of New Vegas. It seems like they’re going with the dust route of a ruined Vegas, and I’m all in on that route. I would give anything for a cameo with Danny Trejo as Raul once again.
Shady Sands fell in 2277 but the timeline on the board til its nuked goes on a bit. Maximus was about 5 years old when he was rescued which would place things around 2282 which fits with New Vegas timeline.
honestly, seeing Mr House at the big table was already a big surprise and then seeing New vegas at the end made me sooo excited and happy. Def waiting for a season 2

For real. Riding Obsidian’s coattails.
Fuckin gutted they merkd the NCR and Decanonized Vegas
No they didn't.
@@vetarlittorf1807They did. The NCR is more or less dead and Shady Sands was nuked “BEFORE” the events of New Vegas which means NV never happened.
@@vetarlittorf1807 Sands bombed 2277, new vegas takes place 2281
I'm fine with the story. Chris Avellone talked about destroying the NCR in New Vegas since he had problems with it, but they didn't do that. You would have to read all the old notes and videos about these things from 2010 and later. New Vegas might not be destroyed since everything looks destroyed anyway but since New Vegas was protected by House and the strip was saved, from the ending look, it could be now. The Independent chaotic ending with Lonesome Road nukes launched against both sides, the writers went with that ending lol. I was hoping they wouldn't say Vault-Tec launched the ICBMs, or at least dropped or detonated Bombs, but maybe they blew up Bombs which caused the USA to launch ICBMs and then China and USSR and the rest. They were going to use that in the movie they thought about making in the early 2000s when Interplay owned the IP, or Bethesda had it and was going to say that in the movie. I would rather have it left a mystery. Also, it will be hard for all the right wing fascist bigots try and say this show is "woke" and will go broke when it is "woke" but will not go broke like most things that are "woke", which is a word they don't understand and use to hide their racism and bigotry in general. They see anyone that's not white, it's woke! Fallout like Star Trek and many other franchises that laugh and take apart conservative and righ wing fascist ideology are woke and always have been before the word was made popular. It shows us the danger of capitalism and authoritarian rule from government that is owned by corporations and shows us that no matter your features or how you were born, we have more in common with each other than the morbidly wealthy capitalist who use us to hold them up above us by exploiting our labor and giving us crumbs while they thrive. Thank you.
@@rainbowsixODST There is nothing that indicates the NCR is gone. Only that it’s facing problems. In fact, the destruction of Shady Sands actually adds context to why the NCR was under-manned and under-supplied in New Vegas and why Brahmin Barons needed so much protection from raiders.
This show captured fallout in a way that I didn’t expect. I felt like I caught every little thing and it absolutely blew me away. I probably missed a bunch of Easter eggs tho.
That scene with the shows rendition of the Fallout New Vegas theme playing as Lucy pulls the NCR flag up is amazing. I wasn't upset they didnt have the Fallout theme as the shows intro but it was definitely something that would've been awesome, but hearing it in small bursts like that is way better.

Well, regardless some changes of the lore from the games (which the games also changed it from CRPG ones), I think this is definitely one of the best video game adaptation show. It certainly better than Halo & Witcher. It actually keep the spirit & vibe of Fallout, at the very least the modern ones from F3 & so on.
Indeed... War... War, never changes...
Hey I have doubt, Howard's(ghouls) wife also a part of that shady sands right she said the plan of the bomb right?
Today's advice: if a show is bad, you do not have to watch it until the end.
The show was great. Here are three things that makes the ending Terrible!
1. NCR Capital (which has 90% of their population) WAS BLOWN BEFORE Fallout New Vegas, meaning that The NCR in New Vegas is DUMB for not helping their people and focusing on taking hoover dam.
2. Moldova (the lady) being head of NCR… WHY??! Who is this 200 year old chick?! Why would the barons elect her as head of NCR?!
3. FALLOUT NEW VEGAS ENDING IS RUINED. ONLY ONE reasons Hank goes to New Vegas: meet House.
Cause you know, House was part of that corporate meeting that Hank (Henry) was involved with.
BUT IN MY playthrpugh I killed House… And The Legion…. And Never sided with yes man… so WTF?!
@@KumarAnshs i don't think moldova was the head of the NCR i think she just lead them after the fall. I also think that they could fix the whole timeline issue with new vegas by explaining that the fall of NCR happened over a period of time and that it STARTED in 2277, but that they weren't nuked until after 2281 (FNV) this would make sense as in new vegas the NCR is already starting to collapse unless you side with them to win the 2nd battle of the hoover dam. But your 3rd point is kind of valid as it means that house can't canonically die in fnv, but i personally don't have an issue with that. That could still mean that house didn't win though, or the legion didn't win, or yes man didn't, or one of them did, but we would know for a fact that at some point during fnv the NCR fell and after the events of new vegas shady sands was nuked. but i definitely think the ONLY was this can be fixed is if they differenciate between "the fall of shady sands" in 2277 meaning that they're society was just beginning to collapse instead of them actually getting nuked that early
@@zachsaccount323 Three reasons why your argument doesnt hold up, and I will use FNV to prove why, but if you do not want to read all this please just realize this: The Bombs Did Fall BEFORE New vegas. It is plain and clear, here is my argument(s):
1: The Bombs Did fall in 2277, they referenced it over and over and even showed us a whiteboard of events. This means the NCR in new vegas should be the Only NCR left. But Chief Hanlon is so keen about sending the boys “back home”.. what home?
But lets say it didnt, lets say i give you that. That still makes Shady sands society not slow down or break apart naturally, cause NCR was at their prime during 2277. Their Golden age. They took Hoover Dam (thank you Chief Hanlon), they expanded far and wide, they have powerful barons and their bureaucracy is tip top. They are not one city, they are a Nation. But, I am supposed to believe NCR did not re-establish Shady Sands after the bombs (during the time of New Vegas)?
2: Moldova is seen BEFORE Hank blew up Shady Sands, she is working with Lucys mom. Why would a 200 year old woman want to meet Lucys mom? Why would Lucys mom trust a random 200 year old woman? Why didn’t President Kimball (who was alive and is president during 2277) meet with the girls and devise a plan to take out Vault 31 earlier? Answer is because Moldova holds a key position in the NCR and most likely in line to the presidency if Kimball were to die…. Hmm 🤔
But lets say I give you that as well, maybe Moldova is just some regular worker or not so important but still important person in the NCR, fine. That doesn’t change the fact that the NCR is a nation and has many leaders who should be incharge of the blown up Shady Sands. Who gave Moldova authority to be the head of that NCR faction?
3: If House is dead, Hank will meet the Courier. If House lives, Hank will meet the Courier. But, the God himself: Todd Howard said the show would not mix with the game… also Hank would NEVER see the NCR or Legion cause they are now IRRELEVANT. We never hear of the legion making havoc even though they control nearly 5 States: (Arizona, Northern part of Texas, Colorado, some parts of Nevada, some parts of Utah)…. Sooo, WHERE IS THE LEGION?!!
If the NCR is gone as the show keeps on saying, then how is it possible for them to hold Hoover dam and New Vegas? How? Makes no sense, no man power, no government funding, no nothing.
Either House won, or Yes Man won. And I refuse that Hank (15 years after Fallout New Vegas) would go to New Vegas without knowledge of meeting House.
@@KumarAnshs 1. was that the case Finn I mean, Maxc would not be his age, SS was bombed a couple of years after nv.
2. She was defrozen just like Lucy's father. We will probably find out on season 2.
3. FONV had four original endings. This has narrowed it down to possible 2, yes man or house.
In YOUR playthrough, I always sided with house except when I was chasing completion.
So turns out, instead of picking up topics of distrust with the government, extinction of resources and destructive nature of humanity, topics that were prominent in original Fallout games, they went with "corporations bad mkay" and added a bunch of very predictable twists and 101 characters. Not surprised.
If you use the broad definition of a "government", the TV show explores it well with Norm's character arc, as he frequently conflicts and questions his vault's authority, leading him to finding secrets beyond his depth. I didn't like how quickly they cleaned up the mess of Vault 32, but it's a minor cost for the bigger revelation in Vault 31.
Extinction of resources is explored practically throughout the whole story as its centered around Cold Fusion - and the one moment where Max had to give up the fusion core for his power armor to give it back to the people of Vault 4 was rather touching, as you could see his hesitation to give it up.
I thought the twists were pretty good and served to develop our discovery of The Ghoul's character well, and pretty much what made him into the person he is. I really liked the moment when he hears his wife speak about dropping the bombs, and you could figure out why he didn't want to do the thumbs up in the beginning of the show.
The main characters are well-written and have flaws, like the scene where The Ghoul questions Tommy whether or not he will take revenge, tells me a lot about his ruthless nature. And Lucy who throughout the show always wanted to be a do-gooder, eventually realized that it is not enough to survive in the wasteland, but its eventually revealed that not all her moments were in vain (like freeing the ghouls of Super Duper Mart, who she catches a glimpse of at the final episode). With that said, I still have reservations about Max, sometimes it just feels like either he isn't trying hard enough (like not carrying a machine gun instead of a pistol) or is pushed and pulled by dumb plot armor/conveniences (his inability to kill Thaddeus early on, getting his feet stuck in the fight against The Ghoul)
@@mistermorphescarnoe2898 To summarize your point to this guy, he really needs to watch the show to understand really how quite good it was in execution, right?
Lorewise, this does have a lot of loopholes but it was a treat. Don't judge a book by its cover just from how some UA-camr talks about it's ending cause that's no fun.
@@jomteji4760 Yes, the loopholes are hard to dismiss but the overall experience is 👍
I dont think you fully appreciated it just rather looked for a reason to complain
@@ethangilbert4896I don't understand why so many people are trying so hard to defend an adaptation instead of discussing what they did wrong.
The good points that I heard from people defending the show are that the acting is good and that they like all the references to the games. From a stand alone story the actions of the characters don't make sense.
For example:
-When did ghouls need rad away to not become feral?
- Maldever is basically a cult leader/figure that kills innocent people for no reason.
-The writers tried to subvert expectations by flipping the script in the last episode
-Vault 31 has only cryopods and a brain in a jar, so who cleaned up Vault 32?
-Lucy's mother overreacting and bringing Lucy and her brother outside the Vault (I understand that Hank is from Vault 31 and that maybe his wife found out some kind of experiment they wanted to do, but I doubt Hank is willing to sacrifice his children)
-If Hank is the villain that he is I would expect that he would be intelligent enough to lie or at the very least not overreact when trying to convince Lucy that he is innocent also why did he give the password
-Lucy believing Maldever without question (whoever wrote this part must have been more antisocial than me because even I recognized that if someone kills a dozen of people I knew, the last thing I would do is believe them)
Finally I would say that if the creators of show would just say that there is no connection between the TV show and the games that's fine but if you claim a connection then I think that fans have the right to complain, because if we don't then we deserve TV shows like Halo.
SInce it's New Vegas, I believe Hank is seeking help from Mr. House instead, as the sole leader of New Vegas & Rob Co.
It would be great if Benny is still alive.
Iv just completed the season and its absolutly amazing. One of the beat imo. Every aspect is just perfect
So instead of building up lore they destroyed it in one season. Loved how they left out all the lore leading to the great war like the resource wars, just evil capitalism just wanting money.
There was literally no Fallout lore included in this show.
