Seeing Don Krieg and Gin actually doing well for themselves was awesome. I like to think that after his defeat against Luffy he saw the error of his ways like Bellamy did and became much more honourable. Seeing Cricket and the monkey brothers was awesome too :D I'm up to Skypiea in my reread so I was wondering when we'd see them. This arc has been fantastic.
Drake is in a private cabin in GS hospital. Smoker literally asked Tashigi where she is to which she responded by saying they were at the Hospital. Smoker is coming from somewhere and is most likely on the way to the hospital towards where Koby, Drake & other SWORD Members are.
To be honest I don't think there is much left to do in the arc. The straw hats almost together, Vegapunk's message is interrupted and the dome is open. The only things I can think of to do is meeting Vivi and deciding what happens to York.

This is why I enjoy the "in-between" arcs more than the "main" arcs. They can be really good, but sometimes too long. Arcs like this and Saboady cram so much into the runtime that give you food for thought in spades!
The strawhats are already escaping, only one of the gorosei is on their back and apparently, Vegapunk's lore dump is over. I think end of July is a pretty reasonable time frame to tie up the last few loose ends, unless we enter flashback mode or something which I doubt. Since this arc was so heavy on world building, I wonder if the post arc chapters will be just as dense as the last few post arcs or if they'll be lighter reads. Kinda hope we get to see the strawhats cool down and hang out one last time before the finale.
When the giant robot first attacked Mariejois, it's mentioned that it shut down before it could do any major damage. It was ordered to be destroyed by the Elders but scientists wanted to preserve it (a la Ohara) and hid it on the island that would become Egghead.

This might be a confirmation that Venus has the Supreme Grade sword Shodai Kitetsu. One thing if I may add, to me it seems that the clash of the swords resulted in a "anormal" explosion, like if a clash of two cursed swords generated that. (analogy: two magnet repel themselves if pointed with the same pole at each other)

My whole thing about the "Mo" thing is that its probably a direct translation of kanji/Katakana used, so the English world could be completely different and that it could be the starting word of a sentence, title, name, etc so narrowing down to what he was about say specifically for that word is impossible. If it was a word pertaining to a title or name id go look for Japanese words that fit, that use the beginning letter of Mo and keep in mind Oda loves puns.
Seeing characters that haven't been relevant to the story in over 1000 chapters is the reason One Piece is the greatest, and its length only adds to the overall quality of the work. On a side note, I remember when we thought Egghead was gonna be a quick and simple(ish) arc, then everything with Bonnie, Kuma and the Gorosei happened. I do feel like we're approaching the finale of Egghead though, we'll most likely be done with Egghead before the year ends, but I can also see it ending in another month or so.

You did not consider Franky dad? Franky builds kids cool toys, talks/moves like a robot, makes wacky hairstyles, and sings stupid songs to make "his kids" laugh. Even in Water 7 before the straw hats he picked people up off the streets and took them in. He made them part of the 'Franky Family' so that they wouldn't feel alone. He makes a huge effort to be a father-figure to those who never had one because he knows what it feels like to be abandoned. Franky is the most attentive to the feelings of the Crew mates never has anything to prove and only just acts as support the crew both as a character and his role as shipwright.
17:24- Bonney should deage the Ancient Robot to act as a distraction for the Elders. It would give her more agency of her own accord and justify her role in Egghead beyond Vegapunk giving her command over the Kuma Pacifista and being Kuma's motivation.
My interpretation is the marines are reacting to Vegapunk saying the Roger pirates learned the truth, so now even them have a reason to go after the One Piece if they wanna know the full story Vegapunk is telling.

It's been sixteen 16 years since Robin asked Rayleigh about the "Will of D" and the Void Century. This was in Chapter 507, released July 2008. To this day we know nothing. That tease was unnecessary.
How could there be a "traitor" among the D clan??? It's not like they're any sort of unified force. They're not on a team... That wouldn't make any sense at all...
I think Vegapunk may be saying “a flame,” as it ties into the idea that the war was motivated by the grab for power via the unlimited energy source, to which the WG is closest to accessing a la the mother flame. This would also line up with the image of the world being thrust into darkness with the loss of the old kingdom and this energy source. Thus, if there were “another flame,” it would tie into the series’ imagery of Luffy, the sun god, bringing forth the dawn of the new age by igniting passion and hope in the oppressed (paralleling Ace’s flames, which ignited the new era after Marineford). In the context of the war it could also mean that the D clan are a power which can match the mother flame/ancient weapon, positioning their strength as essential to winning the war, which would give some hope or console the scared public. But it could also set up a connection between Luffy, Joyboy, and the unlimited energy source, which has been theorized to be derived from the Nika fruit, that ties their shared will together through a tangible object.
In chapter 1067, Vegapunk does mention that the iron giant ran out of power before he could cause any damage in Marijoa. The elders, if they were alive back then, probably didn't even need to fight it. The World Government at th time did order it to be destroyed, but scientists at the time were so curious about it that they preserved it through the ages
I don’t expect it to happen, but I think it’s possible for the transmission to come back online. The elders didn’t destroy the robot, just kinda knocked it down. It’s possible they just scared the snail into cutting off the transmission and the snail could theoretically just come back on
Honestly the end of the chapter had me thinking that the message might not be done. Seemed like York and Mars were more questioning whether it was over but seeming to still think it was.
Great take on the end of the message. For these types of things (cut-off messages) it’s hard to focus on narrative. Everyone jumps to what they want it to be versus what the narrative is telling us. It’s the same with Luffy’s dream. With that said, Oda does tend to weave the story in odd ways before finally giving us a true narrative beat.

i’m still super interested in york’s statement about the timeline of events. when vegapunk recorded the message, how he realized lulusia was gone and THEN collected data to predict the earthquake, how he took the precautions of hiding the transponder snail in the iron giant, all while allegedly not know that york was the traitor (since by her words he couldn’t have been acting when she did the reveal to him). i feel like there’s still one piece (lol) of the puzzle that we’re missing here

When Oda said(in an SBS) if the strawhats were a family, Franky'd be the dad, Jimbei hadn't joined for a long time. Brook is an easy grandpa and Frankey was the next oldest so i think that's where Oda came from

Franky builds kids cool toys, talks/moves like a robot, makes wacky hairstyles, and sings stupid songs to make "his kids" laugh.
Even in Water 7 before the straw hats he picked people up off the streets and took them in. He made them part of the 'Franky Family' so that they wouldn't feel alone. He makes a huge effort to be a father-figure to those who never had one because he knows what it feels like to be abandoned.
Franky is the most attentive to the feelings of the Crew mates never has anything to prove and only just acts as support the crew both as a character and his role as shipwright.

17:24- Bonney should deage the Ancient Robot to act as a distraction for the Elders. It would give her more agency of her own accord and justify her role in Egghead beyond Vegapunk giving her command over the Kuma Pacifista and being Kuma's motivation.
My interpretation is the marines are reacting to Vegapunk saying the Roger pirates learned the truth, so now even them have a reason to go after the One Piece if they wanna know the full story Vegapunk is telling.

It's been sixteen 16 years since Robin asked Rayleigh about the "Will of D" and the Void Century. This was in Chapter 507, released July 2008. To this day we know nothing. That tease was unnecessary.

I think Vegapunk may be saying “a flame,” as it ties into the idea that the war was motivated by the grab for power via the unlimited energy source, to which the WG is closest to accessing a la the mother flame. This would also line up with the image of the world being thrust into darkness with the loss of the old kingdom and this energy source. Thus, if there were “another flame,” it would tie into the series’ imagery of Luffy, the sun god, bringing forth the dawn of the new age by igniting passion and hope in the oppressed (paralleling Ace’s flames, which ignited the new era after Marineford). In the context of the war it could also mean that the D clan are a power which can match the mother flame/ancient weapon, positioning their strength as essential to winning the war, which would give some hope or console the scared public. But it could also set up a connection between Luffy, Joyboy, and the unlimited energy source, which has been theorized to be derived from the Nika fruit, that ties their shared will together through a tangible object.
In chapter 1067, Vegapunk does mention that the iron giant ran out of power before he could cause any damage in Marijoa. The elders, if they were alive back then, probably didn't even need to fight it. The World Government at th time did order it to be destroyed, but scientists at the time were so curious about it that they preserved it through the ages

I don’t expect it to happen, but I think it’s possible for the transmission to come back online. The elders didn’t destroy the robot, just kinda knocked it down. It’s possible they just scared the snail into cutting off the transmission and the snail could theoretically just come back on
Honestly the end of the chapter had me thinking that the message might not be done. Seemed like York and Mars were more questioning whether it was over but seeming to still think it was.
Great take on the end of the message. For these types of things (cut-off messages) it’s hard to focus on narrative. Everyone jumps to what they want it to be versus what the narrative is telling us. It’s the same with Luffy’s dream. With that said, Oda does tend to weave the story in odd ways before finally giving us a true narrative beat.
Yes, in this OP manga chapter there are plenty of wholesome panels (some of my favourites are around the marines, including Tashigi, Smoker, X-Drake and Koby) 😍💖🌊
