I gotta tell you though I worked for post office 25 years and have delivered a lot of things but when I delivered anything fragile or live chicks or ducks I always treated them as precious as if they were a newborn baby
Thank you so much for that also I hear a lot of truck drivers keeping them by cold or their A|C's so on their way to delivery they can get to cold and die it's sad. I rescued a bunch of meat chickens that are different breeds from a website about a year ago like lots of them and they are living happily and well alive with the rest of my sheep's and ducks.
I just lost two ramshorn snails that were meant to arrive next day first class signed for and were just put through the letterbox over a week later than they were meant to arrive covered in FRAGILE, URGENT and LIVE ANMAL stickers :(
Omg thats so nice of you. I have some eggs coming to me and I hope they handle with care. I’m always grateful for usps delivery because I am way out but your so kind.
Of all the families I watch here and all the children, I believe that you and your precious daughter are so nice to watch together. The three of you just seem so happy together building your Family farm.
I hope you have better luck with the new silky eggs. Nugget is such a sweetheart! You are all so good to the animals. They couldn’t be in better hands, Be well!🦆🐓🦃🐥🦚🐖🐐
I have just fallen in LOVE with this Family 👪 ❤, wish every family & child could Experience the Joy of Farmlife & children could have the experience of day to day life of responsibility and love that the animals bring . Hard work growing up, but the simplicity and memories are AMAZING ! God bless ! Thanks for sharing your lives with us All 🇺🇸 🙏. Penney C.
Love the update in the goats. We bought 3 baby Nigerian dwarf goats goats 6 months ago and bottle fed them (thanks to yalls videos) and now they’re just the sweetest girls. -named them Rose, Blair, and Dorthy after the golden girls 🤣. Love yalls family and homestead. Very inspiring ❤️ btw I think ‘Bootsie’ is having triplets!
I love Silkies! They're always so sweet when I get to see them in person. What does turning the eggs pointy end down do that makes them more likely to hatch?
The indoor rest period is to let air cells begin to recover and temp/humidity acclimate to Incubation room conditions 6-12 hrs may be enuf for farm fresh eggs - but its 12-24 for Shipped eggs!! Also - no turning for Shipped eggs the first few days in incubator.
The humidity might be the problem. I had the same thing happen to me too. So we tried dry incubation. Were you don't put water in the incubator until lockdown. We had ours at 40- 45% humidity until it was time for lockdown. But I don't know anything about hatching out silkies 😕
Oh how cute is nugget and look how she’s grown , I want one lol ,can’t wait for the kids to be born , I think five between them , another brilliant video xx
Yes it is such a gamble with shipped eggs but letting them rest is supposed to help the air sacs to reattach but sometimes it still doesn’t work. I wish the postal office were a little more gentle on eggs. Goats are my favorite 🥰
Bootsy is gonna 💥!! Good stuff on that feed and water tray. I did one very similar last year and it worked great. Every so often I’d have to use a brush and water to scrape off any droppings that build up where the wire is mounted to the wood frame. It definitely helps with the shavings though. Y’all be good 👍
Love yalls videos. Such an inspiration. I have a silkie sitting on some eggs right now. The rooster is a serama silkie cross can't wait for eggs to hatch
You were a success with the Silkie eggs, Love this channel and all of your interaction and the love and care you give them, can't wait to see the Goats born, do you let your subscribers name them, have a Happy Day!
We have a GQF Hovabator 1588 with the auto egg turner and have loved it so far. Super easy to use. Not quite 50 though as it only holds 42 chicken eggs on the racks.
I ordered some hatching eggs through mail when I open them up, they all look fine but when I candle them all air sacs are ruptured... I will try to hatching them....USPS priority mail can be really rough to hatching eggs.
Peaches...what??? Pig shows you say...I am all the pig you will ever need to see, got it!! I love it when you pet on her and she starts to really talking to ya!! Boy you cleared that fence like it weren't nothing dude!! Emu spa day!! Rub a dub dub one emu in a tub!! Nugget is so awesome!! Blessings!!
So sorry about the silkies, lesson learned. Is Nugget still sleeping with Mary Carl? Our goats would have chewed the fan cord if we didn’t put it up and over the roof! Platform for water/food, that’s a game changer, way to go.
Check your goat's ligaments every morning. There are two pencil sized ligaments running just under and alongside the tailbone. When she is ready to kid, you will no feel those ligaments. The other thing to watch is the udder. Her udder isn't very big, so you still have time. She should get an enlarged udder within a week of kidding. Their belly will drop when the kids get closer to the birth canal. This means that there will be a caving to the side.
If It was the male Silkie in my grandpa's garden in there he would be dominating. Anyway it's the reason I don't trust letting him out cause he always look like he will chase me to the end of the world. He even bit me one time when I was trying to pet him lol
Denise Kirk wow. I don’t hatch silkies, but breeding Cochin Bantams. Have never shipped eggs before, or used an incubator (only broody hens). I think shipping is just the main problem. So far, I’ve had 95% fertility from my girls. But I have the parents here and such. It may just be silkies as well. But I know lots of silkie breeders with high fertility rates for their silkies. But again, they don’t ship eggs, they have the parents there. 🤷🏼♀️ I’m unsure about this. Some people have suggested humidity issues, but I’m pretty sure it’s just the shipping part.
Oh nooo... So sad about the silkies. But thats what happens when you don't let Miss P. do it. It never gets done correctly if she's not supervising..... Fingers crossed it works this time!
Just a heads up, ya know? I was surprised when that happened. (Millie Fluer Cochin Bantams) But silkies can also come in regular size, it’s just really hard to find them, but just saying anyway.
I love your dedication to building a resolution to the problem of getting shavings in feed and water but chicks can easily be taught to drink water from a rabbit bottle. Keeps poop, shavings and feed out. Like $4 at Wal-Mart and reduces the risk of some folks cutting off fingers with power tools lol
It is understandable, excitement took over the thinking part of the brain. I think we have all made that fatal mistake! Lessons learned and MC has that filed in her brain of facts to not be forgotten! Just look at it like a positive, 3 hatched!
When is a good time to get laying hens? I live in southeast Missouri, and I am building a chicken coop now, but I don't want to get chicks if they will be freezing
@@chadweatherspoon7479 Chiming in really late here, but if you have a broody hen, she can hatch any time of the year. I let mine brood in the winter. Have a separate 3x2ft pen inside the chicken house with a brooding nest on the floor in a box. The chicks will instinctively stay under their mother for heat, and nothing makes a momma hen come running like the chirp of a cold chick. as long as the pen is about 3x2ft with food and water, they'll typically be fine.

7-21-20, Hey everyone, Jason, Mrs, cog hill, and Mary Carl and nugget and Boss peaches, I finally got my new drivers license that I've been waiting for, I dropped my CDL, after 41years, with no tickets and no accidents, safe driving, I had to stop driving because of my diabetes and other health problems, now I'm waiting for my birthday in August, 15th, for the big 65yrs old. Anyway hello my new friend nuggets, I see you are getting big, and hello, boss peaches and tipper and topper and Scott and Mrs. Scott and foxie and the dogs and the cat's and all the other animals, I hope you all are doing well, it's been super hot here in Chicago and in Selma, stay cool and tell boss Jason to sprinkle all of you with some water to keep you all cool.
Hello this a bit random but my chick hatched, it's cord is still attched to the egg. What concerns be is there's bit of blood around the abdomin. Has my chick herniated? Is the blood normal? I read you can snip the cord, but other people say let if fall off on it's own, but does this apply to to my situation seeing that there is blood? I've never delt with this before. Any information would be great thanks so much for sharing your video!

So true!
I just feel the urge to scream my announcement.. I finally put in an offer on a 10 acre farm in Scotland, Ar... I'm so nervous and excited
did you succeded?
Did they take your offer?
no one asked
Omg I'm putting my offer in tonight on a ten acre farm too! Good luck with yours! I'm so excited for us!
Good job 👏 👍
It’s so great you’re letting MC explore her passion
Great PARENTS Here.
Does ambient humidity change what you set incubator at?

Ok guys, what did I miss? What was the mistake you made with the silkie eggs in the incubator?
Yeah, it’s weird, they dont mention it in the video, but the descriptions says why; they didn't let it sit for 6-12 hours
How many hatched out of those even?
@@Posmlady he said just 3
My youngest daughter, she’s 5 years old and I watch you videos. She loves them! Awesome video.

Thanks always feel better after watching you videos you're one of my favorite channels
What's the best way to clean your incubator?
I put a box fan on with my chickens at night to keep the mosquitos off them.
Nice Farm! Where did you get your emu from? I am looking for a few to add to our farm as well.
Nugget did a GREAT imitation of a duck!
Howdy there partners,y'all have a beautiful farm and setup. Thanks for the videos keep up the great work
I'm lending to three...It seems that Nugget was meant to be on this homestead. Peaches is still number " 1 " haha

I’m thinking Bootsie is gonna have two big babies. Also, I love how she shook her head as if to say “no, I don’t want the tree treats”🤣😁

The ducks said yess. Get nugget a large kiddie pool. That way they can steal it. Lol
