I am looking forward to yard/lawn sale season this year. I know in years past there were often bits and pieces of embroidered or crocheted items. I always felt badly that the new generation would disrespect these heirloom pieces. Now I'm going to be on the lookout to give them new life! This little book is going to look fabulous!
I love when you break out your Aussie : ) I just watched you knot your thread when you were finished sewing and it was a revelation!!! So easy, simple and clean. Being a amateur I do at least 50 knots before I'm happy that it won't come undone before I cut the thread. Love your ideas, you have some real gems. Thanks for sharing and your chattyness : )
I love it. These Vintage embroideries are beautiful and it can be used in many projects. What about another project teaching us to make that beautiful Vintage Needlebook case of yours. Take care. x Blessings x Mariana UK xx
Watching this video today. You are really good at embroidery and hand sewing. Your Mother taught you very well! As I watched you put the thread back on the cardboard “spool,” I realized that you do it the exact way as I do. It must be so obvious that’s how it’s done, that so many people do it that way. Or maybe that’s why they put the little hole it it. I know you are very busy, you don’t have to respond. I’m happy to see you so relaxed. Have a great day, whenever you read this comment.
Gorgeous! I’ve been working on my Anne block while you toiled away. I have quite a few embroideries so this is definitely on my list! Those ‘comments’ with a dot com and no real conversation, are likely nudies. I’ve always reported them when i’ve seen them but these on your site will not go away. You need to delete them from your side. Don’t open them!
I’d bet money it will be pretty darn spectacular! Watching you stitch is making me think of trying it. Wonderfully relaxing...thanks. Have a great weekend Rachel. ❤️
I just love this, all your creations and creativity are just beautiful and I learn so much beside just enjoying. I'm from Canada and your voice and accent relax me to the point that I drift off and have the best naps ever - which is ok because I re - watch, gives you another vid view - bonus 👍😅. I do wish you would zoom in when you are doing your stitching 🔍👀🙏😍 Lotsa love and thanks from 🇨🇦
I am 75 and have been sewing since childhood. My Mother bought me a small thimble and I had to wear it before I could sew. I have watched several of you sewing without a thimble and it makes my fingers hurt. Lol
Thanks so much for mentioning French laundry labels. I had no idea that what the little red letters/numbers were. I was able to find them on Etsy. Yay!!!
Did you get an assortment? I ones I found on Etsy were all the same. I’d like to get an assortment. Did Rachel happen to mention the shop she purchased her labels from?
This was helpful...I've collected several pieces of embroidered pieces, and some of my own work, and never know if I should cut them, I'm assuming that we should cut around the pattern and avoid cutting into the stitches? Could you cut one out or a piece of one to show me!?! Great video!😊😊😊😉
Lovely video! It’s always so relaxing to watch you work. This is a great idea! I have saved several old embroidery pieces, but I’ve yet to use them. This has been helpful to watch. I am looking forward to seeing the next part. Thank-you. 😃😃
I've been watching a tiny piece of tissue or washing that appears to be printed with reindeer float around your desk for a while now.....its become one of my big mysteries of the day....will it still be there? Lovely work as usual.
I bought a linen cushion cover on line to use in my making. Took one look at it and promptly put it on a cushion.😊 Well, I know where it is when I need it. But I have other stuff I can use. When I do that kind of work goes to a close friend or I keep it.
They have loads of your needle threaders on Amazon...if you put in ****Needle Threader, Stainless Steel Threading Tools for Large Eye Needles by Zhichengbosi**** they are 30 pieces for £3.99 no good for me though as I need a threader for very small needle eyes for sewing seed beads
Looks good. Interested in how you add beads. But maybe I'll catch one eventually where you add beads. Any chance you could zoom in on the stitching? TFS. 😁
Love watching you stitch. So relaxing. We are having beautiful, sunny weather. A true spring. I would love it if you would do a series on making a large pin cushion. Something different...I’ve looked on Etsy and haven’t found anything.
Rachel, another fabulous video. I have bags and bags of old embroidery so I feel really inspired to do something with it. What is the hank of thread called that you used sew with? Thanks for sharing. Jacquie
Beautiful Rachel.Very relaxing video. Tfs. Born in 1970, that makes me 10 years older than you!! See you on the next video. 💞🇨🇦💕
Thank you so much!

The ones I use are for threading embroidery floss in large eye needles and can be found on Amazon . They are the flat ones like the one you use.
Thank you so much!
I just ordered some hand dyed #12 pearle cotton from Spain. She had some beautiful threads.
Oh sounds lovely. What was the name of her shop?
Pomegranatecolors is the name of the Etsy shop. She offers free shipping if you purchase over a certain dollar amount.
Beautiful. It would be great to have a digikit of the embroidery’s before you part with them all.
Thank you so much!
This was so much fun! I’m very interested in your threader. I’ve had eye surgery. Hugs ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you so much!
So pretty!! I found some really pretty embroidery pieces and doilies at a little vintage shop and this inspired me...thanks Rachel!

What is that fantastic bead container?? I’m embarrassed how I keep mine. This one looks great!
Well, I didn’t go far enough in the video to hear the info! Sorry!
What is the link to Melanie’s channel to order the bead container?
You can buy them on Amazon. Melanie doesn't sell them she just showed hers.

Thank you
can you explain (sorry if this is an old question) how you pull thread from your skein?? it looks like you cut each end and just pulled a length out??
it was the large skein of the beige thread/yarn/whatever
I cut the thread at one end and pull them out from the opposite end.
