Repent and trust in Jesus. We all deserve Hell for our sins, such as lying lusting coveting and more. We can't save ourselves, but Jesus can save us. You guys have really done a LOT for my family. You inspired us to start our own farm, and hatch our own chicks an learn. But all that was ruined by the virus. We had to give up our little homestead to move to a place suitable to our needs. It has been really hard, but luckily I have had the opportunity to hatch some guineas for a friend along the way! And now we are saving up for a dream home to re-start our homestead all because of you! Thank you guys so much, your video never fail to amuse me I watch every single one! God bless you, be safe, and have an amazing holiday season as well!

Loved this video, very informative! But I must say I bought the little 4 egg incubator off Amazon (before I saw the video) since my son got gifted 2 eggs from a farm and wanted to see them hatch. I got it working and turned them myself diligently for 18 days…we now have 2 chicks in a homemade brooder!

Where do you live? It‘s definitely not the breed. I have Cemanis and they hatch at about 90%. Much better than my silkies, MEZK and Sebrights. I sometimes even send eggs from my Cemanis via mail and even those hatch very well, about 60-80%. Here the breed is quite common and easy to get, also not that expensive. I bought two adult hens last year for 15 euros each.

That was fun! As a kid, we had a "kid's incubator" it had a yellow base, a light bulb in the bottom, a plastic grid floor, and clear dome. We turned the eggs every day. I don't remember stopping the egg turning. It held about four eggs. We hatched some yellow chicks every year. I am amazed now how that worked. The incubator sat in my room or the kitchen. We hatched them in the summer. Your chicks are adorable. ❤❤❤❤❤

I just built a cabinet incubator yesterday and it works great! I’ve got a silver appleyard duck breeder flock and I’ll be hatching some ducklings out in no time! I really love the silver appleyard ducks because they are a threatened breed on the livestock conservancy and I love that I’m helping the breed stay alive! They lay better than our chickens and get to butcher age at only 8 weeks!! They lay about 250 eggs a year give or take, I highly recommend them, they are pretty darn friendly too!

Oh my gosh, I LOVED this video! Not only am I a newish chicken mommy (RIR flock of 8 females and one rooster, and 2 buffs that I am IN LOVE with so much!!!...)! And now, I am on day four of my 9 hatching Buff Orpington eggs in my first incubator. I am sooooooooooooo freaking excited that I can't see straight! I have set first candling for next Wednesday which is 9 days after putting in incubator. I'm so worried about temperature and humidity and keeping it correct but I'll check on them a couple of times daily and try to figure out how best to keep them right. Currently my temperature is running between 101 and 103 F and humidity is between 60 and 65 which I'm afraid is too much but I don't know how to reduce it. I know mama chickens get off of their eggs on occasion to go grab a quick bite, water, and have a gigantic poop but dang, I'm terrified of opening it in hopes of lowering the humidity on these pre lock down days.

Been watching your channel for the past three months. Growing up in a farm environment many years ago, it's a delight and wonderful return to the great memories I had as a child. A off the cuff suggestion, would adding recorded adult chicken sounds to override the incubator noises and a softer bottom to the incubator assist in the development and survival of your chicks? All babies need sound stimulation and comfort to thrive. . . Just thoughts to consider. Absolutely LOVE this channel. You are a lovely family!

I'm glad you did this. When looking at incubators, that first one you introduced kept popping up as different names and brands but all the same color, design, size, etc. I figured it was a cheap mass-produced one that is sold to multiple companies to make them a few bucks fast. Manufacturers who do that are very sketchy in my eyes. If it's sold under multiple names, never buy it.

I really enjoyed seeing the difference in the incubators. I have never tried using plastic incubators. My setups have always been styrofoam for the consistency of heat and insulation paired with an inkbird plug and play thermostat and egg turner. I'd love to see if this setup would work well in your cold climate since I am in Florida. Thank you for sharing your experiments with all of us. You all are awesome!

Both brilliant incubators - often get 80% hatch rate and with the mini I've had about 4 x 100% hatch rate. Awesome machines. I have Bourbon Red turkeys in them at the moment. The Maxi turns them JUST, and the Mini I have to manually turn. Thanks for the great review.

I think you should do this again but in a more controlled environment, where weather isn't a factor. It would be more fair for the smaller cheaper incubators. Plus a lot of people do their hatching inside so that the weather won't affect hatching rates anyways, so it might even be more helpful for those people, especially if they have a tighter budget, and can only afford an incubator that's a little cheaper.

I really prefer the R-Com 20 Incubator. Worth the money and way fewer issues than the Brinsea. My friend bought the Brinsea cabinet and had to replace the heater and fan. She bought a second one and had the same issue. Both times she lost every egg. I never hatched before and the R-Com has the water with a wearing coil inside and a float to show the water level when it is filled. Digital controls for humidity, and temps along with turning plates,. Never need to remove the turner plate because it is flat and doesn't impede the chicks hatching. It also has a recovery rate that is unmatched after opening the lid to candle or remove chicks.

Very interesting as usual!!! I wanted to tell you (last week & didn't get the chance) that the aviary is beyond what I imagined! You are a great builder. You make it look easy-except when doing most of the lifting on your own! 😉 That did NOT look easy. Anyway, I enjoy watching your family, farm grow!

Good to see a head to head trial of different incubators. I hope you did a video on the things you like and dislike about each one. I was wondering if they still made the little dome incubator. I remember them being advertised in the back of hunting and boys magazines back in the he 60's and 70's, along with fertile quail eggs.

I've been using the Lumia, chickens or quail. It's been great. Every egg that had a visible embryo inside hatched - except 2 quail, but that batch may have been due to a 6 hour power outage here.

You should do a second video with a broody hen and 3 of your best incubators. And you guys should do different combos of chickens. I loved this video

When I was a kid I had the cheap little incubator. All the eggs hatched. The problem with the super cheap ones is that you need to be responsible for turning the eggs and maintaining humidity. But when you are a kid it was fun for us 🤷‍♀️

I've researched incubators and have decided on brinsea as the best but the most expensive but I'm looking for the best. Your video was awesome. Thanks for sharing your family and your farm 😊

Awe! Love the new chicks, I'm surprised there's a little blond one. I thought dad's genes would show through more, but you never know with mixes.
I really liked the Harris farms nurture right 360. I think it's a good small-medium sized incubator and I've gotten some really great results with it. I'd like to use it again next year but somehow lost one of the small parts to it.
I wouldn't dream of hatching late fall/winter. I think October is the latest I'd be willing to do, but then again it depends on the climate where you live.

I use to have Rhode Island Red, Araucana and Bantam chickens as well as a White Rock Hen and Rooster. That was back when I was a teenager up into about 20 years of age when I got rid of all of them because I had to move. I loved raising chickens a lot. The hens hatched the eggs and then I took them after they were a few days old because of the other chickens pecking on them. I had one get killed before I realized that's what I needed to do. I enjoyed raising the animals and watching them grow and loved getting the white, brown and green eggs.

I own that cheap yellow mini incubator with the dome too, it is not junk and I'll not be throwing it out look like you suggest, first time using put in 6 eggs ,2 we're unfertilized and 1 quit other 3 are developing nicely as I write this. can see them moving when I candle. Its day 11 and all is well.
