I don't know why I didn't expect for this to have me in absolute tears - but tears streaming in love! What a beautiful blessing for returning performers everywhere across the world. We are back. Thank you!! Safe journey, all!
I'll never forget when my mother and I saw "Fiddler on the Roof" with Zero Mostel. After the show, we went to the stage door to tell him how much we loved the show. We were the only audience members there! Zero Mostel was incredibly gracious.
I saw it, too, with Zero Mostel in his last round on Broadway as Tevye. I was very young and with my aunt. We did not go to the stage door....but even at 10yo, I was left very moved by the show. The meaning of the show.
I just worked wardrobe for a tour of this show. The cast was incredible, and they used the encore to dedicate the entire show run to everyone affected be the conflict in Ukraine. It is truly profound to be back, for theatre to "be back'". This is absolutely beautiful. To see how much this show, this song has touched so many people around the world, is so humbling, that I was able to be back and experience this. All my love to everyone in this video, thank you for this video.
Oh how I love listening to songs in a bunch of languages. This is beautiful.
This is such a stunningly beautiful piece, and getting to share it with these performers from across the world is so touching.
It has always been one of my favourite pieces from the show. Love this international version.
@@jasminderpinder I’ve never seen the show before, but I’m in a production that opens this weekend, and have come to adore this song. This international version is by far the most moving I’ve heard yet.
My husband and I met when we performed in Fiddler on the Roof together. This show will always have a special place in our hearts. We are so excited for theaters to begin opening safely again and to add to our theater family with casts to come. Thank you for this beautiful version that shows how all the around the world theater is important. ❤️
Daw!! ♥️ What parts did you and he play?
@@emj1766 He played Sasha (one of the Russian soldiers) and I played Fruma Sarah and one of the mother villagers.
WOW! STUNNING! From the first note and in it's entirety I listened to and watched this covered in chills, tears streaming down my face and my heart thumping in my chest .. what an extraordinarily beautiful collaboration. THIS is what humanity can do and be. THANK YOU to all who took part in putting this together. Much love and light. ♡
My goosebumps had goosebumps! That's how emotional this song made me.

I have listened to this several times today and shared it to my facebook page.....Shabbat shalom to all.....This is a gorgeous way to celebrate tonight.....and always....
That was the most beautiful version of the song I have ever heard. Thank you
Yes!!
outstanding💕💕💕💕💕💕
Gorgeous…my question is this, why are there two thumbs down on this? Do they not have a heart? This is such a class reindition of this classic piece!!!
I imagine those who did the thumbs down thing are either Americans who ONLY want to hear this in English or, as I have learned, some people who believe that making a musical out of Jewish pogroms was not appropriate. I do not agree with either and cried watching the above.
I'm an atheist but I love this song. I read a review that said "You don't have to be Jewish to love "Fiddler on the Roof" and I agree. Same way you don't have to be Austrian to love "The Sound of Music."
The Sabbath prayer is beautiful.
@@grievinggeekclairedixon3445 Oddly, your comments about being Jewish and liking Fiddler, or being Austrian to like the Sound Of Music....is quite the opposite. As a NYer, I was raised in a very Jewish based culture and most of my friends who are Jewish actually resent Fiddler for musicalizing a story about pogroms and segregation. In Austria, especially in Salzburg, I found next to no one who had ever seen the Sound of Music. Indeed, in the past few years, it was, finally, shown in a theatre in Salzburg for a gala charity thing and it had been the 1st time any of them had seen the film....! Many enjoyed it but many, remembering the German occupation and having been raised on the true story of the Von Trapp family, which is quite different from the story we see in the film (ie....the family didn't "Climb every Mountain" to escape but walked a km or 2 to the train station and took a train to Italy, right over the border. Had they climbed those mountains...they would have ended up in Hitler's back yard outside of Munich) and I believe many Austrians saw the film as a glamorization of the facts...and if you look at interviews with the family, today, the stories of Maria, in contrast to the Baron, are not very nice. He was, apparently, soft spoken and gentle. She, on the other hand..not so much. I get your point, though....one would not need to be black to appreciate a play about MLK as one did not need to be Italian to enjoy Fiorello, or any opera written in Italian. The shabbat prayer, as sung in this video, I, half Jewish, found so emotional...like being hit by a rock of emotion which just covered me in faith/tears/sadness/emotion. Cheers!
One of my favorite musicals I've ever done. Such rich and fond memories for me. A beautiful version to honor Broadway's opening. Be well all and Congratulations! Blessings - Judith 🎭🎵
Great cast, beautiful voices..... a pleasure to listen to....Gut Voch, Shavoua tov to you all
Impossível não chorar .
Senti tanta saudade do meu pai .
Eu era criança quando assistimos The Fidler on the Roof no cinema com meus pais e irmão
Parabéns a quem participou do vídeo, artistas, editores, produção final e diretores 😊
This is gorgeous. Shabbat Shalom. Here is to a safe return to theater.
So beautiful! Gut shabbos and a shana tova.
No fair making me cry on a Sunday morning. Just beautiful.
Fiddler is one of my favorite shows and one of a few that I have seen multiple times - this video was so wonderful and touching - and I am not Jewish
I fervently agree! You don't have to be Jewish to love Fiddler on the Roof.
There’s no better way to wake up to this beautiful rendition of Sabbath Prayer from Fiddler on the Roof. That’s so cool that there’s a beautiful star from The Philippines starring in this video. I hope that I will see this show on stage again. I saw this show in my high school in 1991, & my school mates did an amazing job of performing this gorgeous musical. As soon as the cast of FOTR come triumphantly back to the stage, break a leg! 🙏😉
Wow. I actually started to tear up...knowing the lyrics in English...so knowing what they were singing about. Very emotional.
I love this song!!! Wow this was so beautiful and I love all the different languages!
Beautiful! Gave me chills!
Beautiful, stunning, and touching.
An IMCREDIBLE compilstion: BRAVO!
This was stunning and gave me chills in the best way!!❤🎉
Simply beautiful.
Stunningly beautiful.
It's so amazing to hear this in every language. Beautiful. Thank you!!!!!
One of my favorite songs from this timeless play. So grateful to have been able to see the latest Broadway offering in Yiddish.
What an incredible video --- OUTSTANDING performance! Thank you for sharing this with the world 🌎 ❤️.
Cheers from California, USA 🇺🇸
What a beautiful video. Just what I needed to see today!
Wonderful gift for us!
Ooooh I didn't want to cry today, but here I am.
Beautiful, Shana Tovah to all :)
This was a great idea well executed. And some really good voices.
Thank you to each and every soul who manifested this.
So heartfelt. Brought tears to my eyes! 😭
This is my favorite song from Fiddler -- such a beautiful rendition.
Absolutely beautiful!
I hear it. This is beautiful. Tears.
Amen! Wonderful!
Not only is it multilayered in how the music and words are written, but the sentiment of asking God's blessing and protection is such a beautiful thing. And that is not only in the present danger of COVID, but in the original intent of the show - - observant Jews all over the world, from households that speak many different languages of the world, women lighting candles, bringing Shabbat and welcoming it with her family, Fathers singing "Woman of Virtue" from the book of Proverbs to their wives, and saying ancient blessings over his children.
What a horrible thing we have done, in walking away from these things!
Amazing on so many levels
Take the time to watch and listen.
Wonderful, fabulous, soulful, joyful!
WOW! I love this, brought tears to my eyes.💜
Now I need to go back and rewatch Motel Citizen! Beautiful video
I've been enjoying it the first time round - I wish more theaters did this seriously, Broadway or otherwise. It's fun and interesting and all that, but it also really connects an audience to the cast, which I love.
16 years ago, my then boyfriend, now husband, went to this show. It was our first as a couple.
Oh my goodness this is GORGEOUS! I had chills all over! I've always loved this song and hearing it in all th different languages was such a treat. Wonderful job to all the performers!
Beautiful performance
Continuo chorando e arrepiada .Muito obrigada por essa magia a todos vocês
Brings tears to my eyes every time I listen to this.
Beautiful!
世界中のキャストの中から選ばれるなんて、神田恭平さん凄いです👏
This is gorgeous, thank you for creating this and sharing with us all.
This is so beautiful! ❤️
Wow!
..beautiful...
Wow...I actually got chills watching that
@Jodi Redler so did I.
Ugh! Onion Kossacks in my house!!
So heartwarming
Amen! So touching
Absolutely AWESOME . . . but, in what language were the 'fiddle' players playing? ;-)
My 13 year old son played Motel this summer in his Youth Theater Troupe’s return to normal this past summer. The entire cast really enjoyed bringing this story to life; thank you for this beautiful international rendition ❤️
Yes, children need to carry the torch, so to speak. We must never forget history, and this is such a brilliant way to tell it. What happened to the people of Anatevka, is fact, and happened all over Eastern Europe, and beyond. Pograms and the Diaspora are history, and we must learn from that.
This is amazing!!!
Chills. ❤
I've seen this clip. The music is beautiful.
Okay, I just about cried watching this video!
Also, since they are making “Fiddler” for the screen a second time, could they cast Steven Skybell as Tevye?
They are?????
@@burtihal
Yep! With Thomas Kail directing!
This was beautiful. Who was the woman at the beginning and end with the white knit cap?
😊
😭😭
Now we know they have fooled you and us all with this closedown and everything else.
