Kubica even after all the accidents managed to win the championship in WRC2, ELMS, WEC and even now has a chance to win the next Championship in ELMS
Edit: He did win another Championship in ELMS!
Mans is a legend, period.
He did and I'm so proud he done it! He made me watch F1 when he start racing and now he made me watch WEC too. I hope he'll get much more victories in his carrier
and it's not over hoping for great race at next year le mans

Robert’s just happy to be alive, as we all should be. What a warrior

Not just happy to be alive, he's still crushing in racing. After crashes he still won championship in WRC2, 2x ELMS and WEC
Was your 1k like 😅
You forgot to mention one very important thing. Russel 0, Kubica 1
also Ralf Schumacher both 0 and 1 these days it seems ;)

a "zero point gecko" that's the one that I've heard

Everybody knows that, only media pretend to be stupid. Wait until Russel retires, they will regain their ability to do a proper math.

Growing up as a polish young kid into cars watching the only ever pole in f1 was something special. Everyone was watching f1 and hoping for Kubica, i remember when my family made parties and all guys were watching f1 and all girls were coming by from time to time and asking "which place is Kubica???". So humble, down to earth and so skilled, so consistent. Still to this day my idol, today i see a little Kubica in Oscar Piastri, he will definetly be on top one day. Little bit over dramatic, but thank you for sharing his story
It was similar experience for me when I was growing up watching Kubica. One of my pals went to Hungary to watch GP. Amazing experience for him . Anyway to me Kubica was like Małysz he was able to gather whole family to watch him competing .

spitting some facts there!
You talk as if you had some evidence that they were not equal. So share it, because otherwise, it’s just a statement from Kubica's fanboy.
@@user-741ddsiwm3d6 its just a polish meme, from polish f1 community, it has nothing to do with fanboyism. I'd send u a proof but u dont speak polish so, u can take my word as truth or learn polish to find evidence.
@@user-741ddsiwm3d6 Chinese GP. They've switched their cars for friday (because they were trying to find the issue), and suddenly Kubica got faster than Russell. So they've switched cars back for saturday. Kubica was just receiving older parts. (I mean, physically older - not when it comes to spec) Wiliams had manufacture problems with their composites. Carbon composite tend to lose their stiffness overtime under high loads, and when car parts lose stiffeness, car becomes less responsive and the feeling worsens.
Nevertheless, his later Raikkonen replacement has shown, that he's not the old Kubica anymore, as he was clearly outpaced by Giovinazzi.

It is so heartening that Robert has so many loyal fans around the world. Greetings from Poland.

What is never mentioned and for me is fucking absolutely insane and underrated in his story is that after his WRC2 championship he was rallying in a private WRC car and was winning WRC stages. Like he won 3 stages in Monte Carlo. THIS MAN - A REHABBING F1 DRIVER FUCKING BEAT LOEB, OGIER AND LATVALA WITH ONE HAND IN A PRIVATE TEAM CAR. Even if only on single stages, but how unbelievable is that???
yeah that guy got some special talent and skill behind the wheel, and literally like behind ANY wheel
He was not always behind Russel, He scored the one and only point for the team in 2019 despite the fact Russel had a better car. Now days he is very competitive in long distance races. The video is nice, but lil bit over dramatic and you should have mentioned that he left Williams on he's own terms and he is now doing very well.
I was waiting for someone to write this!
yeah but whole theme of the video is how unlucky he is lol
Polish Person here. It hurts to this day. Sztuka looked promising but his f3 season wasn't the best to say the least. It's great that at least Robert is successful in the other series, with a BROKEN HAND, i might add

This guy deserves a great Hollywood move about him after he retires. But he has still not finished yet!
not gonna happen, he ain't jewish
A Hollywood movie about a person from Poland ? Forget it. Never gonna happen.
8:00 podium in italy was more important because Kubica spend his whole teenage years racing in italy, he lived with italian family and speaks fluent italian.
13:00 bmw didnt help stopping development of 08 car to focus on 09. That went well as we know
16:00 he HAD signed contract with Ferrari for 2012 at this point.
19:00 dont forget Claire Williams deceived Kubica in 2018, promising him a seat in that season just to sell it to Sirotkin in last minute because he came with more $ than Kubica. Kubica said that he was asked by her to wait for the contract because they (Williams) were ironing out the details so he took her word, while she was using him to hustle Sirotkin.
20:00 and to add to his bad luck his car stopped on the last lap of Lemans 2021 from the lead in LMP2, but they won championship eventually in 23.
A living legend.
A genius behind the wheel.
And now you know how Top Gear came up with the idea of how Stig should look like ;)
had the pleasure to meet him once after watching him drive a WRC car, really humble, great man. He had no problem to chat a bit with his fans and that just impressed me really. Glad I could experience that!
Yea? But what's missing in the video is that he is still successfully competing in motorsport - On 1 September, he won the Lone Star Le Mans race becoming only the third racing driver in history to win a Formula 1 race and a WEC race after Fernando Alonso and Mark Webber.
Robert was fantastic, he still is considering. Glad he finally got to drive for Ferrari in WEC.
Also, huge own goal for BMW by not developing the 2008 car past that one win. For shame.
He's still racing for Ferrari right?
@@insertgenericusernamehere2402 yes, but not in the Factory team
@@official_Quube yeah still great to see him in a top tier Hypercar
@@official_Quube who cares if its factory car, when he owns the grid ONEHANDED?
@OPservatorV2 true
His story and career has not ended with F1, he won today ELMS Championship, endurance european series in LMP2 category, he is driving with Ferrari in AF Corse team in WEC, in this year he won on COTA. He is still great driver, racing is not only F1.
Ridiculous from BMW in 2008. Their only aim for the season was to win a race, and as soon as they did they stopped development - even though that win gave Kubica the title lead.
You said Ferrari and McLaren were "just too good" that season, but really there was so much inconsistency from Hamilton and Massa (and Raikkonen) that Kubica could've had a shot at the championship.
Yeah, the way BMW approached F1 was so stupid and clinical. You have to take your chance when it presents itself, not follow some checkbox list. You'll never know if you ever get that chance again. And BMW messed 2009 up big time and were gone by the end of the year. If they'd only seized the opportunity in 2008 and not given up on it immediately after that win in Canada to "focus on the next year". What could have been...
He could done sth bigger than Senna in Toleman and Lotus. Yeah I didnt forget about the luck.
Kubica is a hero and a motivation for myself in rally here in the United States!

Those were times when I really started watching F1. I always was playing F1 games but watching Massa, Kubica, Schumacher, Raikkonen, Alonso, Hamilton and Webber all together racing against each other was something else. So much legends at one place.
Great video. I think Kubica it's a very lucky man. He not only survive, he is a legend and a gran prix winner ❤
excatly, he made it to f1 only by his true skill and showed everybody what Kubica means. accidents happen, it's part of the sport we all love
I miss him, he's a national treasure. Never had the slightest idea how F1 worked but watched him race every single time he did.
I still remember watching Robert racing on sundays as a kid, what a madlad, true warrior.
Kubica was one of my absolute favourite drivers as a kid
As a polish guy i want to praise your pronouncement of polish words
You mean pronunciation?
@ yeah sr, english is not my first language
What an amazing driver. Too bad he didn't get a WDC he really deserved. Awesome video also worth every minute!
Thanks ❤️
Hi, lad! Great Channel. If you wanna know a side note, Kubica was treated and today still is, if I' m not mistaken, by my same physician (i don' t remeber the correct name in english, sorry) here in Tuscany, Italy. In the testing in spain with Renault after the crash there was also the physician with him. His lab has a full corner with Kubiza racing items: race suits, helmets, photos and trophies. Sometimes I see Robert here in my city, eating a pizza, pass by in car.. etc. It's a great person. it' s a pleasure to see him, I' m very sad thinking what could be this driver.. and even now is amazing!
Thanks for the trivia & cheers from Poland! Haven't been to Tuscany but lived & worked in Bologna and been to a few other cities. I have only good memories from Italy, will definitely come back some time!
Great material, man! I've been watching F1 for 35 years, but I've only had two heroes: Ayrton Senna and Robert Kubica. I've attended the 2010 Belgian Grand Prix where he finished on a podium. He did particularly well on older style drivers' tracks, such as Spa and Suzuka. Insane talent!
He is damn cursed - his story is so unbelievable, his skills are so astonishing, speed undeniable. I believe its not the end for Robert!
Some corrections - people were worried about his legs being injured during the Canadian crash, because the nose of the car was ripped off and his legs were visibly sticking out of the car while it was being thrown around.
The guardrail during the near fatal crash was incomplete in that place and was open towards the road - thats why his car didnt bounce off it but it jjust went into the car and through it. They were working on it and it was left in an unsafe state. He also didnt want to drive that rally that day - he had a feeling and he called the organisers to cancel, but they talked him into it.
on Misha Charodins Channel he once drove around the nordschleife. it is such an incredible piece of footage, because his talent is still visible .... and what happens to a car, when its driven by a f1 driver around the norschleife. some parts melted
True, definitely worth to watch. Apex borrowed him M4, he just do 10-15 laps ever before and he just put this car to his limits.
I used to race against Kubica many times as a kid we always went back and forth, he really was a great driver 💪 btw that’s me at 1:04 haha what a coincidence 😆
You could easily add his story from WEC and chase for a win in LeMans, when being in the lead in the LMP2 category, his car broken down on the LAST LAP !!!
I had the pleasure to meet Kubica at this years ELMS finals In Portimao and I always admired him and knew of his accident but I only ever realised how badly this affected his right arm when I met him irl. Absolutely incredible that he's still driving and winning!
While I was watching this I had goosebumps everytime they show theses beautiful cars and sound.... That was the golden era of Formula 1 for me, so many memories.....
KUBICA WON 5 junior championchips in 3 years - This was possible ,as faar as what i have been told by one of his racing colegues from that time : " When I finished totaly exhaused a race with robert, his dad was pushing another gokart for next class and he was winning that also while i barely could move my arms"
Greetings from Poland.
Yea, Robert is already finished in F1, however he is a good character to make a memes like "Gigakubica"
You forgot to mention a few things:
After winning the WRC2 championship he joined WRC for a season in 2014
He joined some GT series, then he went to WEC and he won the championship in LMP2 and is now a Hypercar driver for Ferrari's third car, they actually won at COTA some time ago.
Wow.. this story is unbelievable. What a fighter.
I've been watching Robert's and F1 since I was 13 yo, I never stopped following his career. I almost cried during that story, it's a part of life for many F1 polish fans... Thanks for this video. Hope it helps understand how Robert was talented for present F1 fans ❤
PS the author does not say that Kubica has assigned a contract with Ferrari for the 2012 season. Even Pat Fry and Alonso were in hospital the day after the crash.
0:30 is either spain or some other coastal town lmfao. since when do we get orange brick buildings, blue sea, yachts and mountains in krakow?
Desenzano del Garda in Italy
Też mnie to zdziwiło 🤣 WIDOK NA KRAKOWSKI ZAKRZÓWEK
Kubica is my favourite driver, his resilience in unluckiest of times (including the 2011 rally crash) is why I like him. May God protect him and bless him.
In 2019 Kubica scored 1 point for Williams, while Russell scored 0
He won two championships in ELMS and WEC (in LMP2) , won a WEC race in Hypercar this year, and absolutely dominated Le Mans in the Hypercar class, and definetely would have won if not for the car breaking down. Truly one of the goats
I would like to remind you that Robert Kubica scored 100% of Williams points in 2019, completely ridiculing Russell, the "future WDC", with one hand.
And he did it in a car that wasn't getting all the new parts!
Unlucky?
Survived two death defying crashes. The very definition of luck.
Love to Kubica ! As a Pole and teenager I was waking up at night just to watch F1 races ! Love it, love it !
The FIA created F2 and F3 to make sure no driver with Kubica's background ever makes it to F1 again
Correct. It's become a ground for a certain, closed group of businessmen, managers and other people responsible for academies/driver development programs to make more money.
true. its a miracle verstappen is there
What FIA did to motorsport is the same what UN has done to the world and WHO to healthcare - great on surface level, dystopian when you get into details.
@@ImotekhtheStormlord-tx2itwhat? But his dad was an f1 driver who was connected to all GP racing up to F1, it would have never been a problem for him
Kubica still got that. I think he could fight against Alonso and Hamilton, or even Verstpen in f1 car, but Wiliams in 2019 ruined his oportunity to race with anybody put them to crapy wheelbarrow.
The Real One Robert from Poland. He's not waiting for others in team, he's not alone on empty goal, only for bounce in right side. This is real TOP G, real Polish character, not a TikTok dancer. Every Polish soul is proud by this man, he's one of us.
The guy was SO EFFING GOOD that even after some ugly accidents crushed him, when he announced his retirement, Sauber Alfa Romeo went "No, no, no, no, no! You're our test/reserve driver. You're too good to retire just now". I'm really sad that he didn't have a shot at the F1 championship. I admire the guy and rooted for him.
Must say... this was one hell of a story, but also one hell of story teller. Nice job. I remember watching Kubica was I much younger.
Watching Schumacher cheering for Kubica during the presentation was so heartwarming. He was like a proud dad cheering for his son
It’s always a good day when daily posts a new video
Big thanks for effort putting Kubicas history. Kubica always drive on the edge.
Respect, life gives and takes back things in strange ways. But one thing for sure, Kubica is an world class racer, his talent, willpower and resilience kept him going toe to toe with all the top f1 drivers

Kubica's accident in the Rally was on my 3rd birthday. Poor Kubica did not deserve such a fate. 😢😢😢
First stage in WRC car, First time in Monte Carlo Rally and he was first.. He also won with S. Loeb 9 times WRC Champion and with S. Ogier 8 times WRC Champion.
he was and still is our national hero… I’m absolutely sure if not for the injuries, he would’ve been a world champion at least once.
Imagine any other country having such a talented young driver. If the do so they will be a big fight of sponsors to get him under their companys, but not in Poland. Kubica said that in one of the interviews that they really struggle with finding a sponsor for him. Thats what happening to many Polish sportsman/woman.
Poland was so united around Kubica when he was in F1 it was crazy. F1 was not super popular, it had some fans for sure but this was other level.
mogę powiedzieć coś o kubicy jako polak, w polsce jest ikoną motorsportu i nadal sporo polaków (w tym ja) zaczęli oglądać f1 lub teraz wec właśnie przez kubice
This is a great example of hope for the big dreams and great talent of Robert Kubica 👍❤
Thanks for that video buddy. It is good to hear that Robert is getting appreciated. I am F1 fun because of him. He is already legend. In BMW Heidfeld was favourite. He was getting priority everywhere to. New parts, strategy.
Here you see why Jacques never say a single good word about Robert. Kubica replaced him and showed his potential.
Thanks for the video about Kubica. He was truly an amazing talent in F1. Although he should have achieved way more than he did he definitely brought some beautiful piece of history to F1 😊
I remember how on Sundays we always watched our compatriot before dinner and that memorable accident in Canada. I remember my mother then told me to go to my room because each of us sensed the worst. Recalling this I still have tears in my eyes
and if any one is wondering, so far he's story is going well , he's now in the World Endurance Series driving the yellow 83 privater Ferrari Hypcar and regular finds himself in the top 5 and his team is one of the top teams in the hypercar class. man is a legend and doesn't quite
Wow with your tone of voice you can do Hollywood documentaries...cool stuff and I like how informed you are. Congrats!
Kubica is one of my favourite F1 drivers, he was a beast during the BMW Sauber era, his determination is incredible
First WRC2 champion and last LMP2 champion. Both of them with an injury, absolute madlad
Always behind Russel yet he was the one who scored the only point in this pathetic car. Also it was clear the team was able to deliver upgrades to only one car. I'm not denying Russel's talent, he is a very good driver and I wish him all the best, but these cars were not the same at all
He is my hero, never give up, always enjoy.
I was only around 10 years old when I saw his races (mom was a huge F1 fan even back then) and he's really left an impression. The accident I think was also a talk among people here who didn't even watch F1.
Also to add context as to how bad his accident in 2011 was - it was said that in the most critical moment he only had less than a liter of blood in his system.
Non è sempre stato dietro a Russel, ha segnato l'unico punto per la squadra nel 2019 nonostante Russell avesse una macchina migliore. Oggi è molto competitivo nelle gare di lunga distanza.
I was at that race in Hungary, my dad was a huge fan of Kubica. It was fun to finally cheer for a polish driver.😊
Great material, I'm from Poland and I've always been a big fan of Robert, so thank you for this video. Maybe someday you'll record footage of how he performs in the WEC series and Le Mans races.
nice editing. thank you for your content. Kubica is definitely Special!
the 2007 duel with Massa is just legendary
This rally in 2011 was supposed to be his last rally, because he had already signed a contract for the next season with Ferrari.Kubica loves rallies and said that thanks to rallies he is a better F1 driver. He drove in rallies during the F1 season breaks, Renault allowed him to do so, but he knew that when he will go to Ferrari he would no longer be able to race in WRC.
Despite all of that, we are deeply proud of him. He was firs in our history, but certainly not last, true with our spirit, not giving up, always fighting. Robert is our hero.

Excellent story! 🏅
Thank you for this! 👍
One more bad luck fact: In 2021, Robert's Team WRT car was heading for a victory in 24h Le Mans in LMP2 class when suddenly it stopped... on the very last lap of 24 hrs race. 😰
This is the second docu from you that I've watched (Maldonado), and now I just hit the "Follow" - cause I really appreciate your work doing 20 minutes docus on my heroes 👍
I don't know what to expect, if you have docus on Legends like Rindt, Stewart, Fittipaldi, Peterson, Lauda, Nilsson, Hunt and... weeeeeell, I've followed F1 since 1973 (Kiss and Formula One-drivers was my childhood heroes), so I might be a little old-school too - but I love my boys (and Lella Lombardi, Maria Velotta, Lewis Hamilton and the other girls in the sport) so I'll absolutely settle for modern day drivers ✌️

Mr. Kubitz.. Balls of steel ♨️❤️
He's actually doing well in the World Endurance Championship.
I'm Polish and i have tears in my eyes when I think how big it could be if it wasn't for the fucking barrier. He is one of the national heroes when it comes to sports
With all due respect, he wasn't behind Russell, in fact, in that season Williams scored only one point.
And guess who got that point. I'll give you a hint - it wasn't Russell.
And don't you think that the fact that the car was dogsh*t contributed to the fact he performed poorly?
Ps: Please, remember who they gave his seat to.
A heroic driver with relentless spirit, great skill, respect and determination.
As a Greek, i believe he represents polish people for their work ethic, grit, guts and honesty.
Gargamel! I always watch until the end!
Well you can view it from many sides. For me he is one of the most luckiest. Three times he could not only end his drivers career but he could simply die. Each time he got up and showed everyone he is one of the bests in what he is doing. It's easy to be on the top when you are going with the wind. Try his route and not allow to be broken. He makes me proud being Polish.
You just forgot the fact that he just won elms lmp2 championship and the cota 6h with ferrari afcorse hypercar. Anyway nice video
Kubica may have been unlucky. But his perseverance is incredible and admirable.
