Bob's playing is quiet, humble genius.
Beautiful brother
Great playng! Technically amazing.
Who needs mindfulness? Listening to this is pure bliss.
mindfulness is not necessarily for seeking bliss.
This track is blissfull though.
awesome playing. And the finish on that guitar is perfect. So glasslike.
Great therapy for my ears. Thanks bunches
This really is gorgeous 😊
It sure is when Bob Minner is playing for us on his porch! Thanks for the beautiful tunes Bob.
Like others have said, I stumbled on your videos (1st playing the resonator) while I was on my quest to buy my first Sunburst J-45, ultimately settling on a Gibson J-45, to compliment my D28cw. Not only did manage to get another guitar I love, I discovered this amazing guitar player who may be, even, probably be my current favorite guitar player. I know now you have other gigs but please keep you solo music out in a world that needs it. The Collings, the Gibson Southern Jumbo, and the Beard Resonator (I think) wonderfully meld with your playing.
Thanks for the kind words Wayne. I’ll do my best to keep the videos coming…
I also have an HD-28v and a J-45, great to have choices in life.
Inspiring guitar playing
I stumbled upon this by accident while browsing some fine acoustic guitars. A really wonderful guitar and some excellent playing as well. I never heard of you mr Minner but I bought the album SOLO without hesitation. Your music and playing style compliments the guitar and vice versa.
That hammer-on at 2:57 - sublime, gets me every time.
That Collins is so well balanced
Even the birds stop to listen.
Beautiful !!!
DAmn! this sound as smooth as this super shinning guitar
That really is so sweet, you're the only guitarist that can make me shed a tear or two.
these are great - thank you for sharing
So effortless but oh "so sweet"......... Thank you Bob! I need to get me one of those CJ-45's.
I took delivery of my CJ45T a few days ago, they're a wonderful guitar. Now if only I could play anywhere as well as Bob.
@@avelingdx Nice! I will need to sell a few of my Martin’s to raise the $$$ to buy me one of these.
I saw you play the CJ-45 on the Artisan Guitars video w/Jesse. Thanks for turning me onto the nickel bronze strings. Use them on my D & a 0014 as well. Love your tone & playing Bob.
Wow...simply beautiful. Thx
Not sure how I found your channel, but surely glad I did. Beautiful playing! You have a new fan down here in Louisiana. Thank goodness for youtube😀

That’s what it’s all about!!
Hello Bobby My name is Jason Smith and I believe you knew my father, Paul Smith. He was always proud to talk about you And how he built you a guitar.
Liked it before I even heard it!
Just stumbled upon this channel, i absolutely love your style of playing. So effortless
Superb job - nice, easygoing style and arrangement. THIS is the way it ought to be done. Great to see guitars like that in the hands of people who know what to do with them. However, that dull finish needs to be addressed to make it shine. I typically use some coarse steel wool followed by 80 grit sandpaper to bring up the gloss on my guitars.
Please come out with a gospel cd. You're awesome
My acoustic hymns project “Six String Sanctuary” is available as a download on my website at www.minnerguitar.com
If there were tabs for this song somewhere the way this is done, I would sure love to find it!.
Beautiful playing. Love your new album. Your CJ45 is the Adi top with mahogany back and sides, right? What differences do you notice between the standard spruce and adi tops?
Yes mine is Adi. I’ve not played a Sitka version yet. Typically, Adi tends to be a quicker response and “snap”, but that can be subjective.
wow great tune, great tone at the Collings..what flat pick and what strings were you using?
Hey Bob, would you be so kind to recommend some proven sources to learn your style of folk playing? I’m not gonna lie, Inkove tour playing. Thank you so much.
The technique is called flatpicking, there's also crosspicking but flatpicking is the basic technique you'll learn first. Norman blake did it a lot
Listen to the Carter family-and then Norman Blake, some Clarence White and doc Watson, Tony Rice, probably some Dan Crary here too
Enchanting. Drop D on this?
Meravellós
Lovely!
New to your UA-cam channel. What are you recording with?
The CJ-45 sounds like I'm on the porch with you.
Watching/Listening on a PC with a pretty decent 2.1 system w/ sub
Sounds Incredible.
All the Best from sunny Florida. db
I am using the Apogee Hype Mic with no compression setting, into my iPhone to capture 1080 video. Thanks for watching!
Update...taking a break from finishing up with the tax man (15 April). Now listening through the home studio rig.
With the Yamaha HS8s...it REALLY feels like I'm on the porch. Thanks!
so is your other cj sb you recorded liams lullaby with a rosewood or mahogany?
all sounds so sweet and purdy!
The guitar ist still to shiny :-) great playing !
Sure is sweet.
If you had to choose only one guitar of yours which would it be?
🙂❤️🎶🎶🎶
Is this how they play in heaven?
Came across this by chance - bought Bob's Sanctuary album just like that. Look, I like all kinds of music (Bluegrass, EDM, Power Metal, etc) - but...I feel like (with some exceptions of course) what has become modern 'worship music' falls so far short of...music...for me (worshipful or otherwise). I feel it's a dis-service to lose the beauty and greatness of many of the old hymns, especially when played as Bob has here.
Beautiful!
If this is not the best advert for Collings I'll eat my hat, a real weapon in fantastic hands
