Here's a compilation of drawing hacks to celebrate the release of my How To Draw Chibi book! This new edition has been updated for 2023 and I'm so pleased it's out again. Chibi style is ideal for beginners because you don't need as much knowledge in anatomy and proportion. It's also great fun to draw and often more suited for comic strips or illustrations. A huge thanks to all the other artists who contributed their characters to the book as well. This video took quite a long time to make as I wanted to include several different types of art. I actually filmed a lot more footage covering different paper types, fineliner comparisons etc but I think I have to save those for a future video! I’m always skeptical of drawing hacks because most of the time they don’t explain why they work and that often makes them fail when you actually try them but these are actually really good! I’m currently taking a painting class so it’ll be fun to incorporate some of these ideas into my own style!

I remember seeing that book in stores years ago when I was younger, but I was (still am) so awful at drawing even just stick figures so I didn't even bother. My friend did get it though and brought it to school , but she was actually good at art.
