This performance is enchanting. Bob's becoming my favorite flatpicker.

That is beautiful Bob!! I'm now the proud owner of a D1A Traditional. Mine has a 1 3/4" nut width. I learned recently that Collings will custom size the nut width on their Traditional series. That being said, I've always favored that width. What nut width are you most comfortable with? I'm assuming that some guitars in your arsenal have 1 11/16" or 1 23/32"?? Just curious, for you, why you might prefer one over the other? Thanks for the feedback.

Curious about your setup specs. String heights on E and e then action relief? You play really softly so I imagine its lower than bluegrass standards. And how much do you worry about if it drifts out of spec with humidity?

CA P on this guitar it’s factory spec on action. At times I play softer but always with a firm right hand for tone. I think a loose relaxed wrist can give the impression of softness but actually be quite powerful. I keep all my guitar’s humidified with the D’ADDARIO Humidipak system does I don’t have much drift at all. Because I play a variety of guitars (body sizes, vintage vs newer) I sorta have come to adjust to them easily, I don’t really think about it much ;-).

@@missouriboy66 Thats the best way. I am currently struggling with differences in a few of my guitars and notice some buzz on certain frets and instead of just playing, I am tinkering for perfection. I know better too. Its hard. But watching your D1AT videos makes me want one. I have a D2h and a 55 D18 but I really feel like Im missing a D1a. You understand...

CA P I also recommend the PLEK treatment for any guitar. Worth the small investment to have it done.

@@missouriboy66 If I had one close I would but there arent any around Cleveland. I just noticed you have a 30s d18. The suda sounds more like my 50s, the martin sounds like a martin, and the d1at sounds more stiff. Is that a fair statement? Whats your take on the 3? I missed out on a suda because I didnt know what I was looking at when it was for sale. Missed out.
