It has been stated that northern ash is what Eddie used when building his original Frankenstrat. This model is the closest I could get to re-creating what he originally built minus a few custom specs I added. 
EVH Frankenstrats I, II, III built by my friend Mike Hedrick, out of Los Osos, California.

Oh wow. You must be the family member I hear so much about. Mike has built all three of these Frankenstrats for me, a Randy Rhodes flying V, the EVH shark, and a Greeny Les Paul. You sure have an awesome collection. I couldn’t agree more about Uncle Mike’s craftsmanship and attention to detail. Trying to learn a little bit from him when I can.
