Best ROTATION DRILL for your Backswing and Downswing | It's super SIMPLE! - Спорт
Great video, glad you didn’t melt away when it started raining. 🌧
Very good video Clay! Thank you! Timely for me.
You’re videos are always awesome! Thx for correcting my turn👍
Awesome drill, Showed me I can rotate way more than I thought I could!
Glad I could help!
I like this drill because sometimes I don't do the full swing, thanks Clay

Another great video Clay, thanks! 🤙
Glad you enjoyed it!
Love this drill
Thanks!
How come I've missed out on such a great drill? Thank you, thank you, thank you Clay. Yes it is so simple AND so efficient. You're making me hope again 😉👏.
You are so welcome!
Great work Clay. I'll buy you a beer if you someday come to Sweden. You provided me with a piece I have been missing. Thank you!
Sounds like a plan 🍻
This video completely changed my swing after one range session. Truly awesome
Great to hear!
Magic 😱
I honestly wouldn’t say id rather another pros golf swing compared to Clay’s, its such an effortless and technically sound swing, beautiful!
Thanks!
You are the best ...nobody is close ..lightyears ahead ...you should be Leadbetter famous ...Jack Grout even !!
Haha...thanks!
This is the best golf tip I have ever stumbled across! I’m brand new to golf and I struggle to generate power because I swing stiff, this has opened me up and I can definitely feel a huge difference. This is by far my favorite golf channel on UA-cam
Fantastic!
The biomechanics demonstrated by Ballard surpass all other online instructors' work.
More to the point, they convey an more receptive recognition in any golfer; that is, they provide the shortest path to understanding, a sense & feel, then implementation into the technique.
I've listened to decades of teachers online and in videos.
Ballard's approach is the best and most crisp - there's no trying to impress with personality, just pressing in efficiency and effectiveness into each golfer's own swing and rhythm.
Thank you for the kind words and support!
Thanks to you my driving has been monstrous!
Glad to hear it!
Wow, doing the split hand and looking at ball with my left eye I can do big big turn. I know I have to be careful and get it right rotating back to square club but we’ll see how I do. I cannot wait to try this tomorrow at the range.
Right on! Let me know how it goes!
First one in the rain. Terrific!
Thanks!
Really good…when I get a good turn I hit the ball well.
Awesome! Keep it up! 👍
I'm hitting drives around 270-290m but with a club almost 40° off horizontal - this will help reduce "muscling" and let rotation produce the results.
Thanks.
My pleasure!
Hey you’re at OCN!!! I live down the road. Would have loved a lesson
Hey Aaron, OCN allows Clay to come out there and shoot videos sometimes. Thanks for the interest but Clay doesn't offer private lessons. He focuses all his time on making videos and running the business. This allows him to help as many people as possible. Robin, our Director of Instruction, does private lessons in the Orlando, FL area. If interested then follow this link: topspeedgolf.com/in-person-lessons-with-robin-rosado/. Play well! Owl like rotation for power.
Thanks! 😂
You know Clay is a real golfer because he doesn't flinch when it starts raining.
haha...the show must go on 😂
With that hat he didn’t even know it was raining!
Hi Clay, another great video, clear my confusion which bothered me for long time. My neck mobility is not flexible as in the video, and my head dropped during the back swing so that I can star the ball. Is there any way to improve neck mobility? Thanks!
Hi Yilin, yes, I would seek out a physical therapist near you. Play well! Quentin | TSG Instructor
Clay. Just love your videos. When I get notifications of a new video it says Top Speed Golf Clay Ballard has uploaded a new video as the header that is immediately visible. It would be much better if it said for instance " TSG Clay Ballard Best Rotation Drill" This makes it visible to be able to see exactly what I want to view when looking under my library of videos.
Clay is simply the best though speak fast. The 3x best teacher is way below Clay
Thanks 👍 I agree, that would be better. Not much we can do about it though.
Hey Clay! I've been trying to flex my knees in the down swing and I end up digging into the ground pretty good. I'm having trouble finding the perfect flex lol. Thanks for the videos! Keep em coming!
Hey Nathan, it sounds like you're hanging back. Make sure to get a good weight shift to your lead side. Play well! Quentin | TSG Instructor
Well said, Sir. Keeping your eyes on the ball doesn't guarantee a doggone thing other than taking a persons mind off of all the other crap they might be trying to do or not do. Its like going for big high-five with somebody and you both just totally just whiff because you were staring at each other's palms. But even if just one of you would stare at the other person's elbow, you cannot possibly miss ; O
😂 Thanks!
the point you were making about it being in your mind’s eye is exactly what blind golfers have to do all the time! it’s so impressive! by the way, i saw this man just smashing these beautiful draws and fades at the range and he recommended me your channel! as someone who is rather new to the sport i appreciate your content
I'm Japanese, but the driver in Cray's video was really stable. The slicing worries are completely gone, but how do you slice ? The more I wanted to hear it, the harder it was to hit the slices. We carry 300 yards in a carry so we look forward to the next round.
Thanks for sharing!
Clay were you watching me earlier this week... I was stiff as a board... thanks that for the lesson I will work on this for sure
You got this!
What's Tiger doing in the background!
Nice drill. Really helps
Haha! 😀
Clay, it's an irrefutable fact that hockey players do not look at the puck when they're shooting (nor when they stickhandle). Absolutely, looking at a stationary ball is overrated. As you suggest, place the ball in your swing path and you can't miss it.
Thanks for sharing!
Appears like a hockey drill. Kind of explains why so many hockey players are long hitters.
👍
Lower back pain is hurting my game making it almost impossible to stay over the ball in the down swing, all ways find my self pulling up/standing up on the ball upon contact. Ive got to fix this !
Sorry to hear that. I'd recommend getting help from a doc.
Top Speed Golf - Clay Ballard going the take squats/rack pulls out of my workout routine. On golf weeks. May help. Thanks bro
On average, the head can rotate 70 degrees without pressuring the discs in the neck. Jack N rotated his head prior to the back swing, which helped facilitate a better shoulder rotation (a long with getting his dominant eye on the ball).
Thanks for sharing!
Is this only for driver? Should I be getting max body turn with my irons?
It applies to all clubs
I am wondering if you can do a real golf course management, maybe 1 hour for the first4-5 holes?
Hi Edward, thanks for the idea
Clay, I am a 67 year old golfer. I still have the flexibility to hit my drives 220-230, and I can hit a 7 iron 140. However, I'm having trouble with pulls with longer clubs. It feels like I'm throwing my right shoulder out instead of dropping it down. So instead of my downswing being "in to out" the clubhead is getting outside and I am pulling it back - thus the pull. (sometimes a pull hook) I suspect something else is causing me to do that so I've been working on my hips. I am able to turn my hips 45 degrees and my shoulders 90 degrees. But I can't figure out the downswing. Could my hip be in the way at the beginning of my downswing so I have nowhere to go except out? I saw one of your lessons today where you talk about delaying the hip and instead turning my knees (lower body) first. The first few times I tried it I hit the club into the dirt, but I will try it again tomorrow. Am I on the right track?
Notice his shoulder tilt at 3:31 in the video. Closer you can get to this the better.
I don’t understand how you can drop down and not lower your head and the length of the club without duffing the ball? How do you keep your head level...
You release the club more out in front. Play well! Quentin | TSG Instructor
Clay is completely correct. It is not hard to hit great shots with your eyes closed.
😂
It is technically impossible to have your chin over your shoulder, since the vertibrae will NOT allow it! The head has to move!!!
Thanks for sharing!
Top Speed Golf - Clay Ballard you’re welcome! 🏌️♂️
I would love to see you hit a ball with your eyes closed. Perhaps re-enact that Chevy Chase "be the ball Danny" move by using a blindfold? C'mon Clay.....be a sport..........lol
Thanks for the latest tip.
Haha...maybe some time.
@@TopSpeedGolf You're not being the ball Danny......lol
