The buildings on the street are beautiful, each has a soul and character, built with great passion, love and art today's buildings cannot compete in beauty with the old ones. It's great to see that most of them are well cared for and I hope they stay that way, pearls of architecture.
@@ChaplineHouse Yes, unfortunately a lot has been lost irretrievably and beautiful historical buildings are being destroyed in every corner of the world, very sad.
Love the old historic homes. Maintaining an old home is exhausting and you are maintaining and restoring at the same time. To do this is always been a dream of mine. Loved the tour. I’ll take the ivy covered one. 😀
Thank you. It is a lot of work, but so rewarding! Equal parts hard work and passion. But, it is doable, let us know when you start living the dream. We know you can do it! For us, having the love and support of our community (online and IRL) is priceless. Thanks for watching. Oh, and we love the ivy covered one, too! Cissy has named it ‘The Jungle House’
Thank you for the tour. It is good to put all the imagery together and to get the lay of the land. Lovely view from the back verandah! Chapline house is beginning to look like her real self with all the work you have done! Love from Mez, Australia.
The paint on our foundation has caused some issues over time and will need to be 'parged' to bring back the historic beauty. As you can see in the video, it's been repaired over the years with an inappropriate product that has caused 'spalling', which is when the face of the masonry falls off
Thank you for the tour I absolutely appreciate the old houses. I can see why you and your family moved.
Thanks! It's a really special place.

Well said. It is heartbreaking to lose even a single one of them
