G'Day! Heater failure is something that happens way too often and causes way too many aquarium deaths, I am a huge advocate for Inkbird Temperature controllers and throughly recommend using them to safeguard yourself. Very informative - thank you. I am interested in getting one of these. I have 2 Eheim 300W heaters and was wondering will these work with the Controller and what temp should these be set at as they have their own thermostats? It's for a tropical freshwater 6ft tank. Thank you.
Last week I lost 30 fish in a 55 gallon tank due to a digital Chinese heater shorting out! I replaced the heater with a Fluval 200 watt and a 306a heater controller. I don’t ever want to experience that loss again!
I have had many heater failures over the year, the latest killed a tank of Sulawesi shrimp if I try them again I will be using an inkbird temp controller.
Nice one Blake! Just got sent one of these by Inkbird the other month. Such a handy product that ensures your aquarium shouldn't overheat. No more sleepless nights! 😅
I got one back in March. Found it a bit awkward to connect to my internet but once that was done gives great piece of mind. Think it's a great piece of kit. 👍
Thanks Blake. You just convinced me to buy a couple of units to protect my discus tanks. Thank you for the discount and keep up the amazing educational content.
Using an Inkbird has allowed me to make a DIY inline heater out of an Eheim Jager. I don't have to worry about calibrating the heater, I just crank it up and connect it to the controller that monitors the actual temp in the tank. I like Inkbirds so much, I have one set on a tank without a heater in it just so I can easily read the temp from anywhere in the room.
I have inkbirds on all of my tanks. The one on my sump controls 4 heaters so they switch on and off together. Also you can adjust how much the temp drops before the heater activates, which can reduce switching cycles and prolong heater life. The low temp alarm on the green one can be heard all over the house. These controllers are awesome.
I just got half a dozen 306A to try What’s the difference between them and the model you are selling? Your one is cheaper 😂😂 I usually use a different controller on 600w titaniums
Mine just won't connect to the WiFi and won't find the product in the app. driving me crazy. It's a great gadget to have and if I can get it to work I'll buy two more. 🙄😑
Know this is a bit late but - i have mine connected to my snake heat mat, can I use both plug ins to heat two mats at different temps? Like for two different enclosures? Or would it go on a timer sort of thing and switch between mats? Hope you understood and any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks
How is it going for you? I just ordered the 308 one for my snakes heat mat since the one it’s on now is a really annoying one. I’ve heard lots of good things about these thermostats from many different reptile keepers, and seems to be quite positive.
@@BugTheSandWorm using it on one mat seems fine but it isn’t consistent (drops 1 degree every now and then). I tried hooking up to two different ones but I found the lower mat seemed to be lower in temp like the first one was consuming most of the heat. So I’ve stuck to just one mat per temp reader. I like this particular brand and temperature controller however! It’s always my go-to when I get a new snake :) hope this helped!
@@MotherOfBalls So having my heat mat set to 34 degrees, it’s definitely gonna be fine? Doesn’t really matter if it drops down by a degree, still within the range, and it’s an on off thermostat so it’s supposed to drop down by about 1 degree then turn back on. I’m only using it for 1 meat mat anyways, so that’s not a problem. Out of 5 what would you rate it?
Would have helped in the past. XD I love my tanks, but am very close to getting out of the hobby... Every time one of my fish dies, it takes a piece of my heart...
