I love what you said, "guitar playing doesn't make you rich but makes you rich on the inside". And you sharing it with the world makes you far more rich and us with you. Your lessons are golden nuggets indeed, Thank you Mr. Fujita!
This is the best "Isn't She Lovely" lesson on the internet. I've been playing _very_ fast guitar solos for half of my life, but the "advanced" fills here are _really_ difficult when you don't have a solid chord changing technique. I'm going to practice this for days :D
Your generosity in sharing your knowledge, your willingness to inspire and uplift fellow guitarists, and your humble approach to your craft make you not only a virtuoso but also a guardian angel of the guitar community.
I hit a creative wall for a bit and I didn't know what to do. But I watched a video and it said if you can't compose, practice. If you can't practice, learn. I looked over the 7 modes, their chords, and figure out 2 positions to play all the modes in three note per strong patterns. This has honestly helped my playing so much in so many ways. When you only know major and minor it can feel like you're trapped in a box... But knowing (major, minor, Phrygian, Dorian, lydian, mixolydian, locrian) knowing all those scales pretty well makes you more confident. Or at least it made me more confident. I no longer feel like I'm in a box.. or like I have to choose certain notes, certain chords. All these 7 modes sound lovely, and if you want to change modes, if that sounds good.. follow your heart. Do it. My current practice regime is playing 2 scale positions of each mode for 5 minutes each. So 14 positions multiplied by five minutes, keeps me busy easily for an hour and a half to two hours everyday. Since I've started doing this I've gotten so many new exciting ideas. I encourage anyone to learn all the modes and to use them. One of those modes may vibe with you like no other. For me personally, I love lydian. It's so emotional to me. Not to mention practicing this has made my fingers so proficient on the fretboard, my fingers just land where they're supposed to. It's magical lol.
Thanks for sharing. You are very smart person who can figure out things pretty quick. Music is very deep! Please learn things slowly as much as you can. Major scale with good choices = magic moment!
Tomo-san thanks again! I could watch ten different videos from you playing this song. I sorta developed an addiction because of your kindness and optimism, and that's contagious! From Argentina with love
That Vox sound is like a locomotive, like an old choo choo train, chugging down the track, it has a lot to do with your strumming technique, when I think of jazz guitar, that's the sound I hear in my head, those sweet chords rolling down the track, thanks for another great lesson Tomo.
Thank you very much for your work. Very good playing, i'm a guitarist. I've studied Jazz for a long time, much years ago and i'm very pleased to learn this song with jazz chords now. Very good for my fingers and mind !
Tomo, this lesson is very helpful. I watched the version on Guitar Wisdom and this one and have mostly learned the different variations in each. The chord changes challenged the accuracy of my left hand while forcing me to maintain a tight rhythm with my right. I also learned a lot of useful chords here that I recognize from other songs
level 2 is a journey! That flat 13 to diminished chord change is challenging! Soon will make it to level 3 🎉🎉 this introduced me to some great new chords! Awesome as always and thanks for these lessons
That intro was awesome Tomo! Great lesson I'm watching. Thanks for your knowledge. I'm at a point where you always teach me something. Thanks again. The Wes Montgomery stuff totally inspiring.

I learnt this song before and I now have a question regarding the F#13 because the song is in the key of E and F#13 has the A# note which is not in the key of E so what's the reason that works? Thankyou
The F#13 acts as a secondary dominant chord to set up the B7sus4 after it, so the A# is basically just a leading tone for B. I hope that helps!
@@viceroy_raygun I see, that makes sense! Cool, thankyou!
You are thinking basic theory with all diatonic chords! This song has non-diatonic chord like F#7 (V7 of V)

Very simple! Jazz theory! Thanks so much!
How do you get your fingers in place so fast for chords. I really need that.
It's all about preparation & having a solid foundation. No magic! Pure hard work! Chromatic scale everyday for 10-15 minutes.
@@TomoFujitaMusic thank you! there’s no specific exercise you use to switch from one chord to another so fast? just chromatic exercises?
