those posting the dumb comments don't understand that this was a live radio broadcast in a studio with an audience, and a minimal sound check beforehand. of course the beginning was a bit rough because the performers and the radio engineers had to figure it out as they went. the set should have probably began with a different track, not their most popular song.
Fuck the haters. I was at this taping at it definitely sounded different there. It sounds like the mix was done poorly. CCFX is great, I strongly recommend checking out their actual recordings on bandcamp. If you like creative and new music check it out. If you think they're bad then you seriously have bad taste.

I love this song and oh sure there are some stylistic similarities but point me to the cure song that sounds like this. People are so lazy with musical comparisons it's annoying.

To my ears and eyes it appears that the control of her vocal dynamics as a function of her use of the microphone is not so good. cupping around the mic, getting too close to it so it’s overmodulating... I get that these are stylistic elements and choices, but it also represents pretty poor technique and it’s just grating on my ears.
