    Just a note: It's easier to just remove the MB first then the connections and in reverse for the replacement. This way you're not working in a tight spot.

    Thank you for all the help! I was able to get my mobo installed, and after a slight SNAFU with the firmware I was up and running in a couple of hours. I took my time to make sure I got everything right. It's so quiet now that I have to check the webcam to make sure it's actually running :).
    One observation I have with the new setup is that the PID seems to fluctuate a lot more on my bed and nozzle heating. When I look at a temperature graph from a previous print on OctoPrint using the old motherboard once it hits the desired temp it sticks there pretty well. I'm seeing quite a bit of "hair" on the graph after updating the motherboard and firmware. I'm not sure what is causing the PID not to be able to settle, but something has definitely changed. It's staying within 1% of the desired temperature, so I guess that's good, but I'm concerned that it's not tracking as closely as it was when I had the previous setup. The only difference other than the firmware and hardware upgrade is the fact that I finally plugged in the filament sensor. I can't see how that would make the PID less stable though.

    • @BitwiseMobile
      @BitwiseMobile 2 роки тому

      I tried installing Marlin and ran Auto Tune for the PID. That only made things worse. It went from a +/-6 degree fluctuation to a +/-15 degree fluctuation. I re-flashed the original firmware, but am still seeing the issue. Someone on Reddit said it might be a loose cable, so I'll check them all in the a.m. I was so excited to have my SUPER quiet printer running and I really hope this is something a simple as making sure a connection is seated properly.

    • @BitwiseMobile
      @BitwiseMobile 2 роки тому

      Okay, I went in and reseated all the connectors and made sure that no insulation was being pinched. I think the yellow wires had some insulation pinched. After doing that the ripple went away. Whew! I thought I was going to have to return this board.

    Beanie, I've gone to the creality website looking for the CR-10S software for silent motherboard. There is no line item for a CR-10S. The CR-10 Smart and the CR-10S5 and the CR-10 V3. None of these are correct. when I turn on my machine, I just get a blank screen, so the silent mainboard was not programed. I am not finding the software in the notes and you jump very quickly with where the programs are listed and I cannot figure out where you got the software. Installing on my cr-10s with BL-touch. Since there isn't a hex file for a cr-10s with BL-touch, what are my options?
    Currently I can think of two:
    1. Edit the hex file and enable the bl-touch (not sure if this is possible).
    2. Build a new version of marlin for the cr-10s but enable the TMC2208 drivers.
    a. Is it correct to use the configuration file for the cr-10s since the board will be different?
