sounds good thanks. Although I found that most of the "trout" fly patterns work just as well for panfish caught a ton of various panfish on a hare's ear too :)
Chimo! Pretty fly. First thing I said was steelhead. I'd imagine crappie would like it, all the colors of the rainbow available for them (in plastics). White with a silver or black rib winged wets work for me on crappie. Small yellow wooly bugger type, same color feather slip tail, with just a hackle collar work for me on other pan fish, especially rock bass. Any thing with pearl silver/white legs too. But this is a k.i.s.s pattern so I'll have to give it a go, maybe as a balanced jig. I don't really fish a lot of flashy patterns, the simplest is those peacock black crystal chenille or Estaz body jigs with four short strands of Krystal Flash for a tail I told you I tied. Murderous on smallies bounced off the rocks at night (especially with an on shore wind) on Onieda. I'm going to try tying some tandem or single hook bucktail or feather wing streamers for trolling on Skaneatlas Lake. Rainbow, Lakers, smallies, perch, June hex hatches 😋 Been on my bucket list for years. Got invited to show a family friend the ropes, he has a boat on the lake and hasn't fished for years since leaving Cali, salt fishing. He likes my "stories" and I have a few. I just have to research the "ropes"! 😉 Cheers 👍 😎. On to the link, thanks.
Chimo Joe - tons of choice for color, Estaz alone comes in 40+ colors right now. Their Black opal is perfect for a dark variation of this fly. As the teacher, you just need to stay one lesson ahead of the student. lol I'm sure your stories will be worth the tuition paid. Cheers
Thanks Pwrcritter. I tend to use it quite a bit. If you use it a lot, you might be able to find guides packs, they have 15yrds in a pack vs 3 in the retail packs.
Bob Myers I believe that was a 4.0mm brass bead. Not super heavy but helps the get wet and down. If you need more weight, you can add a few wraps of weighted wire on the shank or swap the brass for tungsten. Cheers
Very nice looking fly
Thank you Jerry Cordell, much appreciated, Cheers, see you in the next video.
I'm going to have to try some fly fishing for panfish this year. Thanks for the upload.
You're welcome! Thanks for the comment Tim.
looks like a great panfish fly to try out that's mainly what we fish here no trout waters in the area.
Hey Mike, glad to hear that, I'll keep the panfish and bass in mind and try to post patterns for them more often. Cheers

What weight of bead for the size 10 hook? Thanks for this vid.

nice a Quick tie
Thank you Mark. Cheers
Nice tie! These can also be tied on a jig hook.
Thanks for dropping by Al. Yes, a jig hook would be great for this pattern.
It really looks like fish candy tightlines
Candy indeed!
