Joe, are you aware that this video of yours is the first actually accurate and in depth decently taught lesson of that song on UA-cam, despite many other channels' attempts to teach it? This is quality. Well done. I searched them all when I was trying to learn a chord melody version and couldn't quite get all I needed. Yours is just right. Thanks. 😊 (Btw, I'm a family friend of Tommy, late Phil & Mandy). 😉
Absolutely beautiful Joe. Really understanding everything you go through in this tutorial is what I need to get me to the next level. I’ll be working through this one for a long time. It’s reassuring to see your development over 12 years on that old video. I’m hoping I‘ll be able to play this tune as well as you did back then. I think you’re the best teacher out there for my level. Rick Beato can still lose me, Marty doesn’t do the complex beautiful fingerstyle the same way. I think this is your perfect niche. Thanks again for the great lesson.
what an excellent arrangement and lesson! thanks so much for doing this Joe! For everyone out there I also recommend Tomo Fujitas lesson on this tune and mixing them both. You'll have loads of chords at your disposal.
Thanks a dozen for this. I had requested this song in the comment section of the hallelujah tutorial. Thanks again. Please do come up with advanced lessons. 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
Brilliant tutorial, Joe! You cover the basic chords and rhythms, the more advanced acoustic finger style with moving bass, melody and harmony, ,and a bit of music theory
Either you're super strong or you have a super nice setup with how easy you bend those strings. Do you know how low your action is set at the 12th fret? What scale length is that guitar and what string gauge do you use.
25” scale length, high E is a 0.14. The setup on my guitar is excellent. I do not measure the action. I feel the easy bending is mostly due to good left hand technique. If you check my Daily Exercises Course, the left hand exercises will show you what I do. joes.lnk.to/DailyExercises
Never heard this song. Love the chord progression and the bluesy back beat. Sounds very beautiful and somewhat jazzy, with those diminished chords. I came away with alot of ideas from your lesson, overall. Even though this isn't a song I would inwould really wanna learn. Let alone play pretty regularly. There's really alot going on here, in terms of music theory and creating and resolving musical tensions. So, I think there's plenty meat on the bone for anyone to take away from this lesson. This is why I watch your video lessons on here and I really appreciate what you do. Keep up the amazing work.
Amazing joe ...solo area is where I’m lacking been playin* covers and scales for years and using my ears Bit like Tommy so great insight Been listening to you for years but Would You do lesson on affirmation check your website now lol Your the Man love your work ...You and Gareth scored me lotta gigs Love ya Bro

Spent a few days working up my own arrangement then found this and threw it out, this is much, much better! Thanks.
The arrangement was as “lovely” as the Stevie Wonder song. Thanks for taking the time to prepare all of this for us.
