- In this video on the 1968 Gravely Custom Convertible 7.6 HP L8 walk behind tractor we get closer to finding the source of the problem as to why the engine won't run. Along the way we do a little cable maintenance, check for spark, go through Gravely starting procedures, hunt for an electrical short, remove the hand grip, remove the kill button, test the stop switch in the handle and on the bench, open the magneto and give a little lesson on how to use a multimeter to test a switch (and how not to use a multimeter to test a switch).

Well, it wouldn't get the OSHA stamp of approval for sure!
+5 Acres on the Bayou that may be true sad that were over-regulated de-industrialized... spiritually blinded with pastors afraid to lose their 501c3 government-controlled Church... they want their Church to grow but in a non spiritual sense becoming a cemetery dead dried up bones Christians... House of the sick and the dying... sorry I went there Gravely Tractor shows what's enduring through the generations... isn't it great to have something you can count on and it's probably American-made too isn't it? everything breaks requires maintenance we want America to be great again it begins in the house of God.
Your killin me man!! I gotta hear it run!!!
+BCtruck, rebuild, repair, repurpose Hang on... Its coming!
That's a really good video. So many of them I see you can't hear the narration or they do the work with one hand and hold their camera in another. I just hope you're as skilled in Gravely repair as you are with video, LOL. Your machinelooks very similar to the old Gravely I just bought so I'll be looking for your other videos. Mine (L8) runs fine, but I'm having trouble getting it to move at a speed I want. Any video you can suggest will be appreciated.
I have a whole series of Gravley videos but none on the transmission. They are not very fast machines. Mine had a low and high gear. Some models had an additional lever for more gearing but I've never seen one. All the variation you have is gear selection and throttle control. Good luck with it!
So what's the deal man? Did you get it to run?
Yes it ran fine and I did several more videos about Gravely repairs.
