This game was quintessential for me as a teenager. I loved it so much, it was just on the heels of SOTN and made me fall in love with vampires even more. Some 20 years later, Vorador is still one of my all time fave vampires, with Kain a close place after. Thanks for making this, enjoyed it so much!
The origin of the catchphrase of Kain "vae victis" has equally badass origins. Army of Gauls led by Brennus conquered the lands of the Roman empire, with the city Capitoline Hill being besieged. The city of Capitoline requested to be ransomed instead of sacked, and the Gaul army and the Roman city agreed to the price of 1000 pounds (329 kilograms) of gold. For the weighing the Gauls provided the steelyard balance weights(uneven arm utilizing a counterbalance) and the Romans brought their gold. Romans accused the Gauls of rigging the weights to get more gold during weighing, to which the Gaul leader Brennus responded by taking his sword, exclaiming "Vae Victis" and placing his sword on the side of the weights on the scale, leaving the Romans needing to bring more gold than was originally agreed upon.
