good video man, you think the jet funnel is worth it. Also very informative had no idea that they were the first to do that progressive recoil system that DPM seems to be doing now.
I don't care about the hefty price tag. I'd still get one on the rep of the HK name alone. On top of that it is tried and tested, reputable found in video games, and as an added bonus, HK is really hard to find in South Africa making it more unique as opposed to the Glock or CZ guys. Which pistols would you consider superior to the USP? Just curious, as I’m not a fan of 9mm or striker fired pistols. I can’t think of a better hammer fired pistol chambered in 40 or 45.

I think the usp Expert is a very good compromise between military grade durability / reliability on the one side and very high precision on the other side.
The Expert and the Elite are Slow with the Expert being a compromise between speed and precision and both are more focused on paper target longer range competition. For everyone else the tactical is always the way to go. Great precision with the extended barrel but full speed shooting with the lighter slide. And all of them run the same match trigger. But if you want the best of all worlds you have to pony up for the Match if you can find it. Its only problem is that the sight radius is beaten out by the expert and elite for long range precision like NRA bullseye. But it's got all the speed and the match weight.
Nice review! I’m not a RMR guy but I do know that you can purchase an RMR adapter for the USP at HK Parts. You lose your rear sight but if you have an RMR why would you need it? I have the OG USP40. Damn fine pistol!

Great video. Was really jonesing for an USP Expert. After your video, I think I’m going to “settle” for the regular USP for now. After dropping 1300 bucks for a hand gun, paying 100 per spare mag doesn’t sound very enticing.
I have an expert 45 and love it. I also have the extended magazine release and have never had a problem, it will run both my 10 and 12 round magazine just fine. Worth the money!!!!
@@ProudFudd Well I ended up going with the regular USP anyway and TBH, its a little underwhelming. Not bad, just doesn't do anything for me after coming from more modern Sigs and Berettas. @@Dogsport1 I have my chambered I'm 45 and the mags are made of steel. My expert has a gray guns trigger and sights on it as well. Thanks for the video on choosing an HK USP. @12:56 you say that the HK Expert was not made as a competition pistol and therefore lacks some features needed by competition shooters. Does the 45acp HK USP Elite offer the features needed by competition shooters?
The .45 allows you to use extended mag releases that don't chew up mags (both dimensionally compatible and metal on metal contact), and you get a cheaper mag cost. Downsides are still the untextured frame, high bore axis, DA/SA trigger (for some that's a downside), lack of optics compatibility, and proprietary rail.
As of July 2022, I highly recommend USP 45 Compact over all others (I live in CA so its now off roster). Reason: You can do virtually all that Full size USP can do, plus you can carry as CCW (you will have far easier time EDC'ing the compact model than full size). And no, you cannot simply change the barrel of USP / USP 45 Compact with threads to turn it into Tactical model.

Love my USP45 compact
all of them!
fantastic pistols I hope HK continue to make those and more particularly hammer fired
Nice review! I’m not a RMR guy but I do know that you can purchase an RMR adapter for the USP at HK Parts. You lose your rear sight but if you have an RMR why would you need it? I have the OG USP40. Damn fine pistol!
Uhhh to co-witness ding bat. What happens when your RMR goes tits up?
You never give up your irons for an optic on a handgun.
I picked up a USP .45 LEM yesterday. There was a USP 9 at The Gun Store in Waterbury CT if anyone is looking for one. $899.00
My previous USP.45 was DA/SA. I am excited to try the LEM trigger.
Very good video, thorough and informative. Thanks for sharing.
I think that you'll love it. All of my HKs are LEM. I leave DA/SA to Sig and Beretta.
Man those guns are beauties! At least I own the co2 replica, can’t own a real one where I’m from.
One of my favorits!!! USP only problem was the HK only rail....
Great video. Was really jonesing for an USP Expert. After your video, I think I’m going to “settle” for the regular USP for now. After dropping 1300 bucks for a hand gun, paying 100 per spare mag doesn’t sound very enticing.
I just got one, you'll know where the $ went. Finest mag ever made imo.
As for the Expert mags, are they polymer only (like the regular USP), all metal, or a hybrid design like factory Glock magazines?
@@Dogsport1 I have my chambered I'm 45 and the mags are made of steel. My expert has a gray guns trigger and sights on it as well. It shoots like butter with a ridiculously short reset and is by far more accurate then I will ever be. I believe the platform excel in 40 cal and is even better in 45. It'll eat any +p and even 45 supper you can throw at it.
You don't have to buy the steel mags I have a expert and you can get the white plastic factory mags for 50.00 the expert is a sweet shooter. You can upgrade to the 18 round mags with a jet funnel kit for your standard usp also. Either way ya can't go wrong
Great video 📹 👍
Would you be able to do another video on the USP 40 S&W in which this firearms was built around.
I snagged a USP45 Tactical used by the SWAT team. It looks like it fell out of a building. It still runs perfectly.
You should compare the 9mm vs the .45 the dimensions are completely different not many people know that. Love the usp!
Completely different? My USP9 Expert, USP40-and USP45 Tactical all fit in the same holster......so there's that.
@@_JimS the frame and slide length are bigger on .45
@@apizzaparty The slide is a mere 7mm longer( 7.09 inches vs 6.81 inches), and the width, and the height of the gun are the same at 1.38 inches.
You have failed. Return whence you came.
I have a HK MK23, USP 45, and a USP 40cal police trade in I got lucky and found for $350.00, Great go to war pistols.
Nice job man.
Thanks for swinging by homie 😎
@@LeadSteel absolutely. You've got a good format, you should put put more content if you get the chance.
@@navyman8903 For sure, much appreciated. Been slammed with my last semester of law school, so I've got a backlog to reckon with. LMT R20, Bren 2, AUG, and some .308s. Fingers crossed they all get done before the summer.
@@LeadSteel That would be legit man. I'm SBR'ing my 10.5 LMT and have to get a new light head for the M300 scout and a Comp M4 mounted on there. I would love to see some LMT content to hold me over. Thanks for chatting with me man, I appreciate it.
Any or all of them!
I didn’t see a safety/decocker lever on your USP 9. Which version is that? My main complaint with the USP is the positioning of that lever and I would love to own one without it. Thank you for the video.
That USP has the LEM trigger. I would do some research on it. I'm a firm believer in the LEM and don't use traditional DA/SA anymore.
All of them
The P30 mag release IS the extended mag release, and works fine with the original mags.
All of them.
Excellent review u know ur stuff! Cudoo’s to u
