- In this video I am going to demonstrate the change in speed of induction motor using VFD drive which is being controlled by PLC via ModbusTCP.
Schneider Electric Altivar 320 Drive or simply VFD (Variable Frequency Drive)
A Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) is a type of motor controller that drives an electric motor by varying the frequency and voltage supplied to the electric motor. Frequency (or hertz) is directly related to the motor’s speed (RPMs). In other words, the faster the frequency, the faster the RPMs go.
The benefits of Variable Frequency Drives. VFDs allow you to match the speed of the motor-driven equipment to the load requirement. There is no other method of AC electric motor control that allows you to accomplish this.
VFDs can reduce energy consumption in your facility by as much as 60%.

I'm communicating with an ATV340. It was necessary to enter Address 40001 in the MB_DATA_ADDR and the word size in the MB_DATA_LEN. So it was MB_DATA_ADDR = 40001 [8501] and MB_DATA_LEN = 3. I didn't understand why it didn't work for weeks until I did it this way.
