I’m just adoring Eleni lately, I’m glad it’s still uncommon, especially with how much love Ellie gets! I also love Rosalind, Odette, Elysia & Blair! So many good ones on this list!
Odette is the name we have for our daughter due next year. My maiden name is Swan, so it is kind of honour to that as Odette is the Swan princess, and the Swan in Swan Lake.
Elysia is my baby's middle name. Lily Elysia. Sometimes I wish I switched the names, because there's Lilies everywhere while Elysia is seriously underrated.
would love the boys version and maximalist names for both genders too :) I had a cat named Tigerlily growing up, I was so surprised it was on the list, love it!
Carmen , Amyra, Opal, Rosalind and Carys, Pia, Cosima and Zola are all simply stunning! I also think that Dusty is a super fun and cool one for a little girl, although I am more likely to use it as a short form for the name Dustin, which I have long liked for both genders.Lately, I have been really crushing on the names, Gwendolyn Opal and Carys Genevieve.
Love Enid ,I debated it for my daughter but wasn't sure if it was too different or old name vibe. I also had an elephant cuddly toy growing up called Enid. Enid didn't make the short list but I do still really like it ,very pretty
Blair is actually quite common name in Scotland. Know a good few from all ages and from different places. In family, school classmates, kids I've looked after. More common with boys.
Great list! I’m in the US and I know a lot of people either with these names or have called their daughter these names. Funny how trends vary across the pond! 🥰
Yes, it's been interesting to see names that have been popular here in the US be unique there, and vice versa. I've also noticed that they sometimes flip generations. There was a name (Jennifer I think) that she was saying I'm an older video was starting to get popular in the UK, which was funny to me since it was incredibly popular when millennials were being born.
Carys and Cassidy have always been two of my favorites. I can't believe they're so low! Edit: Wait - Rosalind is my #1! I've always wanted to make a daughter after Rosalind Franklin, who discovered DNA but had her findings stolen from her due to being a women in STEM. I'd use the nickname Lindy
Love your videos so much! We named our little girl Romilly, born in 2020, after hearing it on your videos. I think I’ve watched all of them 😆 thank you for all the wonderful name suggestions, so glad I found your channel and found the perfect name for our little girl xx
Love Marla! I love Maren/Marin too which is similar meaning. Also love Eleni, Blair, Dusty, Lowri, Shiloh, Cassidy, Coral, Bowie, Trinity (& Liberty), Bodhi, Darby, Pia, Pandora, & Artemis. Kinda like Xanthe too ... Noelle and Tigerlily are each of my little girl's middles. Love Posie soo much more than Rosie too!
Ohhhh 😍 My daughter’s name is Tigerlily June. ❤️ Both of them are on your list this week. She was the only one here in 2020 (The only Tigerlily that is)
I’ve just had a baby 2 weeks ago and named her last week as we just couldn’t decide but we finally decided on Savannah but we were very close to naming her Sayla ❤
I LOVE the name Ellis. Really into it recently. Could also be honoring someone called Elisabeth. I just think it's cool, gender neutral, not too popular. Lots of great names on this list. I'm surprised about Blair being so low on the list, being a Gossip Girl fan myself. I've always thought it's a beautiful name.
I know this is about girl names, but when you said Torvi i thought you said Torby which reminded me of my friend Torben who goes by Torby and i think it’s such a cool name
I just added Rosalia to my list last week, after scanning my distant family tree and finding one! It’s soo stunning! I pronounce it ro-ZAH-lee-uh. I also love Eleni (I adore the nickname Nell), Lowri, Noelle, Rosalind, Greta, June, Gwendolyn, and Magdalena. Some other cool under 50 names I love: - Amity “friendship” - Luciana “light” - Olga “holy” (my grandmother’s name) - Rue “herb/street/regret” - Seraphina “fiery one” - Vivian “life” - Luscinia “nightingale” - Caroline “free woman” - Charity “generous love” - Tilda ‘battle mighty” (got this one from the podcast!) I loved this list so much, I’d love to see the boy version!
The name in my family tree is the Polish form Rozalia (ro-ZAH-Lee-a) and I love that pronunciation but the spelling might cause issues so I prefer Rosalia ;)
Hey my name is Marta! I've been waiting to hear my name in your lists! It's unusual in the US if you're not a part of the Spanish speaking community, and it's also more well known in parts of Europe. Occasionally someone will tell me they know another Marta, I've only met two others and I'm 30. Sometimes it's mistaken when spoken as Martha or Marcia, so I usually have to say "Martha without the H", it's not a big deal. I almost always get compliments on my name when I introduce myself.
I’m one of your visually impaired viewers ✨Thanks for thinking of us in spelling out the difficult ones. Working on naming our second little one. Love coming up with new out there names to startle my husband with. 😂Thanks for all the great ideas. Would love to see a similar one for boys.
My granddaughter is called Rosalind. I love it such a pretty name. She calls herself Rozzy as she can’t pronounce her full name yet (she is only 20 months old).
Thank you, yes it is very appreciated when you spell the more unusual names! Isn’t Tigerlily the indigenous princess in Peter Pan? Speaking of modern for two names, I have a new coworker named Serene, and I think that is just so pretty!
We strongly considered Esmeralda for our little one born October 2021 but my heart just wasn't in it, despite LOVING the nickname Esme. We 'created' the name Esmeria instead so we could still use the name Esme for her. After all that, we actually call her Essie 99% of the time 🤣 really suits our spirited now 1 year old! Also considered Cosima but we couldn't agree on pronunciation. I loveee 'Cosy' as a nickname.
Soooo many great ones on this list! My favorites are Coral, Gwendolyn, Blair, Romilly, Carys, and Elysia! Posie drives me nuts because Posy is a real word and I can’t understand why so many people are misspelling it all of a sudden!!
Agreed! Posy is on our list but dont know why people put Posie - its almost a plural but not quite. Or worse, Posey which means 'theyre very Posey' rather than a Posy of flowers
My good friend had a baby last year and named her Gwendolyn! A lot of people had negative reactions when I told them (she didn’t announce it online, so people asked me the name) but I absolutely love it! We call her Gwen or Gwennie and it’s soooo cute on her 💕 I don’t know why they chose it but I think they wanted a long form of Gwen. Before she was born they were stuck between Gwen or Freya, and I think I put them off when I told them Freya was in the top 10, she had no idea it was popular! It’s funny how she ended up giving her a name so rare
@@steffi9536 I think a lot of people struggle to imagine “old person” names on babies, especially uncommon ones. It’s a perfect name for her though! It’s Welsh and her parents got together in Wales, and it means white haired or white eyebrow, and she does have very white blonde hair and eyebrows! I also think a lot of people expected my friend to pick something basic eg Sophia or Lily as she’s not someone who particularly cares about seeming unique or quirky, so picking an unusual name was kind of unexpected of her
i love the name Tigerlily, love the Peter Pan association! Xanthe is one of my favourite names and i'm surprised it's so rarely used. Eleni is so pretty and Posie is adorable - i prefer it spelled Posy though, and i think it is likely more popular if you also take that spelling into account. 💕
I just came across the name Ilayda for a little girl, which I believe is Turkish for " water fairy"and I could not believe how pretty it was in sound and meaning! I think it could be a sweet alternative to names like Isabella or Layla.
Growing up I was the only, let alone female, Ellis in my schools. When people would hear it they’d always compliment it and say how unusual it was. I want the same type of name for any future baby girls I’m lucky enough to have. I love love love Romilly. It has always been on my list since I first heard it about 15 years ago. I’m yet to convince my other half on it though sadly 😢.
My baby girl is called Maude, have you used this on any of your lists? I’ve had people even ask me if I made it up! But I think it’s a lovely older one 😊 xx
I love Eleni. I’d assumed it would be pronounced El- lay -i like Elena rather than Eleanor. I know a Lena and it’s pronounced Layna but I do like both pronounciations
Yes!!!! ❤ love love Carmen, Carys, Luna-Rae, Dusty, Shiloh, Noelle, Greta, Opal, Bowie, Priscilla with the nn Cilla, Trinity, Bodhi for a girl is COOL, Nikita. great video sj!
Amyra is similar to what I want to call my daughter if I have one - Amarya ❤ I liked the names Amaya and Amara, but couldn't decide which I preferred, so I combined them. She'll be Ama for short 😊
I absolutely adore Tigerlily!! Also, when I was born I was given 2 English names and 2 Hebrew names. My English names are Hillary Dee and my Hebrew names are Chaya Devorah. The ch is a hard guttural sound, and Devorah has a long Ō sound.
Love this video! Love these names, right up my alley. We are trying for #2 and if she’s a girl would love to honor my grandmother who has passed. Her name was Shirley Jean. But I’m not a fan of using either of those names. I really liked Shiloh from this list, but what could some others be along that line of using the S or Sh but unique?
Carmen is so underrated! It's got everything going for it. Love love love Blair, Carys, Artemis (this was my cat's name and my friend named her baby this just this spring!) Harriet, Elysia, Enid (MY FAV 💖) Rosalind, Xanthe, Ariadne, Ellis, June, Esmeralda, Opal, Pandora, Odette, Rosalia, Uma, Coral, Magdalena, Pollyanna, and Cosima! My partner has not one, but two aunt Debbies (one from each side of the family, I think one is Deborah and the other is a Debra.)
The name Xanthe has been my favorite girl name since I read it in a book when I was 15. I love that it is also a Mythological name, it is one of the Oceanids. But I would pronounce it different in my language, the X would have more of a ks sound and the a also is pronounced different for me. If I have a girl one day I would really like to give the name, but it depends on my husband. We already have a baby boy whose name is Odin. And I still love the name and get a lot of compliments.
So crazy the name Hadley popped into my head the other day and I thought how cute it was and I've seen a truck and this video with the name since, wondering if it's a sign lol I've never seen or heard of the name before either!
First time I’ve seen that my name has made it onto one of your lists! You don’t come across other Lornas super often. It’s nice to know the it means Fox though - I believe the old Gaelic root means lost, abandoned or forsaken which is a bit less positive!
Im an alison n its my generation that are alisons..born 74 ..i was named after 70s actress alison steadman..n was thinkin the other day i dont hear my name used now n here we are..such a shame ..
The “19 Phoebes spelled wrong” is so crazy to me! Imagine doing such an important task that will affect the next 100 years of your dearly-loved child’s life, and you can’t be bothered to google the proper spelling?
My current fav names for girls: Circe (ik, game of thrones…. But wtvr) Dardyn (dahr-dinn) Spade Torvi (paired with Twyla for twins) Levi Gentlie (it’s a love or hate…) For boys: Acasius (Casey!) Dauntly
😍 my favorites are Elysia Enid Rosalind Odette And Gwendolyn I would LOVE to see a boy version of this. Also current fantasy names, GOT, ROTR, and Si-Fi names that aren't super obvious 😅 we are big nerds but can only get away with so much 😂
One of my sons best friends is Eleni, such a pretty name! Not double barrelled but my youngest babies middle names are Luna Rae . Cassidy is going on my list (not that im having anymore babies 😅)
I chose my little girls name from one of SJ’s lists. Baby Felicity Evangeline was born last month and she really is such a happy baby.
Congratulations.
Such a beautiful name! 💕
What a beautiful name 🤍
That was on my list, too. ❤
Such a pretty name with such positive meanings. Love it.
Congratulations such beautiful names for a no doubt beautiful baby girl
I’m just adoring Eleni lately, I’m glad it’s still uncommon, especially with how much love Ellie gets! I also love Rosalind, Odette, Elysia & Blair! So many good ones on this list!
It's gorgeous isn't it! ELeni - so pretty and special x
Ooh I love the spelling Eleni as opposed to Alenni because people would call her Elle rather than Al
My name's Eleni and I love it :) my nickname is Ellie
I love pastel colors, so I think Pastel would make a beautiful girl name
Would love a boys version! Loved this list! ❤❤❤
I can't recall if I've ever seen this name on your lists; Leonora. I think it has a similar origin to Eleanor . Really love that one
Oh yes please do the boy version!! This was a great list💗
It was so interesting to see the bottom of the charts! Yes I can’t wait to see the boy version! X
Yes please, do make a MAXIMAL names list!
Also, please hurry up and make a WELSH names list too - waiting impatiently here!
I know!!!! There's so many amazing names!!! :-)
These are my type of names! Both my first and middle for a future little girl are on this list haha. Hope they don’t get too popular!
Oh now I'm curious - ha ha! x
Soo many of these are on my list! Magdalena, Ariadne, Opal, & Rosalind being some of my favorites 💜 I would love to hear the "under 100" list as well!
It's a lush list isn't it!! xx
I was shocked opal was so low!
My daughter is Rosalind Faye ❤
I have a four year old Magdalena! We love it and call her Lena
would love the boys version and maximalist names for both genders too :) I had a cat named Tigerlily growing up, I was so surprised it was on the list, love it!

Magdalena has been on my list since I was a kid and it’s often overlooked. So many nickname options, but I would call her Lenni.
Zola is close to my daughter, Zora! I watched this channel religiously to find a name two years ago 💖
Oh yes I love Zora too! Awww welcome back :-)) xx
I named my cat Zora after the author about 3 years ago now . Crazy to see that name coming up now love it
Do the boy version next please! Boy names are so much harder than girl names!!
We need a secret Disney name list!!
I absolutely fell in love with Eleni the first time I heard it, such a beautiful name :)
We named our daughter Helen back in 2016 and couldn't believe she is one of only 56 I think it was.
Wow yes it's not that common anymore, she'll love having a unique name and won't believe it used to be so popular!

Noelle and Tigerlily are each of my little girl's middles.
Love Posie soo much more than Rosie too!
I have dusty on my list too and Cora ! Also ahhhh tigerLilly that’s so sweet love that!!!!
Whaaaat? Less than 50 Harriets born in a year? I thought it was pretty popular at the mo! Learn something new every day!
You hurt my soul just a little bit because Tigerlily is the name of the indigenous princess that Peter Pan saves, not the girl in Jungle Book
I love uncommon an unique names I’ve just had a little girl and called her Elodie Jayne xx
I named my baby girl Elowen, Winnie as a nickname 🥰 have never come across another, yet it gets a lot of complements.
Beautiful name ❤
I love that!
Pretty common in Cornwall!
I wanna name my baby girl this so bad. But husband dosent like it. RIP
Ohhhh 😍 My daughter’s name is Tigerlily June. ❤️ Both of them are on your list this week. She was the only one here in 2020 (The only Tigerlily that is)
I ADORE Enid but it’s a town not too far from me, here in Oklahoma! 😭
I think Tony Blair ruined Blair and thats why its so low
We named our daughter Romilly in March! She’s part of your birth announcements! ❤
I know this is about girl names, but when you said Torvi i thought you said Torby which reminded me of my friend Torben who goes by Torby and i think it’s such a cool name

I also love Eleni (I adore the nickname Nell), Lowri, Noelle, Rosalind, Greta, June, Gwendolyn, and Magdalena.
Some other cool under 50 names I love:

- Luciana “light”
- Olga “holy” (my grandmother’s name)
- Rue “herb/street/regret”
- Seraphina “fiery one”
- Vivian “life”
- Luscinia “nightingale”
- Caroline “free woman”
- Charity “generous love”
- Tilda ‘battle mighty” (got this one from the podcast!)
I loved this list so much, I’d love to see the boy version!
I always think of how SJ pronounced Rosalia, but all the moms of girls with that name told me it's how you say it. Very pretty name!
I've also seen the variant Rosaelia
The name in my family tree is the Polish form Rozalia (ro-ZAH-Lee-a) and I love that pronunciation but the spelling might cause issues so I prefer Rosalia ;)

Sometimes it's mistaken when spoken as Martha or Marcia, so I usually have to say "Martha without the H", it's not a big deal. I almost always get compliments on my name when I introduce myself.

I have a child with a middle name Artemisia- not only a plant name but a big nod to Artemis :)
I’m one of your visually impaired viewers ✨Thanks for thinking of us in spelling out the difficult ones. Working on naming our second little one. Love coming up with new out there names to startle my husband with. 😂Thanks for all the great ideas. Would love to see a similar one for boys.
Tiger lily is not in junglebook. It's the native american princess in peter pan. The girl from junglebook is named Shanti. Originally she had no name
Cassidy is my top girl name with the nicknames Cassie or Sid. Although I’m pregnant with a boy so now need to find a name I like as much.
Ooooh sid is such a cute nickname - I'll do the boy version. I can't wait to see what's on there. x
My youngest girl is Cassidy 🤗 I like Cassius for a boy too x
I love Cassian with the nickname Cass. There's also Cassio and Casper. I think Isidore could have Sid as a nickname too.
I've always thought Cassidy was gender neutral, I think it makes a good boy name they could be Cas or Sid.
Could you do a science/mathematics themed list?

Rude.

Tiger lily is also from Peter Pan I believe! And I actually know a Torvi baby girl here in the U.S.

I’ve always loved the names Arelette and Alexia for girls but I worry about Alexia becoming popular in the next few years.. loving the videos !!! 🤍

Crazy to think I know so many girls with these names, I’m a 2010 baby so I guess they were more popular then
So crazy the name Hadley popped into my head the other day and I thought how cute it was and I've seen a truck and this video with the name since, wondering if it's a sign lol I've never seen or heard of the name before either!
There's also Adley
My parents made a unique choice 33 years ago and it looks like it's still a unique choice. But personally I'm okay with that. Lol
First time I’ve seen that my name has made it onto one of your lists! You don’t come across other Lornas super often. It’s nice to know the it means Fox though - I believe the old Gaelic root means lost, abandoned or forsaken which is a bit less positive!

I’ve always heard Cosima pronounced coh-SEE-ma, much prefer it pronounced that way
The “19 Phoebes spelled wrong” is so crazy to me! Imagine doing such an important task that will affect the next 100 years of your dearly-loved child’s life, and you can’t be bothered to google the proper spelling?
