  • 41001 receiving its newly overhauled Paxman Valenta power unit (S508) as part of Project Miller to restore the prototpye power car back to working order again. This engine lift took place at Neville Hill Depot in Leeds with the assistance of East Midlands Trains.

    The oil cooler on the front of the engine is very similar in size and shape to that fitted to the Paxman Ventura engines

    What was wrong with the original engine that was fitted to this prototype

      the original engine was missing many parts so it was just easier to install a new one
