I'd like too see how they make the clay pots - they have such thin walls.
They don't take precautions against breathing the smokey air!
Also...everyone is wearing sandals...and mostly work in a crouched position...backbreaking!
The working conditions are obviously poor. But the hygiene risk is minimal since they are melting the salt and using protection to their hands when breaking it up. The only step which is a bit dubious is when they cover up the salt casts with white salt using their feet.
The particulates. The CO2. The atmosphere. The climate. :-/

Used as a medicine in Ayurveda for mouth ulcers. Mixing with honey and apply in side the mouth
Any kind of sodium mixed with warm water helps sore throat.
You might as well evaporate some filthy ganges poop water for the same level taste and hygiene and a hell of a lot cheaper
Do hear about the red salt made up of blood
