Thanks for sharing! And I would love to hear more deep dives into questions, especially about starting up the workshop and process! The analogy about building your own workbenches was also helpful :)

I loved that you started the video out with one of my favorite sounding engines that is the Audi V10

Thank you for answering my questions and you swayed me on the fuel cell I did some research and they are a lot more sterile and safe I wanna run e85 (none pump) so I will go with one and change out the fuel lines.

What widebody kit did you use? Love the lines, best I’ve seen and you did an excellent job on the install.

I just got a project 240z I got recently glad I found your channel I have someone I can finally ask questions on what to do it now. I’m lucky that I managed to get one in good condition that has a new ls1 and th350 I know it’s not the best trans for it but I was wondering if you think it’s worth keeping and just waiting for it to bust and swapping it out with a t56 in the future.

I’m also trying to find someone a place to get the transmission mount fabricated so I can start getting everything else in order. Any tips on anything I should look out for when trying to find someone that can fabricate it

There's nothing really wrong with a TH350, especially if you've already got it mated to the engine. A fun project is one you can drive and enjoy in between phases. T56's, even used have become so freaking expensive it's difficult to justify. Depending on your power goals, you might find the cd09 manual from a 350z to fit the bill at a much lower cost (and footprint). I would also consider picking up an inexpensive MIG welder if you're going to pay someone to build the mounts otherwise. That means having to transport the car, having them set the driveline angles etc. I've always personally taken the tradeoff of spending the same (or sometimes more) money to buy the tooling rather than relying on shops. I'd recommend looking at your end goals for the car and seeing if you can justify getting some basic fabrication equipment to start working with. These old datsuns have a tendency of snow balling, and you might wind up regretting having to take the car somewhere every time you find something needing repaired. The big thing for the trans mount is driveline angle and making sure it's secured more than just to the thin Datsun floorboards. Plates on the top side will help distribute the torque.

@@GrindhousePerformance Thanks for the tips dude. I totally see where youre coming from with buying the tool and being able to do these kinds of things in the future I just dont have any experience with welding (although I should) and I just dont want to buy a welding machine over 1k and waste time making something that im probably gonna screw up and have wrong. Plus i doubt i have other machinery that i would need to completely fabricate everything. I called a few places saying around 300$ and then I have other places saying 800 maybe 1000 or 1200 one of my friends said 300 for transmission mount and crossmembers is wayyy too cheap. What's the real difference in quality in those prices? Also how can i find out about how i want the car to sound because i know it has to be custom since there's no aftermarket systems for this kind of stuff. any idea on what pieces of ways i could explain to a muffler shop on how to get it to sound like how i want? I dont think i make very good car noises with my mouth

The discrepancy on pricing can have a lot more to do with the way the individual shops are run versus the actual quality of work. For instance, the guy charging more might either be covering himself to protect for the unknown, or he might be trying to take advantage of you because you don't sound confident in what you want over the phone. The more expensive one might also be including features such as powder coating, or incorporating the mount to a poly bushing he's expecting to have to provide. $300 does sound cheap, but if they're not painting anything, the trans is already in the car, and you're already providing the bushings, it could be done. Steel prices are incredibly expensive right now, but I'd say 800 is high unless you're living in like CA or TX. Not a ton of material is used for this. I would send the expensive place a link to a similar z car mount, like the apex engineered one, and send some photos under the car. Them seeing the price of the apex piece might influence their pricing or workload expectations. It's always more expensive to build a one off, though. Make sure the mount will have provisions to help clear a future exhaust system or else the exhaust will be way too low. As far as exhausts go, fortunately there's a ton of LS content on UA-cam you can reference for what kinds of mufflers will generally produce the sound you want. There's nothing wrong with screwing up the parts you're learning to fabricate. Take a deep look at every single thing needing welding on the whole car and it might prove worth your time
