Rachel, this "rings" tag is so fun! Wrapping the bullion stitch around the rings was an interesting idea...and you filled each ring with so many!! Wow! Those rings look amazing as flowers!! I love the addition of the embroidery to the centers of your flowers. That turned out great. Your tag did look like a beautiful bouquet of flowers with so many lovely colors and textures. You did an outstanding job on this one, as you have on each one. Nice stitching!!😊
The rings,... I've never seen this stitch used like this!!! It looks GREAT!! I like to watch you slow stitch,...its so relaxing. Reminds me of the SEWING CIRCLES we had as a girl. I'm so glad to see women doing it again. And how you put them together on a TAG!! Love it! Your work is very nice. Thank you for the video. Austin, TX USA
I can't get over how delightful this tag is. I found the brief hard to find inspiration but after watching this tutorial there's so much inspiration. Thank you Rachel for sharing xx
Oh Rachel... so beautiful. You were so right with the French knots it needed that middle height to balance it, because the rings were so tall but your bullion stitches were amazing! What a whimsical turn this took. It is so calming to stitch. The other day my boyfriend bought some pants on sale but they were 2 inches too long. I was sitting taking them up with a blind hem while we watched TV and he asked what I was smiling about. Didn't know I was but it was just relaxing and satisfying. Just don't tell anyone... lol!
Rachel, love, love, love this one it is absolutely beautiful. I love to watch your slow stitching, and I am learning so much from you. You have added so many different stitches in this one, there is a lot of work in it. I think this is my favorite thus far. I think we are on the same wavelength when you said “I think the top ring something in the center” and I said my sentiments as well. Take care and stay safe. Hugs Theresa
Sorry to be so off topic but does someone know of a trick to get back into an instagram account..? I somehow forgot my password. I love any help you can give me.
@Blaine Darian i really appreciate your reply. I got to the site thru google and I'm in the hacking process now. Takes quite some time so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Great project! This was very satisfying to watch... I love bullion & French knots so very much - and like you, I can’t resist stitching them on everything I sew. They are very fun! 🌸
Rachel, I love watching your videos and your take on this technique is brilliant! I did want to make a suggestion (as a life-long stitcher) which I hope you don't mind. Every once in awhile you can hold your project up and let the needle and thread dangle and the thread will untwist itself so you don't have to fight with it so much. Happy stitching!
I too was rummaging through our curtain hook tin where we also have bits of lighting from our old house, in the end I used a big plastic buckle and sequins and made a dream catcher 😂
I enjoyed this entire creative process and had some plastic rings, so decided to try my hand at this while watching you work, it took some time but by the third ring of practice I began to feel a bit of mastery finally with the bouillon knots and fell in love with this keepsake tag project. I thank you so much for helping us be brave enough to try our hand at something new. Bless you!!!!!
Chuck it. Just chuck it through. Gotta love you Rachel. You make me 😃 smile while learning. TFS as always. I need to do mine tomorrow. Just got some rings today.
These wrapped pieces are wonderful and I love this idea. I like the embroideries underneath !! Have you ever made seed pods with fabric circles ? They are small circles that you make kinda like yoyos, but you stuff them with the same thing as stuffing for toys. Then decorate them with beads. They are a nice addition to any slow stitch project. I've decorated the front of purses and some wall hangings with them. They would be awesome on the front of j journals too
This is what I like about you..it doesn't have to be perfect yet somehow it turns out looking simply perfect. Thank you for teaching us to try different and unusual
Stunning as usual Rachael. Cheers from home . 🇦🇺 xxxx I’m enjoying this weekly challenge . Nothing is too big . I was thinking this morning what to do with them . I had an idea as to put them on a frame but then ... oh the dust. Xxx
Had to pause you and rush over to Etsy to purchase some hand dyed variegated thread. I found some beautiful #12 DMC pearle cotton. So excited to try this technique. You inspire so many of us to try new and different things.
Stunning! I absolutely love it. I think where I fail is I stop instead of proceeding on and spending the time for small details that add so much. I’m blown away every week when I see what you do.
OMG! I love watching you make your tag! I have learn so much from you in your stitching and in your journaling. Thank you for showing us how you put it all together. ❤😀
Afternoon, Rachel! It’s warming up in Minnesota! I have terrible sinus yuck going on but it’s the first time I’ve been sick in ages so I won’t complain. You make me feel like I could learn this sewing thing! ❤️
This is a delightful tag. I am to the party a bit late. I did my yo-yo tag yesterday. Have my hexies assembled. This will be fun also. Thanks for all the ideas. Love your work. -Marsha from Texas
Rachel you are so creative and I was enthralled, I couldn't believ how many you made. I only did three. lol I just love how iyour tage turned out. Thanks for sharing your talent with us. God bless Lita xx
Your ring flowers are beautiful!! The colors are so pretty and it does look like a flower garden. No one would ever guess you used rubber rings and copper washers. Genius idea! 😊❤️
Oh Ecru thread. I saw it. I’m using Ecru on my quilt. This tag It is a lovely AND extravagant I know you just can’t help it. After all you are so creative. I probably would have put cherry life saver candies stuck on there
Hi Rachael, your tag is gorgeous! I’m visiting my grandson in CO. Snow is looking beautiful. The airport was very strict about masking and what type of mask you were allowed to use, in the airport and on the flight so I felt quite safe. Weather in CO. is crisp and beautiful.
That was AWESOME!!! Thank you so much for showing us how to do the different knots too!!! I have been wanting to learn that for so long and you make it look SO EASY (and I know it’s not)!!! THANK YOU!!!
Fun and magnificent ring tag!! This is my favorite of all your tags❤ Thank you for slowly teaching how to do a bullion stitch on the ring...so cool. I am working on the blanket stitch to cover the ring then I'll do the bullion stitches on top. Maybe the dogs howl because they like the sound of your voice?!😁💕🐬
This is fabulous Rachel, I’m just collecting supplies to start sewing or embroidery, I’m not really sure but you’ve inspired me to at least do some slow stitching, tfs xxx💕

Your colors are amazing. Those rings with bullion knots would make a beautiful broach. I can just see them on a thick jumper or cardigan.
I agree, I also thought they would be pretty earrings. Thank you so much!

Love it all! The turkey stitch and bouillon was are terrific. Good idea to to the needle threader down so that it doesn't walk off.

interesting. crochet might be easier than blanket stitch if you have a hook. i hadn't heard of this challenge, but i really like what you've done! tfs
I don't crochet so it's blanket stitch for me. Thank you so much!
