  • Jonny King inspired head to prevent the materials fouling the hook. A very simple and robust baitfish pattern, which can be tied in any size/colour to target various species. Similar to the popular EP Minnow but using less prone to tangles 'Strung Fuzzy Fibre'.

    Ahrex NS172 size 4

    Nice streamer, light and no clutering. Congrats.

    Very nice! I’ve tied almost exactly the similar, and they’ve given me some trouts. Short shank works very well in upstream fishing.

    Nice one Paul! Like the translucence you get with the illusion of bulk using fuzzy fiber - will give these a go! Cheers! Hank

      Thanks...I used to speed it up, but like them now to be real-time if it's only a few seconds longer. What I should have done was cut perhaps. All comments welcome atb

    Nice Paul! Have you tried the Congo hair for this fly. I've used it alot for this style of fly, but not the fuzzy fibre. I too gone off the E.P fibre. This fly looks very Trouty. Cheers.

      Never used it bud. EP I found too soft and prone to tangles so haven't used it in a while

    That very last part where you talk about the glue and straightening the fibers out in the coffee mug?? Did I miss something or was the coffee mug and water just to wet the fly down to see how she’ll look?
    Again.. just wondering if I missed something?

    • @paul_monaghan
      @paul_monaghan  3 роки тому

      Mug of boiling water to straighten the tail fibres. Optional of course. I just use straighter nayat in these now, with fuzzy head.

      No point for a global audience. The point of the videos are to show how and why, rather than for folks to copy exactly.

    Does "strung fuzzy fibre" is the same thing as FLASH’N SLINKY FIBRE made by H2O?

    • @paul_monaghan
      @paul_monaghan  3 роки тому

      I don't know as haven't used the H2O product. I'm sure it will be just fine
