You don't need to have a "fashion show" for us every time. I think I speak for a lot of us that we just enjoy hearing from you now and then about "whatever". A Vivmom video is like a visit with a good friend/neighbor!
I lost my husband last fall, and you help me get around my grief. I can never thank you for what you give all of us every time you post anything. Thank you so much, Vivmom 😊
I am a time waster and procrastinator. I really like orangutan and lamb videos. I also need to see every UA-cam I come across of the royal family, UFOs, religions and our brother aliens. Oh, I forgot about crochet and other needle arts. I love listening to whatever you feel like talking about, pattern hauls, pattern hacks, fabric hauls and any tips or tricks that you may care to share. The fashion shows are a bonus and always a welcome one.
I have a fridge magnet that says “ A Lady Never Discusses the Size of Her Fabric Stash “. I love it. I buy fabric without anything in mind what I’m going to use it for but at least I have it. 😊
Always get the local newspaper on the day a baby is born so they can see the news from their birthdate. Also decor and fashion and food magazines. I saved my grandkid’s to give them on their 18th birthday. Just had the first one turn 18! She loved it so much.
I have an old Fabricland bumper sticker that I put up in my sewing room that says “The person who dies with the most fabric wins. People who see it, look around, and say “You win.”
You are addicted! We are now all as bad as you, but thanks to you and Covid lock down I have made about 12 or so dresses, still going. We all now need bigger houses to put all out new clothes. Thanks Zeta 👍
I, too, am a fabricholic. Thank God that I do not live driving distance to Fabric Mart. My sewing room is big, plus I use the closet and tubs along the wall in my office, plus I have a guest room stuffed. But not just fabric: yarn, crafts, patterns, books, and the tools. But it is better than buying whiskey. I keep vowing not to buy any more. Ha. Thanks for the tour. I do love the fashion shows. Happy New Year!
Oh Viv!!!!! But YOU ARE INTERESTING!!!!! YOU…. Just being you, and I have been anxiously waiting for you to pop up on here!!!! I can hardly wait to see the baby clothes!!!! I sewed some lounge pants and a raglan top out of fleece for Christmas gifts. Was that ever a learning curve!!!!! After working on my serger for hours because it wasn’t sewing right! Cutting off too much fabric and found out it was all because the knife wasn’t up all the way!!!! Then regular machine skipping stitches on the fleece! I’m not giving up though because you are so motivating and encouraging!!!!! Keep on keeping on!!!!!! ❤️💕
Love to see you back. You do not have to worry about your collection of fabric I might even surpass your collection. I think we have an addition which does not hurt anyone. Looking forward for 2023 and all your sewing projects.
👋 from Charlottesville! I'm baby-baby-baby sitting and in heaven. Pretty sure no more baby clothes, though - those things are a pain! Congrats on the coverstitch - that will make your life so much easier, and who needs lessons on how to use it when you have Joy? ❤
Need to add....you might need an intervention! LOL! That's more fabric than I could sew in a lifetime. Just the thought of moving it all to pain the room...
I was so glad you spoke up about vendors, so many don't pay any attention on who they use or buy from and it's disheartening...I don't approve of that 'evil vendor' either, only use them when we have to. ; ) I'll have to spend some time at fabric mart the next time I need a certain fabric. Thank you! We must vote with our pocketbook, it's so very important these days, we must try to support those who adhere to our values. God bless you Viv.
When my friends were having their babies I used to sew them stuffed toys and soft dolls with wardrobes. I find it's so much easier to make animals and very simple doll clothes rather than wearable baby items. I even used some primary colored (washable) upholstery fabrics for teddy bears, and they became favored companions.
I love you. I found you on here about 2 months ago and you encouraged me to make 2 tops for ME! I have sewed for my kids, friends and never fur myself. And I love the tops and have worn them. Keep these coming. I am an artist and paint all the time but when I need a change, now I can pull out the machine and sew! 😊
I’m so happy to hear this, Sharon! Isn’t it great to know that you’ve got this skill for when you want to wear something new but don’t want the fuss and aggravation of clothes shopping? It really is a nifty hobby and one that gives happiness long after the project is finished. Thanks for watching and writing!😃
YAY! I was so excited to see you again. You made my day! I can’t wait until you do your fashion show, and I also love it when you do a sew along. I am so disappointed in myself! I try to make things, but haven’t had a good experience yet. Mainly has to do with the fitting and pattern adjustment! Wish you lived closer to me. You are such a joy!
It’s so nice to see you and chat. I love your fashion shows but the main reason I watch your videos is because of you. I will still watch if there is no fashion show. Glad to know you are well.
Knew you were enjoying just chilling !!! Sewing is something I take "spells of" and it should be enjoyed, not a chore ! Toddler dresses with ruffles are garments I like to make, so bright and fun.
Oh my goodness! Join the "world class time waster club!" I totally get it. We go through seasons of productivity and slack for sure. Still, happy to see you here today. 💜💛
What a nice surprise! Happy to see you're doing great! Yes,your sewing studio has everything that you need it looks like and more. Great fabrics and a wonderful new machine! Congrats Vivmom! Looking forward to seeing your fashion show soon! Yay!!!!🤗
Hi Viv, So glad your back, I love your vlogs, you make them interesting and honest ( and you make me laugh) thank you for that. Looking forward to seeing the baby dresses and what ever you make for yourself. Happy sewing xxxx
Drowning in fabric? We're in the same boat. I plan to spend some time cleaning up my sewing room. The going is Very slow. LOVE the fabric! WHo can pass up such inexpensive fabric?! Certainly not me!
Good to see you well and back...know that fabric flood feeling...you are soooo tidy..my fabric haul is often stored in non see through plastic bags..grim.
So happy for you on purchasing a cover stitch machine. Once you get used to using it you will 😍 love it. Back when I was sewing for children my favourite inspiration came from Martha Pullen and her fabulous magazine. I don’t know if she is still around but I loved her . Love your sewing space ! Who needs a dining room right!
Happy new year! Wednesday I dug out two blouses I cut out 3 years ago. They have languished because I had gained some weight. Well, after cutting out sugar and treats for the last 6 months, they will now fit when I finish them! I'm getting a little excited to go to town. They are really wearable toiles, but good enough to get started. You always inspire me, so I'll sew with you in mind. Keep the hits coming!
Wow! Beautiful fabric! Get the tana lawn! I’d love to see what you make for yourself! I love it soooooo much! I loved Laura Ashely dresses in the 80’s and 90’s and this was what they were made from! I would wear tana lawn every day.
Viv, Liberty Tana Lawn is luscious. It stays crisp and cool in the hottest weather. I made a Tana Lawn top when I was in Atlanta and it looked good on humid August days. And we watch for you, not the fashion show! 😉
Janome owns Elna. When I bought my Janome Continental M7, it included an Elna iron press. You bought a lot of the fabrics I did from FM. The Tori Burch knit makes perfect underpants (Pamela’s Patterns)
OMG we have our first grandchild and I'm also making baby clothes, booties etc and yikes it's TOUGH! and Spoonflower is the site I started with for cute doggie prints. Can't say that i've been shopping there much... $$$$$!! Fabric Mart is my go to place and hope to visit sometime. I'm in the Fingerl Lakes of NY. 4 hrs +
Oh my goodness!!! What a treat when I saw your new video. I've really missed you and am glad you're back. Looking forward to your next video. Keep us smiling and inspired.💗
Such a happy surprise to see you again, Viv! Made my day! I enjoy all your videos, whether they are chat, new makes or fabric hauls. Mostly your great friendly personality, though! Happiest of New Years to you!
Hello fellow time waster 😆 you don’t have to have a fashion show to be interesting, I just love hearing about the fabric you bought and your thoughts about it..that’s what’s interesting to me 🥰
Gosh, I’ve been missing you! I must say your space is very colorful, LOL! I got a coverstitch machine during the pandemic and watched some videos online. It isn’t that difficult to learn. I’ll be looking forward to some videos from you on your journey to mastering it😁 oh and I have to smile at your new obsession with sewing baby clothes because several years ago in my sewing adventures I got big into sewing little girls dresses because there were so many ADORABLE fabrics available. Funny thing was, I didn’t have anyone to give them to at the time. They eventually got given away and I sure had fun sewing them. Enjoy and thanks for sharing😁❤️
Very nice fabrics and I like that you showed your sewing room too! I also remember your channel everyday because I am watching sewing channel including yours…everyday or when I have my time to sew. Thank you for hearing from you ! Looking forward to seeing you next time or February , as you said! ❤❤😊😊
At least your hubby doesn't complain about you having lots of fabric. I don't think my husband understood much money I save him by making my own clothing.🤣 Although I do think I may to get another container or 2 for my fabric.
About time vivmom we have miss you, we’ll I have miss and you fashion shows looking flower to see, I do have a janome cover stitch it was intimidating at first but once you learn how to used is all good. Looking forward happy sewing Carmen from Florida
Great video! I look for your videos, so was glad to see you back. I have been looking at your past videos, I like seeing your makes, and it's really helpful to see what fabric and pattern you chose for each one. I especially like it if you use a pattern I have, or can easily get! I don't have a fabric store nearby, but my friend has a ginormous fabric stash like yours, and since she quit sewing she lets me pull from hers. Then I get to figure out what in the heck it is, and how much of it I have... so we all have our ways of "wasting" time! It's all good! Nice to see your happy smile again!
So glad to see you back!!! I really missed you! I also made a robe for a Christmas gift and it fit the girl perfectly. I also made a lot of pillowcases and throw pillows. So now I'm burned out! LOL! Looking forward to the next fashion show! Thank you so much!
Happy New Year! Welcome back,Vivmom! So much fabric,so many informations, you are overloaded..,..but wonderfu l,and l like your new sewing machine.Thank you so much!
Think of this as an incubation period. When the time goes, and grandbabies arrive, you will be ready, and it would be nice to hear reviews of children's patterns too!
keep a "swatch" card (index card with info. written on it) with stapled fabric trim of the fabric in lil' photo box with the pattern number on card with the swatches of fabric. So I can remember which pattern I used to make the item. Started doing this so I could evaluate the type of fabric that worked best for the specific pattern but, a lot of times I used the swatch to "target" the same type of fabric when I shop in store. Rayon vs cotton blend vs chaillis vs cotton vs linen? Now I have a swatch of the type of fabric I really want for that pattern project.
What a terrific surprise. Good to see you and, oh my gosh, I got a glimpse of the Ziggyest-Zig ever. Warmed my heart to see the both of you. Live and sew in a way that makes you happy, Viv!
Oooh. You’re back! Happy new year Viv✝️🇺🇸🙏. I love my cover stitch. Have you thought about moving the fabric upstairs and using the dining room solely for sewing? Just an idea. 😁😁
Happy NewYear!!! You made my day! Glad you’ll be sharing your makes in February! Love your sewing area. I need to make a decision soon about designating an a sewing area. That’s my Project for 2023. #sewing2023
Thanks for the video. I love that fabric behind you on the couch. The one with the white/ivory background and the stripes. You should do a raffle and raffle off some fabric lol
Happy New Year Vivmom, yes I have missed you!! However I understand!! I always enjoy your fashion show , but I am always glad to see you and the fashion show! But It is nice to hear how you are doing too! So get on and just talk , it’s ok! See you next time! I just had a great grand baby so I will be sewing for her also. Hope to see you soon! 😊
Whoot Whoot you’re back!!! Was praying that you are well… and not burnt out!! Lol Anyway, I discovered Fabric Mart , through your recommendations, early December 2022. I have ordered 3 times since and sewing my head off! Like you , I was the teen that sewed all my clothes in the 70s ( they were soooo cool!!) but haven’t sewed much clothing in the decades since because , well let’s face it, raising a family , work , and fast fashion got in the way. It was way more frugal to shop at BJs, Kohls, Ross , TJMaxx, you know… Well with Fabric Mart I can enjoyably and with financial sense sew again !!! Love the ITYs , Tori Richards , 2-3 dollar specials and Mystery Bundles. And they get my fabric to me within7-8 days down here in SWFL! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for who you are and the joy you bring so many!!
You’re so funny! Love your videos with or without your great fashion shows. Don’t be afraid of learning your new coverstitch machine! You will love it and it’s a game changer when sewing knits!
I just happened on your channel..and subscribed. I know how you feel about the Coverstitch Machine. I am in the UK and there is a Tutorial by the Stitch Sisters that I think that everyone who buys a machine should do. It is not free but I had my machine in it's box for literally 3 months before someone told me about it. Now it really is my friend. Looking forward to your nest vlog.
You crack me up! I kept checking your channel for a new video and literally let out a little squeal when I saw one posted. I found you 2021 and was so inspired by your fashion shows that I dusted off the machines and started back into sewing. I have been having a blast sewing for myself again. Fortunately for me, my newest set of grand babies comes from a daughter in law who shares my love of things handmade. They recently moved back to PA from Idaho and this Grammy has been sewing up a storm. I purchased a cover stitch machine. It took me 2 weeks to unbox it. I have only sewn test fabric with it as I’m a tad frightened. Since sewing for the newest grand babies, the “older” ones have taken an interest and I’m full on making hoodies, button down shirts, flared pants and leggings along with rompers and dresses. I say adopt all the neighborhood babies, friends and families babies and sew sew sew. You can show us your makes, pattern reviews and suggestions!
YAY! You're back!!! So happy you didn't burn out or "lose your sew-jo", as I hoped wasn't the case. Sent Joy a comment on her video post today asking about you and she assured me you were fine, just busy. Can't wait for your fashion shows and pattern reviews to start back up!!! Happy New Year to you and your family!
Nice to see you! I’m close to as much fabric as you. That’s the problem with Fabric Mart. The mind set of it won’t be there when I want it so have to buy ahead faster than I can sew it. Glad I don’t live as close as you do. 😄
Happy new year !! Lovely to see you, dont ever worry that you have nothing to show on your videos as I always feel as though I've had a chat with an old friend after watching you. Happy sewing 🥰😁
Happy New Year! My sewing mojo was in full swing during my third pregnancy. I wanted my little baby to have clothes that would fit well and look good. I was told that I was going to have a small baby. Sean surprised us all at 10lbs4 oz. He did not fit any of the newborn clothes but he fit clothes I had bought at the church kids clothing resale perfectly. I had bought these sweet outfits before I even knew I was pregnant! I learned that babies grow fast. My last sewing project was a horse hoodie for our 26year old Cinnamon. I love your channel and admit to rewatching episodes . Thanks.
You don't need to have a "fashion show" for us every time. I think I speak for a lot of us that we just enjoy hearing from you now and then about "whatever". A Vivmom video is like a visit with a good friend/neighbor!
Yes for real she is so much fun with her lovely personality 😊
Oh for Pete’s sake! Don’t let her off the hook!!! We want the damn fashion shows!!
Or yarn stash, either!!! 😳
Always get the local newspaper on the day a baby is born so they can see the news from their birthdate. Also decor and fashion and food magazines. I saved my grandkid’s to give them on their 18th birthday. Just had the first one turn 18! She loved it so much.
I’m a quilter and Robert Kauffman fabrics are my favorite
Cover stitch machines are fabulous! With a little practice, you will not be able or willing to sew without it. No kidding!
I miss your fashion shows, but it is saving me some money. Everytime you have a fashion show, I HAVE to buy the patterns/ fabric that you use, lol!!!
I have an old Fabricland bumper sticker that I put up in my sewing room that says “The person who dies with the most fabric wins. People who see it, look around, and say “You win.”
Anything you sew would be a treat to see. Doesn't have to be fashion show.
I sew in the dining room too, and the kitchen, and the living room come to think of it! I have patterns from the 1960's to present. Even baby.
My husband doesn’t complain about my dining room sewing and ironing station but if he did I would show him yours😂😂😂
I was just checking UA-cam to see if you were still around.
Watch Gail yellen. She’s the queen of things to do with sergers and cover stitch machines.
You are amazing. It’s nice to see the patterns come alive. I truly enjoyed seeing the clothes. ❤❤❤
Thank you, Esperanza! What a lovely comment to find this morning.😄
YAY! I was so excited to see you again. You made my day! I can’t wait until you do your fashion show, and I also love it when you do a sew along. I am so disappointed in myself! I too said "no new fabric until I sew some of my stash". It lasted about a week 😂 When the sale price is too good to pass up...
Oh my goodness! Join the "world class time waster club!" I totally get it. We go through seasons of productivity and slack for sure. Still, happy to see you here today. 💜💛

This is just as interesting as your fashion shows! Love to y'all, too! 😁❤
Such a happy surprise to see you again, Viv! Made my day! I enjoy all your videos, whether they are chat, new makes or fabric hauls. Mostly your great friendly personality, though! Happiest of New Years to you!
I see the mint fabric with KITTIES!!!! 😻😻
Good eye! I forgot to show that one and I love it! It’s flannel and has atomic themed cats on it!

Janome is elna since the original swiss elna (Tavaro) closed in 1992.
Learning to use the Coverstitch is not difficult. It is almost like using a sewing machine.
I have really missed you and your monthly fashion shows. I also have been in a sewing slump and instead video watch 🇨🇦
Good to see you back. Missed you.
You will love/hate the coverstitch machine!
About time vivmom we have miss you, we’ll I have miss and you fashion shows looking flower to see, I do have a janome cover stitch it was intimidating at first but once you learn how to used is all good. Looking forward happy sewing Carmen from Florida
Welcomed back, we missed you. Wow, I believe we have the same amount of fabric. Can't wait to see what you sew next.
Missed you! missed the enjoyment I get here in UK from watching and learning from you - so happy you were just taking ‘Viv time’. 😊
I took a trip to Fabric Mart; my head is still spinning. But I loved it.
I know it’s a dumb question but, what is ITY?😕
Happy New Year to you and your wonderful family! So nice to hear from you!!
You will love your cover stitch machine!
Oh my goodness! So good to see you. I have missed you. The Norman Rockwell fabric will make a cute apron! Such a great idea.

Viv do make something in Liberty Tana Lawn, you may find it is stronger than you expect it to be!
So glad to see you back!!! I really missed you! I also made a robe for a Christmas gift and it fit the girl perfectly. I also made a lot of pillowcases and throw pillows. So now I'm burned out! LOL! Looking forward to the next fashion show! Thank you so much!

Oooh. You’re back! Happy new year Viv✝️🇺🇸🙏. I love my cover stitch. Have you thought about moving the fabric upstairs and using the dining room solely for sewing? Just an idea. 😁😁
I moved my fabric to a bedroom, organized it by type and color, and LOVE it.
Great to have a video from you Viv, Happy New Year to you all 🎊 xx. I look forward to your February fashion show, we've missed you xx
Good to see you! Ohhh Spoonflower… right don’t get me started……. 🤔🤨.
Happy NewYear!!! You made my day! Glad you’ll be sharing your makes in February! Love your sewing area. I need to make a decision soon about designating an a sewing area. That’s my Project for 2023. #sewing2023
Missed you! Glad you're back! Happy 2023!!
Soooooo happy to see you back...looking forward to the fashion shows. Happy New Year....we love you
Sewing, and collect fabrics are two completely different hobbies.
Happy new year and yes, you are interesting even when not doing a fashion show :)
You remind me of me! I have seriously developed an addiction, once again!. But I am enjoying sewing my stash down, nevertheless!
So good to see your beautiful smiling face! Happy new year to you and your gorgeous family! xxxxx
Welcome back. That is a healthy fabric stash!!
Welcome Libby! Thanks for the tip on Stitch Sisters!!
Love you!!!! You are so encouraging our family loves you videos😂!!!!!!!!!!
Loved this session, Viv! And yes, I want to see that Easy Sew!! Congrats on that!! ❤️
Thanks.
i can totally live in your dining/sewing room! happy new year...look forward to seeing the mini makes tfs:)
