    I am slightly worried about over tightening the rail and was reading that you can use a device (small tourque wrench) set to 10lb pressure which this is supposedly rated to be for installation. I am conflicted on it though too because it’s a small piece to just put on and seems odd to buy a somewhat expensive tool for this one tiny little piece. Especially since it’s not really designed to have to go on with a torque.

    • @navyman8903
      @navyman8903  2 роки тому

      I understand the reservations but it does evenly distribute the pressure and most of the torque is on the actual unit itself. I haven't had any issues personally.

      @@navyman8903 so you installed the rail with a torque wrench with 10’inch pounds or did you just use a basic Allen key - hex key and screw it on by feels with your hand?

      @@navyman8903 is it a pricey one, know of any cheap ones, I always come across ones that look great but are like 100 bucks. Worth it if I had lots of sights to put on guns but I’m literally just wanting it for the GG&G rail haha.

    • @forgivemylaughter
      @forgivemylaughter 2 роки тому +1

      Also, I combed the internet for awhile and there’s nothing official anywhere from GG&G indicating there is a inch pound torque rating. I seen some guy in a video say 10-inch pounds but I looked up the website, manuals, brochures, nothing from GG&G ever states there is a torque rating. It’s meant to just be put on by feel apparently.

    that usp9 is the shit. i love you added the jet funnel. i love you are actively purchasing mags. the light adapter is something i want to help my cousin order for his uspc .357. luckily k rounds is local to us so they can make holsters custom to your gear. i personally also over tighten but my cousin is a mechanic so i think he should know when to tighten up, or use loctite.
    would love the can. would love a usp9c threaded of my own but i could live with a threaded vp9. i really like da/sa so i dont want to venture into the lem trigger world.
    really feel like youre on the right track man. and i feel like you have a very nice collection. my cousin has a 20in ar colt sporter with fixed a2 carry handle and front sight we call bertha lol. i think im gonna name my glock 19 whitney houston cuz she rides with my most of the times and we have our ups and downs...but she sings when i need her to, and does it very well.
    ive got a sig 226 ive had for many years. maybe ill be ike and she'll be tina LOL. i added an srt, have .357, 40, and 9mm conversion barrels. have mags for all that. have a 9mm recoil spring. want to do an e2 grip now. owb holster for streamlight tlr-2 from so long ago that it was only 135 lumens. also have an iwb holster which i prefer to carry it with nowadays without that damn tlr-2. i wish she was marked frame made in germany, and was strictly 9mm but back then when i bought it i wasnt thinking about that. ive had damn near the whole sig p series lineup in 1 variant or another and the 226 is my favorite.
    i wholeheartedly think the 9mm non rail with short external extractor, german markings is among the best guns ever created. if you have the stainless version then its ever more grail. mec gar flush fit 18rd mags. other than that it would be a 220r with german markings and short external extractor. if i want a longer external extractor than give me an hk. im not old school enough for the internal extractors unless its a 245 or 228 and those models i like but i dont love.
    your hk collection though really makes me wish i could do it over again. ive got 1 sig, 2 1911's in .45, 2 cz's in 9mm, 1 1911 in 9mm and a glock 19 in the collection/rotation these days. i really do wish i just had a 9mm uspc in the mix and they are scarce around here

      Dude you had me rolling with the Name for your Glock 19. That's perfect, I'd stick with it. As for starting all over with your collection, I feel you there, and honestly there are some things even today with all that I have, I wish I had done differently. Either way though, if you've got solid guns that run, don't fight it. There's always something else, and I've recently took the axe to my long gun list.....well, even the short one. I need to focus on getting the things I need, not everything I possibly wanted. I do have a huge boner for the P226, and you'll be seeing a MK25 and P226 DA/SA 9mm Legion here soon. I appreciate the detailed response, it was a good read. Thanks for taking the time and watching.

    My "beater" USP9 has the match/LEM hybrid. Flawless! I put the same setup in a USP45 and had light strikes almost every other round... switched it back to SA/DA never figured out what the cause was. you'll love running that gun suppressed.

      I can't wait, and your Match/LEM hybrid is what's making me want to do it. I also picked up the SD because of your videos. The beater USP9 is a definite, and I'm thinking I need an Expert 9mm in my life before it's complete.

      +DevilDolphin the expert is nice but I want much different than the SD, although I could get it cycle lighter loads due to the polished barrel hood and different recoil spring. they are fun guns. That SD with 147 grain ammo is QUIET.

      Very nice brother. I hope what I put out will be helpful. I picked up another USP9 in extremely used condition from a buddy who works Nuclear security. They sold their sidearms, why I have no idea. But I was able to get it, with 3 mags and a holster for $350. I'm going to work it over from start to finish once I get it here. Same as the USP9 SD, but I might have to do more internal work to it. I'll try to make a video series on it. Your videos always helped me out with setups and such, so I'm going to be looking forward to trying to pay it forward to you. Oh wait.....speaking of which, can you send me an Email with your address to navyman8903@yahoo.com???

    Are those mags actually all steel? Normal ones are polymer so are the clear jet funnel ones.

      Yes. They essentially polymer over molded elongated P30 mags.

      Thanks for sticking around and the support I appreciate it. The mags are expensive as hell, but once you see the changes they've made, it makes sense. I'm still not happy about it, but the quality is definitely there. I recently did a tally of how much I spent on guns, but I refuse to do it for magazines, it will make me sick.

    I don't think I could tell you why, but the way you transitioned from the last statement to the normal closing killed me. I feel like I've had that "this makes sense to me, judge me, I don't give a shit... k, moving on" moment so many times and it was great to recognize that when it hits someone else.

    I just bought one of these USP SD's a few weeks ago. Managed to pick it up with 5 factory magazines and no rounds through it for $800 flat. I definitely want to get new sights because I'm not a fan of the all black sights but do like that they're completely adjustable. I've been thinking about getting the match trigger kit and a compensator for it, as well. This is my first H&K and I've had people tell me that these SD's are a limited production gun and that they're more sought after than the Tactical. Is this true? Also, what years were these made? I believe the guy I got it from told me it was a 2013. Sound about right?

    Not everything is panic bought where I am, my local arms dealer still has a POF P416 War Hog and a USP .40 Tactical. He's the reason why I'm bad at saving money

    • @navyman8903
      @navyman8903  8 років тому

      There's some things still out there, I've noticed a few POF's too, the cabela's is very, and I mean very well stocked here. I think it's because of the size. If I needed to, I could spend some serious money and make a small dent in mags/ammo.

    and are they STILL not putting actual 1913 rails on the new production runs of USP's? and im so glad to finally hear someone else say that they hate adjustable sights on pistols. i so couldnt agree more.

  • @Tox927

    One thing about buying so many mags... If you train yourself to keep your emtpy mags while doing mag changes then there is no need for a shit ton of mags. In a shtf scenario you are imho just as likely to lose a gunas u are a mag imo. So what are all the extra mags going to be worth if that happens? I know a lot of HK guns have interchangeable mags yada yada, but when is it overkill? Why not invest more in springs, followers and ammo?

    • @navyman8903
      @navyman8903  8 років тому

      I get what you're saying, and don't necessarily disagree with you. I'm focused around meeting up with a predesignated team hopefully in advance of a situation unfolding, but if it happens and we're reactionary, I'm the gun guy. There's more than one gun guy in the group, but others cover other bases in depth. We all cover the same stuff, but some dudes just have more in depth jobs/specialties. We all can run guns well, and get by, but the wealth is spread out. So it's not just for me, but the likely hood of it ever happening is very low. We've also started working on a central location to fortify and fight from if necessary, which will require supplies. I also keep about half of my mags loaded at any given time for quick response, but not all of them. If it's a serious situation there will not be a single empty mag in the place. Which I always keep ammo on hand to facilitate. Not to get too deep into my planning here. Right now though, planning aside, this is one of my main hobbies, and having all of these mags helps me practice skills, shooting/tactics more than my reloading rounds into mags at the bench. Which I hate doing.

      About Half of them at any given time for my primary fighting long guns/handguns to deal with a potential threat/serious event. But on average no. I don't consider the USP9 SD ready for that role just yet, so all of the mags are downloaded for that particular platform, but once she's setup, she'll be a fighting gun.
