I wish every yugioh game was like this, a literally rpg. You have a character and run around in a world and duel, why can’t they do this for the regular rule yugioh games? I want a straight up rpg with a story, monster animations for ever card, all of it. God, I would never put that game down if they made it, well only to buy the next version of it.
I’m so happy to see you talk about this! I just found it completely outta nowhere and now it’s what genuinely got me back into Yu-Gi-Oh! amazing video as always!
Personally this sounds great. Reminds me of when duel links first released. As a casual player miss and prefer how Yu-Gi-Oh originally was not all this new complicated stuff. Especially these one to two turn ko builds. Not as fun.
I like the idea of it. It really gives player the chance to make a comeback instead of surrendering in master rules environment when you are at a disadvantage and rely on drawing a card that makes a comeback
After playing master duel and re learning how to play after 10 years im looking for something to play on the go with my switch lite . I heard this one wasn't like normal yugioh but was super fun anyways
I get not building a deck to post game is definitely a downer it’s one of my favorite things in legacy of the duelist. The idea of taking out synchros, xyd, pendulum and all those cards though and feeling like simpler yugioh sounds like a cool change of pace to me though. I’m not saying I don’t like those rules it’s why I own legacy to play all the different styles but sometimes a simpler dueling premise is nice. The idea of using the whole hand each turn is cool. I think the one thing I’m iffy on is only having one legend card in a deck. As someone who grew up with yugioh watching the original with yugi and Kaiba and having blue eyes, dark magician and red eyes I like having at least blue eyes and dark magician in my deck lol. I might check this out though with it being only $10 on sale right now
We need this but for master dueling, reminds me kf tag force, i really enjoyed those alot! If this was done from the beginning of yugioh id prob look at it different, but the 7th season of yugioh is going backwards, i really hope one day the switch or other consoles get an open world master duel yugioh game filled with all the anime characters, make ur own character n immerse in there world :)
We need Konami to drop the English language patch on our Japanese physical Switch copy of Rush Duel vidro game. I gave Konami my money five times for the physical Japanese Switch Rush Duel video game.
You can only edit your deck AFTER beating the story!? What the actual hell? I'm in the mood for a singleplayer card game and I was looking into either this one or Shadowverse Champion's Battle and that aspect just sealed the deal, Shadowverse it is - what's even the point of having a freeform, relaxed progression system if you're not going to let players actually interact with it until they're already done?
I played through the entire game and enjoyed it a lot! I actually like this style of dueling, initially I didn’t think I would, but I decided to give it a chance. Great game, and I got it on sale for $10 🎉😅
Thanks for doing a review ! I wish Konami did at least a LITTLE marketing on this, I have so many friends with strong nostalgia for ygo but they haven’t heard of this
Nostalgia doesn't apply when an important aspect of YGO is missing: maturity / stakes. Yami Yugi / Yusei have been exchanged for rainbow colored hair toddlers with the biggest stakes probably being winning some tournament and I'd be surprised if there's a proper antagonist at all. The Shadowverse 3DS game suffered from this same issue; the new character designs and storyline is completely neutered and only 'interesting' for kids whos age = close to the minimum PG rating. Yugioh released in the last few years can therefore no longer be the Yugioh of old, with all this ultra sensitivity censoring / neutering / snowflake pandering, even if the gameplay mechanics aspect leans more towards it.
I can’t speak for the game, but the Sevens anime is about protecting the freedom to defy Goha and play Rush Duels. It’s child-friendly without being childish, and while it’s not classic Yugioh it’s a respectful addition to the franchise.
About the grind. You can somewhat ease it up by befriending new people while dueling online. I have 15 friends through matches and the GP gain multiplier is at x2.4. So you can get more GP from NPC battles. But man, good luck finding players online.
@@Sbrandon12 I'm relatively new to ygo (grew up w the 2001 anime dub but never learned the rules proper till i started playing legacy of the duelist last year) and ive been addicted to this game. so easy to get lost in it and i like the cheesy/campy story lol
I'm not trying to be that guy but this review didn't do the game justice. If I haven't played this game already I would walk away thinking I couldn't get the cards I needed because I couldn't afford the shop packs, but in reality you unlock at sizable amount of the cards from the packs just by dueling through the story, so the shop sort of functions as a capping off of the cards you just didn't get yet.
honestly i like the concept of rush duel on paper. but in execution it’s just not that great. multiple summons is a bit much. maybe draw till you get five cards is cool, but multiple summons makes the game too chaotic. i got this game before watching this but i don’t necessarily regret it but maybe my money would have been better spent on pokemon x on 3ds.
well nothing will beat tag force games story wise and the rush duel makes it too easy to summon like before that we used to summon whatever we draw was easy and the focus were on high lvl monsters which were rare then we had to tribute summon which what I like because the focus is on the spell and trap cards and monster abilities it's exciting to build a deck and use werid combos like I fused the elemental heroes with a beast deck I use and I went through everyone if you wanna talk about rush a duel Zain ends his matches in less than 5 turns and he was hard and in 5Ds I fused the spell casters deck I use with the junk deck or whatever it's name is and I was unstoppable story wise, but now I can special summon anything any time and the loss of second main phase is pain I attack then use second phase to activate traps and spells it's annoying and I'm positive most of the 90s gen agree with it the rush duel is the worst gimmick ever like the last summoning method I was ok with is the synchro summon and yet it was easy to do, Yu Gi card game was never easy to play and we loved it now why do you make it simple and ruin the fun of building a deck
Why didn't they just make it to were u play at the point from the 1st season of the anime instead of the latest part, also if the game does well will they update to make it longer seeing as how their is a eShop section in the game
From what I’ve heard, the eShop is there for dlc that’s already available in Japan that added the fusion support that the card game got in Japan. After that, who knows? It all depends on if Konami wants to keep supporting it or pulls a LOTD and just stops.
The Story is not even related to the anime at all. It is a completely original one. Fusion is not in the game yet and the next update brings a new maximum set and the starter decks. The update afterwards has Fusion whihc still need to be announced.
Glad I watched this, thank you! So upset with Konami. Been waiting years for a good yugioh game with open world/jrpg aspects, they finally make one, and it's total trash 🤦♂️ What's the point of a yugioh game that you can't make your own deck? 😂
Uhh, so it’s like 2005 old-school YGO? Beatdown decks all day long? That.. sounds like it’ll get boring real fast. The fun of YGO for me was me combo-ing off like crazy as a result of a super well-tuned deck that just works, having to play these duels “slowly” sounds boring. It sounds monotonous, if that makes sense. The low number of cards is concerning as well, how many different decks can we actually make from a card pool that small. Is it like that or am I wrong? Are there new cards specifically only for Rush Duels? If yes, how good or crazy those cards are?
Basically everything is different. Many cards from the OCG/TCG were made again for Rush Duel, but it’s an entirely new game with a set of cards only for Rush Duels. Main game cards can’t be used in rush duels and vice versa.
@Salman Putra I guess so, you’re probably right on that one. I guess that it has been so long since the last YGO WC game on the DS, that has exploration/RPG elements on it alongside the card games, that I was kinda going this is the continuation of that game (in fact, it is), but the gameplay just doesn’t sound like a YGO game that I would like to play. I guess there is an audience for this game, but sadly it’s not targeted for me T.T
Not quite. The "floor" can certainly be at 2005 level with "summon big guy and attack" strategies, but the ceiling is much higher than that. There are combos, there are different playstyles ("corporate chemical cure" deck is my favourite right now for how ridiculous it is), the game just puts more emphasis on the battle phase.
@@NeroVingian40 Beatdown in 2005? Maybe in highschool but in the competitive scene the game state was already much faster.
