Do you believe in equal protection of the law? Hundreds have defied congressional subpoenas, cited for contempt, no action by DoJ, in particular former AG Holder in 2012. The law applies to all, or to none. In the latter case, jailing someone is just the act of thugs.

He'll spread this out until the Committee is voted out after the mid-terms hoping that helps him. Then, he'll delay it more, hoping for a WH turnover in 2024. Very simple counter defense... Congress referred Bannon for contempt on the 19 of October. The DOJ did not indict him until November 12th. During those 24 days, when he could have quickly changed course and testified, did he really think he was "negotiating' with the committee?
He had a lot longer than that to go and testify to the Committee. He waited until the week before his court date AND he offered to go in only of the contempt was dropped. He's not used to accountabilility.
It would not have mattered. Bannon is a Republican. Democrats need to get a precedent set that Republicans can be prosecuted for ignoring a subpoena from Congress.

Biden has granted Bannon no executive privilege. And you have to respond to a subpoena and assert privilege; you cannot ignore a subpoena, as Bannon did twice.
And then there’s that pesky crime exemption to all privileged communications …
Then you would know in the past Congress has issued dozens of subpoenas, and the DoJ routinely refuses to enforce them, particularly in the Obama years, most infamously AG Holder. There is the current rule of law, no penalty. It’s not debatable. Why would you want the law broken just to punish this man, and is that the act of a tyrant?
I’ll believe it when I see him led to federal prison. No delays, no appeals, actually serving time for a crime.

How is one juror going to help him? They have to all agree beyond a reasonable doubt. Wouldn't they deliberate to persuade the one juror? It's not like one juror is going to persuade the other 11? Hopefully, they can reason with facts unless a MAGA snuck in, then that's a horse of a different color.
