This piece was performed at the 2010 Honor Band Festival at the University of North Dakota. It was composed by Karl L. King in 1931. Thank you for listening! All comments are appreciated!
I remember playing this in 8th-grade district band as 3rd chair euphonium... now I'm an 11th grader and I've gotten 1st chair in international honor band two years in a row. It's always fun to look back on old honor band songs, just because we spent so little time on them that for once they aren't completely drilled into our heads by the time we're done with the last performance!
Were playing it in my band class and this is a pretty easy song to be honest once you get the rhythms down that is. We're also playing yorkshire ballad and abracadabra.
This march is not even hard why everybody complaining and this is an easy typo for this march.. I march in military style band and we play marches harder than this every year like come on😂😂
Richard Clark Ik and our band calls marches(galop) like this a circus march bc they play these in circus bands and it's supposed to be a bit harder like this year we played a circus march called "Battle of the Winds" in our drill (which is a screamer)
Let me just sum up the comments: "My school is playing this and I play X and it's so hard/fast/fun"
The faster you play this, the better it is.
IHateNumbers234 and my teacher plays it at 60 for who knows why
I know I'm late, but I'm playing another piece that makes this one somehow seem slow...
The quieter the better
Veronica Romo I prefer lots of loudness 🤯 with plenty of quiet moments as well.
Can confirm
Karl King sure loved his "screamers" and so do I. BRAVO.

Sounds a lot like Circus Days. With the style and form of the piece. Karl l King is distributing his talents all across his pieces

Karl L. King was a virtuoso euphonium player, so I can see where you’re coming from.
We played this as a band and played it faster in middle school
Varsity band, middle school doing this for our march
Reminds me of Gallop from First Suite for Band
I'm playing this for band it's hard lol

Playing on 2X speed is suicide

톰과 제리 브금으로 쓰면 대환장...
Anyone from Winding Waters?
I have to play snare drum for this in wind ensemble, and I hate it
BARITONES UNITE
why does this sound like a Fight Song ?
Most fight songs are old marches like this and then arranged for marching bands
I think that's because its so damn fast.
Anyone from UNI?

totally agree. It's just rehearsing the rhythms and working your way faster and faster!

Jennifer O'Brian It depends, it's a march or a gallop, a gallop is a lot faster than a march, and that's what the band on this video is playing it as.
