In relation to getting the best person for the job, sometimes the best person doesn’t get the chance because nobody believes they can. The perception because of lived and inherited experience. So sometimes the door needs opening to allow women to do jobs.
If you are honest and put a man alongside Lizzie, similar backgrounds for a farming job, they don’t know either. How many would choose Lizzie? And how big a mistake would it have been 🤷♂️

We love lizzie. She's one amazing woman.
So far I have found it impossible to get into farming, not because I am a woman. I work as a shepherdess for a local farmer. But I can’t afford to get a farm of my own. We rent land whenever it comes up but the area we live is mostly arable land.

Lizzy just has to get on with it while Cammy is elsewhere.I will say that the Yorkshire shepherdess did over expose their family to the media which, I feel was not in the best interests of the children. In the end they were trying to manufacture situations to get some footage. I follow a channel called ‘This Farm Wife’. Situated in North Carolina. She gets the family exposure just right. I have seen their two children grow from young children to teenagers and I think you tube had been an enormous help with the farm finance.

Meredith is such a lovely person with a very tender soul who at times seemed a little too frightened of Lawrence, but that is probably because of her vulnerability when she doubts her capabilities. She seems to have had some emotional times in her life but it is amazing how as you say they have made a success of their way of life. Their different characters actually compliment each other.
Also, most of my physicians are women. The local medical school is now overwhelmingly women.
A lenpot of the problem with the lack of women in agriculture is prejudice. From the banks not willing to lend to women, to inheritance laws, to women are the only people who can bear children and yet they are penalized for it in the work place. But all you have to look is to someone like Sandi Brock who has with her husband divided the duties of the farm so that she raises the sheep and he raises the grain.
Chemistry is a department that doesn't have many women in it and it's truly because it's a "Good Ol'Boys" club.

I chose to be a career woman.. Having said that.. Due to health issues, I had to have a full hysterectomy age 32.. but l could have adopted or fostered but chose to concentrate on my career. I was a nurse, so there were men and women doing the same job.. I am a believer in fate, and if l had decided to have a family, l wouldn't have been able to look after my mom when she developed Alzheimers.. l was able to take a part-time position, then l gave up work to look after her full time.. both my sisters had children..mortgages, etc, and not in a position to do it..

Iona needs to ask the questions to the person by their name and not allow interuptions or talking over by the other panelists. Cammy might be doing some of it in fun BUT -- give the quiet gals a chance to speak. We the quiet ones know she has the knowledge and would like to hear from her. There is a skill in learning how to listen to others and not assume what they are going to say or that you need to say it before them. Some of that action might be the reason the women don't want to fight for a managerial position on the farm. Dad and brother aren't listening an might never do. Cammy I believe your position with Lizzy could be an exemplary opportunity to show case the role of women on the farm. I work as an interpreter of history, with out the women doing their part the farms would not have and will not survive. Please becareful to include everyone. Sometimes you like showing off to much. Summing up what another has said goes a lonh way in keeping us listening and coming back. Love from a great grandmother.

I'm sorry but what's occurring with the lighting in that studio? When the camera's at the Cammy end, Iona looks really jaundiced? Teaching kids to lose: a good friend teaches colts rugby and is 100% clear that his role is doing just that.
