I cleaned my "in place":throttle body last year and that eliminated a long standing momentary hesitation on accelerating from a stop. I managed to avoid your followup high idle issue, fortunately. Good job. I liked that 75 degree air intake temp indicated on your analyzer. Thats certainly no the case here in New England.

I’m having the same problem only when and after a stop and a light acceleration it hesitated. Going to try clean in place

So I cleaned my maf sensor and I started having a really high idle so i started working on it again to find out I forgot to put in the air filter, whoops!

I cleaned my Trottle body as well a few days back, had the same high idle. By disconnecting the battery for a few minutes and reconnecting. It reset the start up ecu parameters . The runner then started and idled beautifully. .

Hey. Whats a normal idle rpm? I was having a hesitation issue on acceleration. And it seems like its idling low. Could the IAC be gunked up too?
I had a fuel line that was bent causing lack of fuel but I swapped it out and on the test drive it did hesitate a little but after driving and shutting it off halfway through it seemed fine but just idling low

You shouldn't use vaseline to lubricate o rings, the rubber absorbs the petroleum product, swells and becomes prone to cracking and leaking

@@mjmcomputers my iscv has 3 pins. When 2 and 3 are connected with multimeter it gives 10.5 voltage only. However, when Voltage at 2 is check, it gives 12.6 voltage. Why 2 and 3 being connected give less voltage 10.5???

Same reason why they told you never use Vaseline on a rubber. It will destroy the rubber and a latex rubber 🤪.

I cleaned my throttle body and now idle is at 1100 (in park). I called Toyota and they want almost $400 for a new IAC. valve cover gaskets were leaking so when I went to replace found that every single bolt on both sides were completely loose. I tightened them and replaced the intake. I decided to clean the throttle body and thats where the problem started. I'll have to go to the forum or talk to a dealer service shop and do some homework.

    • @mjmcomputers
      @mjmcomputers  6 років тому

it;s possible when you cleaned it it gummed up the IAC, you may need to clean it more and make sure it moves freely. Also make sure the wires are connected well and nothing is binding up the throttle.

That idle is too high. You want it to be around 750. Cleaning the iac is often just a bandaid fix. DON'T buy the el cheapo iac valves either as those don't work well for Toyota. My wife had an iac issue with her 4runner and she didn't want to spend the money to fix it right, so I cleaned it which worked for about a month. She bought an el cheapo iac which caused a stuck low idle. She ended up buying a factory iac for $220 and it fixed the issues. 750+/- a few numbers. It purrrrrs now. Also, those stubborn valve cover bolts are notorious for loosening up and causing oil leaks. I applied some medium strength loctite on them which helped. Don't use the high strength loctite.

Buddy your battery contacts! X ) I'm sure you had no choice but to fix it by now..lol I'm gonna have to pull it apart, also saw a good vid about the throttle pinion play, guy added a washer behind the assy and it took care of his issue.
    Thanks for makin the vid!

What is the green hose behind the throttle body (looks like a green garden hose)?

I got a Toyota Camry 2001 2.2 Litter These Codes shows up to my OBD 2 Reader P0300 P0302 P0303 P0304 .My engine lights are flashing But my car runs great accept those engines codes . So when you say Ignition Coil to change are you changing The Ignition coil wire Or the Ignition Coil Pack which one ?
In my car it only have those codes P0300 P0302 P0303 P0304 .But there s no hesitating or shaking or vibrating .my car runs great still .I still drive it like that .You see I just now fixed my over heating issue the last time .So maybe I figure that the over heating did throw those false codes and a blinking engine lights .So if I don't change anything on it can I still drive it like that ? Once in a while if I turn on the heat the blinking lights comes and go . It turns on and off .
I was cleaning.my. Throttle body control I d spray it with a throttle body Cleaning plus I sprayed that Idle Air without taking the hose. After that my car did not start any more . So you think it was my spark plug wires ,because I was changing I made a mistakes on placing the wires But then ,I place it back to where it orginal setting this time it almost tried to turn over . I was thinking resetting my IAC Valve maybe this will work .
any good info guys it would be helpful

2000+rpm idle in park after cleaning maf sensor and throttle body.
Better acceleration, smoother driving but later on I got a CEL for TPS. I unplugged it then plugged it back in and the CEL went away. Everything is a mystery, still high idle 🤦‍♂️

i just bought a 2000 camry v6 3.0 in immaculate condition. has been in the garage al its life, one owner and serviced regularly. i did a tune up and runs great but im having a high idle problem too. cold start is sitting at 1600 rpm but goes to a grand at warm temps. i wonder if this will be a similar issue as this? also increase economy? whats say i do the same and clean this thing up? any ideas?

I have a 96 four runner, the IAC sensor, started to vibrate and that coincided with the car starting but stopped, if not accelerated ..... does the sensor have something to do with it?

    • @mjmcomputers

May be causing it to idle too slow and stall.

Start with the easy things like tuneup and maintenance items. Fuel filter etc. when was list time you did the spark plugs? If the keep the transmission out of overdrive does it act differently?

If you cut out that section of the throttle body gasket to make it round instead of having that section restricting you'll get better airflow. You can buy them like that (trd superchargers use them) or you can just cut out that little section. Pointless to have it restricting for no reason
