Saints aren’t worshipped by Christians/Catholics. They’re venerated which is very different. They’re seen as models to follow to live a good and pious life and we ask them for help to guide us. Worship implies sacrifice and the only sacrifice we Catholics make is at Mass in the Eucharist to/for God. There are no sacrifices made for saints. Wording is very important and stating that any saint is “worshipped” by the Catholic Church is blasphemous.
They’re role models for us Catholics nothing more but I can understand the confusion when we light up a candle or swing a incense censer in front of statue or icon of Jesus or the saints but that’s not equal of worshiping it, we don’t see them as gods or goddesses they’re more reminders of the faith nothing more
The place where Antapis was martyred was greek ruled part turkey. Pergamum. This just was in suggested videos so yes this should be under Christian playlist Lol
Nonnus's Dionysiaca as "interesting as the longest and most elaborate example we have of Greek myths in their final stage of degeneracy," but cautions that "anyone who uses Nonnos as a handbook to any sort of normal and genuinely classical mythology will be grievously misled," nevertheless he goes on to say "the searcher into sundry odd corners will be rewarded for his pains, and even those who are studying the subject more generally cannot afford to neglect this belated product of the learned fancy of Hellenized Egypt”
Bring me the fennel, rattle the cymbals, ye Muses! put in my hand the wand of Dionysos whom I sing: but bring me a partner for your dance in the neighbouring island of Paros,1 Proteus of many turns, that he may appear in all his diversity of shapes, since I twang my harp to a diversity of songs. For if, as a serpent, he should glide along his winding trail, I will sing my god’s achievement, how with ivy-wreathed wand he destroyed the horrid hosts of Giants serpent-haired. If as a lion he shake his bristling mane, I will cry “Euoi!”
If Jesus Christ is not real or God, then why these martyrs face their death and persecutions with fearless and very confident to what they are preaching?
Faith is a strong thing, and faith doesn't care about facts. I'm not saying Jesus Christ isn't the Messiah, (I don't believe, but I don't judge those who do) but what you're saying makes no sense. Martyrs being brave has nothing to do with weather Jesus Christ was the son of God.
@@SnakenBacon87 indeed, faith is a strong thing, but where is their faith come from? I mean why they've got a strong faith like that? Its because they've witnessed everything. They live with Christ and they even witnessed all his miracles or even how he rose up from the dead after 3 days from his death. I dont know if you get what I mean
@@commissardamian then what about those miracles they saw? Those resurrection, healing the sick and resurrecting the dead? Do you think they will not preach it if they are not witnessing it?
@nakagoseiryu6921 oh you believe they saw miracles? Because why? They said so? They wouldn't lie for power and control now would they? Not like all religion is is power and control.
There is no Biblical evidence that Peter ever went to Rome, any information that he did only comes from tradition. Paul is identified as apostle to the gentiles. Peter did not play as great a role in Jerusalem as suggested as can be seen that it was James not Peter who was head in Jerusalem, also the fact that Paul rebuked Peter for his double standard behavior is a sign he was no different than the other apostles. In regards to the false teaching that Christ made Peter head of the church based on "upon this rock" He is saying this in regards to what Peter said which was. Mat 16:13 When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am? Mat 16:14 And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets. Mat 16:15 He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? Mat 16:16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. Mat 16:17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.
Go then look at the historical records yourself and ask again what if? Jesus Christ is Lord of all, God the son. Think why all these people would die for this belief? They knew it was all true

I have long since left the Catholic church but this hill I will die on along with venerating vs worship Mary and that angels are not dead humans

Interesting but why was this tagged under "Greek mythology"?
Yeah it’s not mythology it’s facts
Under history and christianity
Yeah I don't get that either. Should be Christian Mythology
@@WildMen4444mythology? These are all historical figures that even atheist historians agree have lived. You aren’t very bright are you?

Because people will believe anything, very gullible. Tell them they'll be rewarded for something and they'll do anything
