@Zoe Mozzelle perfect 🥰 2/2 They were born on 2/12 and 2/13. Three weeks old today! Happy and healthy. The best advice I have to give is to wait for the hatch and not assist too early! I wasn't sure if the one that peeked first was alive and well (scared that something had gone wrong). Searched EVERYWHERE, and someone gave advice not to jump in early. Sure enough, the next morning (2) two days after the first peek, she (I hope it's a she) hatched as God intended all by herself. I could tell she needed the extra time to absorb the yolk, so I'm happy I didn't assist. Thanks for asking. 🥳🐣🐤
This was terrific....a great video for a beginner because it is by a beginner and you can feel the little bit of nervousness about doing it right. Thanks for videoing it all and talking about things running through your mind as well as tidbits of info you learned. Jesus bless.
The first chick helps the others hatch. They talked to each other through their shells. I have also noticed over the years that the chicks running around and bumping into the other eggs hatching stimulates them and they get out of their shells earlier. I just loved watching your hatching video I've got eggs coming and I can't wait to get back into it. Oh and I've also learned from my own experiences over the years if you incubate your shipped eggs standing up for the first 7 days you tend to get more eggs hatching I also live in the south where we have high humidity so I have to dry hatch or I will drown my chicks in their eggs. I don't add any water to my incubator until I check them on day 14 if they're air sacs are bigger than they're supposed to be I add water and if there's still too big I let them go into lockdown. Again I loved your video and good luck on your future hatches I will be here to watch.
I am in S. Florida too. If you're running the A/C would humidity be a problem? Mine are not outside. And it's 4 abandoned duck eggs I'm trying to hatch.
I have 5 eggs currently pipping right now. It's currently day 21, well, it will be technically at 5 pm tonight. I'm nervous, excited, and afraid of doing this, but I also have experience in raising chicks and have had a hen hatch out a batch last year. Yes, I know Mama did the work, but it's still considered experience. Anyway, I have knowledge of incubating and honestly... some of it is just common sense. Now the water I didn't know anything about. But the temp and not opening the incubator was pretty well common sense for me. The average body temp of most animals is between 98 and 100, so yeh. What I didn't know was that you stopped turning the eggs around days 16 and 18... I wonder how mom knows that one 🤔, but I digress. It does make sense, tho. None the less I'm very excited, and so are my children ❤
Thanks for posting this! Mine will hatch soon, and I’d purchased the same incubator so you really helped me! Thank you! Thanks for “insight into this!”😊

I have used incubators and had decent luck but the best in my opinion is a few good game fowl hens to incubate my eggs. They will cover 10 to 12 eggs easily and they are the best mother's ever. They will protect the clutch like no other.
The one thing the kebbonix has is the dark top. The 360 has a white top and it interferes with the light. Try cutting a hole in dark fabric. Drape it over the 360. You will see a much clearer picture! The incubator is great. Just wish it was not white plastic that let the light right through.

Ok you mention “lock down”…. So you disconnected the egg motor… what if the eggs collected were from a course of a few days. Will this affect the “lock down” date? I put our 12 eggs in on Oct. 6… so we’re getting close. (Only about 1/2 look fertile, a couple suspect and a couple curious of something possible but behind the other more developing eggs) Yeah first time doing this… my mind is all over. Sorry. Any advice would be helpful 😊
Hi Thank you so much for watching our video. As long as the eggs all started the incubation period at the same time, the collection of eggs will not affect the incubation. My eggs were also collected over a period of a week, but this did not affect the lock down phase of incubation. Good luck!
Hi I have a Harris Farms Nature Right 360. Is it all chicks that cant eat or Walk? or just one? Do you removed them from the incubator to a bed of pine shavings? If it is just one chick then I would say it may be a birth defect this sometimes happens. You will need to just watch and see if the chick gets better ... you can try taping the legs loosely together. Sometimes the chick is born with splayed legs and taping the legs sometimes helps its little legs straighten out. Leave them taped for a week. You will need to help it eat and drink during this process.. As for not eating the chicks may not eat until the 3rd or 4 th day. Have you tried showing the chick where the food and water is?
Not all chicks are born with their eggs yolks hanging out. They should absorb while they’re in their shell. Personally I’ve never seen that and I hatch 2 times a year.

Do you have a UPS that a computer may be plugged into? you can plug the incubator into a UPS. Hopefully the power will come back as soon as possible. @@MississippiFamilyHomestead I’m not sure how long it will be out. My son lives 4 miles Fro me and he has electricity. But would it be ok to move them?
You can feel the chick's as soon as you remove them from the incubator. Chick start any brand is fine. Purchased from tractor supply or any local farm supply store.
If the is rooster present more than likely the eggs are fertilized. You will need to use the candling method while hatching the eggs to see if you have a chick growing.
You mentioned you got rid of your Roosters, and you want to hatch your own chicks ??? without a rooster ? hmmmmm use a led flashlight, it help, with faster timing for the eggs to be out
Hard to believe there is such a science in doing this and all a Hen does is just sit on them and not much else ! Why do we need to turn them and she doesn't (or does she) ?
Are you all watching the same as me? I'm surprised any hatched with the lengh of time she was messing around with them during candling. The lighting around them was way too light anyway too make accurate judgement

The last one is a rooster and actually has become one of our favorites. He is doing well.
@@MississippiFamilyHomestead That's great,glad that the he's doing well 🧡
Some people told me I can start feeding after two days? Is that all right?
You can feel the chick's as soon as you remove them from the incubator. Chick start any brand is fine. Purchased from tractor supply or any local farm supply store.
Sorry feed chick's please excuse my miss spelling
Thank you 💕
How do i know if the rooster fertilized the eggs
If the is rooster present more than likely the eggs are fertilized. You will need to use the candling method while hatching the eggs to see if you have a chick growing.
You need a flash light to be able to see better.....
We tried with a flashlight off camera but the incubator light was actually pretty bright. Thanks for watching.
So am I just supposed to incubate all of the eggs? We sell eggs, so that kind of sucks
Yea … that cat is looking for lunch !,,
You mentioned you got rid of your Roosters, and you want to hatch your own chicks ??? without a rooster ? hmmmmm use a led flashlight, it help, with faster timing for the eggs to be out
Hard to believe there is such a science in doing this and all a Hen does is just sit on them and not much else ! Why do we need to turn them and she doesn't (or does she) ?
Yes the Hen turns the eggs naturally in nature. This is true of all birds.
@@MississippiFamilyHomestead Clever little beggars - Respect !
You need a better candler
be careful cat actual tend to eat the small chick.. 😅😅
Very true. Cats will eat chicks and smaller pullets. Dogs too.
We always kept the cats away when we were not around. Cats will eat the little chicks fast. Thanks
used pensil not good to used that for marker
Thanks for your suggestion
Do you wash your eggs first?
The yolk of an egg basically becomes the chick
I believe the yolk feeds the chick during development.
Just be careful of Cats They eat young one
We made sure the cats were not alone with the baby chick, thank you for watching.
Are you all watching the same as me? I'm surprised any hatched with the lengh of time she was messing around with them during candling. The lighting around them was way too light anyway too make accurate judgement
Thank you for watching, the room was much more darker than it appears on camera due to the iris of the camera being wide open just to film.
I guess that you never made time to learn manners. She is learning and enjoying while performing this experiment. However, I am sorry for whatever happened in your life to make you bitter
Yes. Manners and in very short supply.
@@janetcalvert3959 wow I can imagine you sat there with your nose turned up. There's a difference between manners and honesty. I said nothing rude, bitter or untoward. I said what I seen, why do people get their backs up if someone has a different opinion? In life you got to deal with the fact we will have different thoughts and ideas, it comes with being a adult, and even though my comment wasn't bad I stand by it, get over it
@@river1927Miss Emma, my opinion was that you expressed yours in an unmannerd way, not that you held one I disagreed with. Reading comprehension must not be a strong suit you posses along with the painfully obvious lack of being able to express a criticism in a charitable, helpful, mature way. "Are you all watching the same as me." That bout sums it all up right there. And by the way sweetie, I do don't have anything to " get over."
Incubators seem all so uncomfortable.
This video was awesome. Would you recommend leaving the chickens in until day 23 regardless of if all are hatched or not. Also what are the needed materials for when you do remove them from the incubator? We’re currently on day 14 and will be candling again tonight to check the eggs. Any and all information would be appreciated.
Yes I would most defiantly let the eggs stay in the incubator for 23 days, Please let us know how it goes. Thanks For Watching.
