That a man ever possessed this voice at the same time as having the amazing gift/chops on guitar remains one of the great genetic events of Canadian music history. @@frankdavis4348 nope, but he'll sizzle and fry in outer darkness, weeping, wailing and gnashing of teeth, where the worm diet not and the fire isn't quenched.
Ricky Reynolds AMEN...I CAN IDENTIFY WITH THIS POST! One of the most Impressive Artists of that time...I'm not sure even when their debute album came out...the late 70's?... what...1977? 78?
75 actually. Was there ever another power trio with such talent and ability, harmonic vocals and melodies, and such powerful music with such a positive messages as them in the history of classic rock? Some would say Rush right away I;m sure, but although they had very comparable lead vocals, the harmonies Triumph possessed were not comparable, and Rush's message was as much more on the esoteric end of the spectrum just as much as their music was on the progressive end of the spectrum. Both were incredible power trios though for certain! The Police took it into a new fusion era whereas ZZ Top held onto more of the classic rock feel from the hard rock era of Jimi Hendrix and Cream with a bit more of the commercial side of the classic rock era, whereas those that followed after the Police brought it into more of a grunge approach like Nirvana and Green Day.
+Rebekah Hedrick This is true!.....I thought the same thing when I saw them....I told my gf, this sounds like the tape in my Car....Rik is a hell of a singer.....

This is such a bad ass version of this song. Those people got themselves a real treat that night. From the look of it many of them were making memories, right in the moment.
This song is in my DNA; it's how you know I'm a 70's boy from the Midwest. Styx, REO Speedwagon, Cheap Trick, Alice Cooper, Bob Seger, Aerosmith's original on-drugs lineup; all before LA ever thought of Van Halen. We thought they were the pinnacle, but they were the beginning of the end, a path that ultimately led to...Winger. These guys are everything that was badass-one word, not two- about the 70s
Sending this song from one of my favorite bands to my littlest love Aubree....you're so brave my sweet and your fighting the good fight honey. Omg! What happened to bands like this? I know someone will tell me...they're out there, you have to look. Damnit...I shouldn't have to!!! Actual musicians and a person that can sing! For real, without tons of electronic crap on their voice! These guys rocked!!!
Most music of today sucks on every level. This is why so many of us are so nostalgic about the 70’s and 80’s when music was music! This kind of music never gets old to me.
If you're listening to the big, multi-market stations (or even the multi-station corporations) you're doing it wrong. The best new stuff is generally not played on them until the very last. Of course, that has always been the case to some extent. Check out The Rockets - also from the 80s (ua-cam.com/video/EzazgG-y7uM/v-deo.html). Big in Michigan but never got nationwide. Have friends in other countries suggest some music. Go down the rabbit hole of UA-cam suggestions and eventually you'll find yourself with something fresh and energizing. Maybe Mongolian Folk Metal like The Hu (their languages word for Mongol), Bosa Nova like Nova (out of Brazil), or rock like Indigenous. It is out there.

TriumphAlliedForces Rik you are amazing as ever. Great to see you still touring with Dave. You put on an amazing show
Just stopping in from 2018 to remind you that this is still one of the greatest rock anthems of all time.
Man I been listening to old triumph all day. they were my very favorite band growing up and believe me I got alot of a lack being a young black dude that was into a Canadian band. such talent and such great songs. they were a huge band but could you imagine if they were starting out today??
I applaud your taste in music Sir.
Rock on bro
Awesome
Fighting addiction 30 plus years. Fight the good fight veryday in recovery.
You can't help it if you just have excellent taste in music. Keep on rocking my friend!
I'm from detroit we heard both Canadian and American music growing up,that's why a Canadian Band has the Anthem for Rock and Roll...Steppenwolf...Born to be Wild
This is one American who loves this band. Saw them twice.
FIGHT THE GOOD FIGHT IS SCRIPTURE NO WONDER THEY DIDNT GET THE FAME THEY DESERVED MAN THESE GUYS ROCK 2018

Amen! Rightly so! Fight the good fight of faith! God Reigns!
@@frankdavis4348 nope, but he'll sizzle and fry in outer darkness, weeping, wailing and gnashing of teeth, where the worm diet not and the fire isn't quenched.
You know - everyone talks about Rik's guitar wizardry, and yes, he is one of the best of the 80's absolutely - but my gosh: CHECK OUT THOSE VOCALS!
Triumph and Rush should have done a tour together, that would have been cool to see!
Robert Haynal-That would have been AWESOME!!!!
They would need 2 stages with all the pyro stuff Triumph used....lol
They did along with April Wine
False
True
The good book 📖 says it's better to give than to receive I do my best to do my part!!!!!!!
"Fight the good fight every moment, it's the only way". Truth.
This beautiful song has helped me through some of the most dire of situations.
Praise The Rock Radio teal me something I don't no but a lot of people need a lift ya no what I meen

this song speaks to the heart

Deep Purple Perfect Strangers
One of the great bands that never got the props they deserved. Great musicians... Great songs...
Sounds like a recording, that singer knows what he's doing, one of the best quality voices ive heard in rock, not a bad fiddle players either.
I just turned 60 And I find myself listen to songs that I heard when I was Is 17.... Never realized I miss them
I feel like no one here is talking about Emmett's amazing guitar playing. Absolutely mind-blowing solo's....Definitely the most underrated guitarist out there
Canada's three contributions to the best guitarists in the world: Rik Emmett, Alex Lifeson, and of course, the incomparable Frank Marino.
unbelievable singing........even a climactic high note near the end.....Epic rock.
One of the best Canadian rock bands of all time. Rock on TRIUMPH...........
Jeffrey Padgett
For sure, RUSH is awesome...
don't forget BTO
One of the best rock bands of all time, period. Regardless of where they are from.
So is Max Webster
Loved this song in the 80's growing up and then eventually the meaning got buried. So glad God reminded me of this song with the World situation as it is. I remember now. This is the song of Gen X and I am now awake.
You my husband took you life in 94 and left these lyrics its 2021, 22, 23 now 2024 the 3rd still lives and like the story and song. God ill never forget the night and this pandemic has brought me back to jan 3 94 again Rest In Peace Craig my husband
*Fight The GOod Fight And Stay In The 80's With Triumph*
The ending on this version is absolute gold!
These jams gave you hope, dreams, want to live. The concerts were inspiring!! Man, its a whole world in each song!!
Love this and these guys. From 16 to 61 and I still love Triumph! The Lyrics and Guitar are the best and Mike and Gil are great too! Fight the good fight! Now it means more than ever with so much evil in the world! God bless!
One of the greatest Canadian songs. Rush and Triumph are the best power treo EVER!!
These guys are everything that was badass-one word, not two- about the 70s
yep! and im from CO
Well said, Mojo. Triumph meant so much to this awkward teen growing up in the 70s
this Shit makes me get chicken skin Hell yeah
I agree brother
Bout time I gotta hell yrsh
Tremendous sound from only 3 band members! Extraordinary!
Even better than the studio version! Rock masterpiece!!!
Sending this song from one of my favorite bands to my littlest love Aubree....you're so brave my sweet and your fighting the good fight honey. It's okay that you've been in the pediatric ICU for 13 days now, it's okay you spent your 7th birthday there, Grandma swears things will turn around for you and we will celebrate HUGE once you get better! I'm praying hard for you baby girl! This too shall pass! ❤️
This song grabbed my heart when I was a young kid and guided me through....
Lyle Galloway so great 😀
I hear you.. Never ever give up. Stays with you.
Me as well
Surely triumph is the most underrated band of the 1980s and 1990s they have songs with a positive message. America needs that again fight the good fight people
I WAS PRIVILEGE TO SEE
TRIUMPH IN 1984 DURING THEIR " THUNDER 7 TOUR ".! " MAGIC POWER "
" FIGHT THE GOOD FIGHT " & " LAY IT ON THE LINE " ARE MY 3 TOP FAVORITES. JUST PURE LYRICS BY RIK AND MOST EXCELLENT LEAD, RHYTHM AND DRUMS.
TRULY A PURE BAND. NEVER ANY
DEBAUCHERY, SEX, DRUGS OR CUSS WORDS...EVER.! DEFINITELY MUSIC TO LISTEN TO WHEN ONE IS IN NEED OF
UPLIFTING OR A PERSPECTIVE CHANGE.!!👍🤙
YUP
One of the most underrated bands of all time. Love me some TRIUMPH !
I saw them at the US Festival 1983. This song blew every other band and song away.
Was at the '83 US Festival - it was the best live performance I ever heard. This song is SO bad ass!!
I was there too, Triumph, JP and Scorpions were the best
I was there there's like being at Woodstock best for days concert ever
I was there best 4 Day concert ever just like Woodstock
I was there too at 17 years old.
probably the best live musicians ever badass
William Sain you got that right brother they kicked ass in the 80s especially when they did live shows
I GREW UP LISTENING TO ALL OF THIS GOOD MUSIC AND THERE WILL NEVER EVER BE ANYTHING LIKE IT AGAIN
A more relevant song than ever, definitely in my top 5 ever.
One of my favorite bands and they never got the recognition they deserved.
Best lyrics!!! Love this song!! #80's
Momo hope you have a great day beautiful

Still Rocking \m/
The most inspirational rock and roll song
Ever 🙏
Long live TRIUMPH !
STILL ROCKING UA-cam 2019 !
Still crankin up the radio at 70! They don't make'em like THIS anymore! Gentlemen, I salute you!
2023-my 10 year old daughter and I sing this song every morning before heading off to school. FIGHT THE GOOD FIGHT!! ❤❤
wow how I miss real rock & roll!!!!
If You Don't Know What it takes to put a POWER TRIO on stage and make a show like DYNOMITE Tri apptually then you don't know TRIUMPH. Their Musical production is next to none, Their visual and lighting. Same. Pyro Same. (I am a Pyro Tech.). We are talking about one of the best bands in the world and you know why? Because they still touch our hearts. Dare to prove Me Wrong.
@Perry Calder. I guess you missed the 2nd guitar player on stage. NOT a power trio if there are 4 of them. Just saying.
@@willfade7994 I agree 100%!👍😎🎸🎶
@@willfade7994
Indeed!!!
Kids don’t practice instruments for the most part it’s computer generated
Triumph will always be remembered in San Antonio TX "we love you "
*Truly Iconic Band That Will Live On In Every Fight We Fight In 2019 -2020*
No doubt
I continue to be in awe of Rik Emmett's vocals.... especially live. Amazing actually. The whole band was amazing.
And it looks relatively effortless for him to sing live like this. He's awesome!!! Great band too!!!
True greatness and this is just insane how good this sounds for the 1980's live concert.
Rik Emmett is the Greatest Rock Singer of ALL-TIME!!!
100% no freaking doubt
4:30 I love that when he hits his chest you can hear his voice waver. idk it makes it feel so much more real and visceral. what an incredible performance.
This is now America’s theme.
We either do it now or die. Triumph’s music like Anberlin’s FOREVER
I was falling in love with my husband when I heard Triumph play. There songs among other things are why we have been married 36 yrs!
I was in love to . With alllll the fantastic music....
holy crap!!!! So much talent!!!!
I sometimes forget how damn good Triumph was and how many good songs they had. Its good to be reminded every now and then
Almost surreal that youtube is recommending this 34 years later, but I was at this very show in Halifax. What a blast from the past!
Awesome song. Fight the good fight of faith in jesus name.
I wish i could go to a Triumph concert. I grew up to my grandparents listening to them and it just amaze me the talent is amazing. Erik Emmet was my fave. He’s got the most beautiful pristine tone without even trying.
