Watching Sandi is what really got me hooked on watching farming channels and especially sheep farming on UA-cam. So many people felt they were being smothered during the pandemic. But farmers sharing their lives threw a very needed lifeline. Right now I follow a half dozen on a religious basis, without picking favourites because they are very different: Sheepishly Me, Sheep Game and Ewetopia for my ovine "fix". Tom Pemberton, Farmer Tyler Ranch and Hoof GP; satisfy my bovine itch. All are very unique, educational and fun.

Loved this and you are right about shorts, generally. However I'm 70 yrs old, mainly on youtube to watch BTS videos, but I do click on shorts and that's how I found Sandy Brock and her sweet sheep. I can't believe I look forward to each new video about sheep. BUT, I love Sandi, her family and reading all the comments from her followers. such nice people. Like BTS ARMY, LOL. In this scary world it's such a hopeful thing to see a bunch of lovely, good humans.

Just FYI it’s me the 61 year-old Mama/Nana and I rarely ever watch a short on UA-cam. I live for the long format. I want a story. I am not after instant gratification, I want to work for it. I want to invest myself into the story. I love the length of this video I know it looks long, but I knew that at the end of the video I was going to wish it wasn’t over yet and I wasn’t wrong😁. This is my connection to the outside world and the parts of the world. I never got to be a part of or even explore. But thanks to you and others like you. It’s not too late I can explore and I can get to know people and experience the holidays with them And learn things that’s the best part is the world is an open book now and I can learn about so many things and I do. Thanks to UA-cam. I’ve taught myself to refinish furniture cook things I never thought I’d ever get to explore and so much more so much more😍🤸🏽‍♀️🤸🏽‍♀️

I’m on the same ride with you Mikki, @ nearly 64 years old!!! Broken body way too young, & life just didn’t have time or a way to explore like I wanted to, but I’ve had me some Great Adventures, & left the long travel to other family, & my grown daughter, who saw more of the world before she was 18, than I have in my entire life!!! I while back, she asked me why I “allowed” her to go to so many different places, with other people, & just said,”Because you were interested in going those places, & it was with people I trusted to keep you safe!” Just Feeding that curiosity, knowing No one could get to every inch of this world or sea, if they had 100 years to do it in, & I’m so thankful for FaceTime & Zoom, bc I get to go along on her many adventures, bc she’s still exploring the world every chance she Makes!!!🥰🙏

So great to see this episode.
Many Canadians love Scotland for it's people and landscape while others came from Scotland able to return each year.
Sandi may not realize but some live vicariously through her content wishing they could do the same.
Others like me, both Sandi, Mark and Cammy have provided the confirmation we need to return to the farm. Each are a wealth of knowledge and reminder of skillsets we let get rusty.
Now if we could visit Scotland, that would just be priceless.
    Thanks for sharing

Yes Sandi you nailed it lol. I am a 61-year-old Mama/Nana lol 😝. I am a huge fan of you, Sandi &, your family and friends😁. I watch your videos as soon as you post them. Why??? So very many reasons. One my whole life I dreamed of being a homesteader, and it will forever only be a dream. So watching your family Farm feed my fantasy. But I come back again and again just because you are such an amazing beautiful person. You’ve raised a fine family. You have an equal match in your amazing husband and I’m stuck in bed unwell. That’s OK I accept it but for a little bit, I get to do all kinds of things via you and you’re amazing family. while feeling love, joy and unpredictability, Thank you🙏🏼.

Sandi, we need to be cautious about stereotyping. Yes, I'm a woman & find you VERY relatable! but when I was watching Sonne Farms, they (dad & son) gave you a shout out & asked their viewers to add their prayers for Jess's healing. Thank goodness, men are learning to be more comfortable expressing their emotions. Am loving watching the 4 of you! 💕💕 And also I love how your loyal viewers are courteous, respectful & supportive toward each other. So vital when there's so much divisiveness, feeling like it's all-pervasive sometimes. Definitely a therapeutic tonic! 💕💕

What Mark & Sandi are talking about having a Farm Manager is basically how my siblings and I are still owning 3rd generation farms. We have a coop situation with a farmer. We split the costs with them as well as the profits. Our parents put the whole thing in an LLC and when they passed we even put their house into the LLC. It works.

I just finished watching Sandi's new video for "Sheepishly Me" when I found this video and was so excited to see Mark and Sandi together being interviewed. I wish Mark would make more farming videos. Not that I'm a farmer of any kind. I just love to watch a variety of things. Plus, I loved listening to the Scottish accent. What can I say. I'm a McDougall and have Scottish ancestry. Cammy blushed a nice shade of red when he was complimented. So cute. LOVED IT. 😊❤️🙏🇦🇺

Absolutely agree I fall in love with watching the person and their life on youtube. If a youtuber can stay natural and humble while showing the good and bad of their life they have a charmed mix that we all love to watch. Anyone that lets their head inflate gets less interesting. So please stay humble, show all the bad along with the good and I'll be watching forever. On the subject of shorts, I rarely watch them but that's probably more my age. I do not use my phone to watch, I use my laptop and sit comfortably to relax and enjoy longer content. Kami and Sandi both have the right mix to keep my interest and I am always excited to see a new vlog from either of you. Long may it continue. :D (for context: I'm English, age 65 and female with no farming connection in my life)

I looked into sheep after my grandpa's 9y/o sheep died 2 weeks after a difficult lambing, 2 pretty twins with the first one backwards that got stuck. Luckily for them both lambs didn't make it, and mom died 2 weeks after what I believe was affects from retained placenta.
A few weeks later I found myself watching Tom scott trying to say "away, come by and lie down" in a Scottish accent, and so I started binging a years amount of Cammie, after that I found Sandi and decided to go from Vlog 550 and ended up watching pretty much every vlog of hers in about a 4 months span. You both have teached me so much about sheep, life, just how to puch through and being an amazing person.

This was great to see Sandi & Mark who I've been following, from our beautiful Yorkshire Dales, since before Sandi got her 100k subscribers. I've just had a shiny new hip so been watching this between surgery and recovery. How utterly bonkers to put a carbon tax on farmers. They are essential to feed the people. It's already a tough financial job. Yes of course we all want to do our bit for the planet but to tax farmers is a huge step in the wrong direction. It would never and should never work here.

Thank you so much for doing this podcast and having the Brocks on it it was really nice to get to, sit back and listen to you guys and watch you talk while you’re not trying to save the life of sheep or crop or something. Thank you.

When I got bored watching ghost stuff I came across the HGP. I love his accent, that is what got me into cows. From there I came across the game then Pennington. Then Sandy popped up and this city girl finds all this interesting. My husband says I just like watching people work but what I learned from all you I would tell everyone. I am sure they think I am crazy but at my age, this is the best counting sheep before bed. Sheep and accents…LOVE IT! Thank you all🌹

I have been a huge fan of shapelessly me and the entire Brock Clan since I came across them on UA-cam about a year and a half ago, but I have watched like episodes passionately from years ago. I am in Oregon, Willamette Valley, USA if I could go anywhere in the world it would be Scotland, but on the way, I want to stop on the Brock Farm♥️. This is my first time coming across this podcast. Though I have seen a few episodes of you farming in Scotland. I am a devoted fan to shapelessly me❣️❣️❣️❣️ So yes, I jumped clicked liked and subscribed fed by farmers podcast👍🏼😁. Thank you so much for sharing this with us. This is like a happy place. Perfect combo😃.

I actually love watching the grain farming vlogs Sandy does as well as her sheep farming. It’s much more complicated than I realized.
It was Sandy’s shout out that brought me to The Sheep Game although I suspect the sheep rescue with The Hoof GP would have brought me to him as well.
Now I’m going to need to watch all the Fed By Farmers Pod episodes.

For the last ten years of our retirement, we have as our ‘Pets’ two rescue donkeys, two sheep and two barn cats as well as 11 chickens. The sheep are my Divas, they remind me of your golden girls Sandi. One ewe decided she likes me and follows me around like a puppy dog which is terribly sweet, she also knows I always have carrots or equine cookies in my pocket. I love watching you Sandi, the inner strength you showed last year supporting Jes through her nightmare still astonishes me. You probably think “Well, that’s what moms do”. Not in all cases. Your family held together and got through an emotional hurricane because of the love and the strong building blocks you and Mark have built your family on. Listening to the Scottish podcast was fantastic, it just reminded me of everything you have been through. It serves to admire you all the more xxxx💕👏💕👏💕👏💕

I find the Shorts disatisfying as want to watch more. Bless you both. Jan

I am a US citizen, daughter of farmers, my husband too. Retired. I am so appreciative of how verbally clean you keep your content..if you or Sandy mention another channel, I will give them a try but when the “F” bomb starts dropping I’m off. I occasionally let a curse word slip, but not that word. It is a demoralizing word and I am appalled how it is used constantly. I digress, again, thank you for bringing good, clean content we can enjoy.

I just noticed this interview with Sandy and Mark from Sheepishly me. i've followed her most likely since February of 2020 when I was in hospital for 2 weeks and spent a lot of that time watching UA-cam if I wasn't reading. I had somehow caught a video of hers of her lambing on Christmas vlogging. Just watching all the little lambs being born and cheerful and emotional she was about these little lives and her ewes made me empathize with her. She managed to put a smile on my face during a time when I felt so alone. It had snowed and the temperatures dropped into the -30's and I was not feeling up to much company I had encouraged my husband and my mom to just stay home. Of course they did a couple of obligatory visits that were more exhausting than anything. My son was working out of town but was home the day after I was admitted. He brought his old laptop loaded with Prime which was my contant companion. He kicked off his boots and crawled into bed beside me under the tubes and things and snuggled like he did when he was 15 or 20 years younger and he watched a movie with me. I rarely got to see him so it was the highlight of the decade. Watch Sandy's videos gave me a very facinating peek at farming that caught the heart of a city dweller a peek of farm in my country, Canada.I live in Central Alberta, Canada in a suburb town of the city of Edmonton. My husband and his friend hunt every fall so we setup our trailer on the farm of a family friend, his wife and 3 boys who are now in their late teens and early 20's. Farming in Alberta is a lot different than the type of farm that Sanyo and mark do. They concentrate on beef cattle and miles and miles, or kilometers and kilometers of fields of various grains. They have 37 silos for storing all the grain yet they still lave to fill bags and bags of the white feed bags that string trough his fields close to home. I believe he still leases storage bins/silos on several other farms. We watched him graduate from school and then get married and have 3 children's and every year he invested in more land buying up what he could of neighbors retiring and their kids not interested in farming. In addition he bought a small herd of beef cows expanding unti he kept them at about a thousand before calving. In recent years he expanded a side operation expecting one of his sons to take it over and now has approximately 1000 special "Wagu" beef cows which he sells only to exclusive restaurants and whatever... My husband and a couple of friends go hunting everyou fall so we pull our trailer out there where they stay until hunting season is over. The area is fairly flat Prairie land that goes on and on for hundreds of miles/kilometers. The season for growing is short starting in mid or late May and runs to about midway thru September of maybe a bit shorter. The days in summer are very long with daylight starting just after 4:00 am and going until around 11:00 in the evening of corose varying thru out. In "winter" which starts in late October but usually the beginning of November we can get temperatures around -40C in but usually it's stay in the -teens to somewhere in the -20's with some instances of global warming and temperatures climbing above 0C a few days. He has at least 2 of each extra large piece of equipment with tires over 6 feet tall including 2 what we call semi-truck with grain trailers. He also uses them to haul cattle to or from pastures. In the winter the animals have to be fed hay along jj a mixture of grain. All a lot different than Mark and Sandy. The area around the town we moved to just east of the citype of Edmonton used to surround us with beautiful canola fields all around us but gradually it got bought up be developers and gone are the beautiful fields. One family of potato farmers managed to hold onto their large farm and produced a large percentage of potatoes sold in Canada until ever surrounded by development and forcing the town to put a green space park to the north of them and they gave up some land to the south be developed into a main road lined with stores and restaurants a school and a public swimming pool. Don't know if you find this interesting.

I’ve found their story so amazing, and after all they have been through over the past decade they have realised that life is short and that they can’t just assume that their lovely kids will just take over, even though they both have shown an interest in farming. Jack has another career that can still be used in farming and Jess has gone to university to learn about agriculture etc. They really are a credit to Sandi and mark. They are fantastic parents who have put them kids first. I have seen so many farmers on line who force their children to take over from them and the kids end up resentful of that fact. All farmers have it so hard these days, I really feel for all of you, you all work so very hard for not a lot of money. Thank you to you all for sharing your lives and knowledge on UA-cam. If s amazing how hard you actually work. 365 days a year and you all miss out on so much family time. I can’t wait to see you all again together, maybe one day you could go and visit Sandi and Mark, that’s if you could ever get someone to look after your farm Camp x
