Starting to have the same issue on my car it’s been 8 months since you posted this video so I was wondering how it’s holding up if it has lasted this long I think it’s worth it gives me time to save for ko4 or has the tick come back?
My GTI started showing signs of turbo failure around 100k I had poor boost and the po299 code. I replaced it with the ihi ko3 because the ko4 is just too much for me to invest in a fwd daily. But I’m tuned with apr stage 1 plus and my boost falls off when I’m full throttle and am not past 3500 I think it’s low speed pre ignition but I’m not sure. Any thoughts ?
@@alexleon9704 I had bought a new turbo and it my cel came on about 5 months later saying it was related to the maf but I replaced that before I replaced the turbo it’s just a bunch of mess
@@boywhohadatiger same I had also changed my maf sensor and now the car just only had p0299 so ima see if I can clean the waste gate and hopefully it can shut and open until I’m able to replace it These cars be needing hella maintenance 😭
@@alexleon9704 I’m honestly gonna say fuck it and just get a Camaro or c7 vette. These cars have too many petty issues the shops can’t even be genuinely figure it out
It was pretty simple but it’s kind of tight in there. N no unfortunately I don’t have a video. I heard a little rattle and my friend had a lift and conveniently had a extra part he wanted to try if it fixed. It was a random thing I figured I was share after it was done.

it got rid of the rattle for a while. it lasted almost a year then I started to hear it again but a little

So for me I have po299 as well I took it to a mechanic and they said that the waste gate stays open
